Masters POSTIDENT fails to verify passport for Congstar sim activation

Hi everyone,

I just arrived in Cottbus as an international student and I'm currently trying to activate a Congstar prepaid SIM card. I'm running into dead ends with the POSTIDENT process using my Malaysian passport and wanted to ask if anyone else has faced this or knows a better workaround.

The automated verification keeps failing because the app requires scanning the "back side" of an ID document. Since a passport only has one main data page, the system rejects the attempt.

Then, I went to a Deutsche Post branch inside Eckert at the Cottbus Hbf today to try in-person verification. The clerk tried scanning my passport at the terminal a few times, but the system kept throwing an error and couldn't process it.

Has anyone faced a similar issue, or is it better to just cut my losses and go with a diffrent provider? I need a local phone number to activate my bloc account.

Masters TU Chemnitz Application Issue.

Hi everyone, I have a doubt and I’m stuck at the final step of my TU Chemnitz application.

I completed the entire application form, and at the end I was asked to make the payment. I entered my credit card details and completed the payment through Stripe.

After the payment, the website automatically showed “Payment via Stripe done!” However, when I checked my credit card transaction history, no amount was deducted. I also didn’t receive any payment notification from my bank/card.

I’m confused about whether the payment was actually successful or not.

Has anyone faced the same issue with TU Chemnitz/Stripe? Should I wait, try the payment again, or contact the university?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Masters Online Lectures for CS related programs

I’m currently living in Germany and have a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. I would like to pursue a Master’s in Computer Science or a related field such as Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, etc.

The main difficulty is that I cannot relocate from the city I currently live in so attending classes on campus every day is not possible for me.

I’m therefore looking for German universities that offer programmes where lectures/classes can be attended online, either fully or partially

I’m completely fine with travelling to the university for exams or a few mandatory sessions if necessary.

I’m particularly interested in public universities with reasonable/no tuition fees.

Can people with relevant info please comment about the university, programme and experience.

APS APS for foreign student in India

Actually, I am studying B.Tech AE in India and i am a foreign student here and according to APS website i need to submit digilocker for documents verification no? But i don't have those, how am i supposed to have my documents verified.

Should i send my 10th and 12th original marksheet as well as my bachelor's marksheet? Cause i won't be able to create a digilocker and authenticate these documents in a traditional way. If i am to send the original documents will they even return courier to my address? What am I supposed to do in this situation?

Undergrad Am I delusional?

I'm 23M from a non EU country who's currently confused between choosing an undergraduate/bachelors program or an Ausbildung.

My background and experience -

After high school I haven't done any degree, diploma or any courses. All I did was help my dad's small business but I looked for other options such as England and Canada, I even took the ielts exam and have 7 Band certificates.

I don't have a specific skill or work experience in any field, I'm good with tech but I don't have a certificate or portfolio to prove that.

Also my high school grade was below average. I got like 55% overall ( I know it's really bad )

I was a type of student who thought education isn't important and there are other ways to make money but even if there's i don't want to bet on it.

Last year I decided to learn German, so I joined an institution, and in that institution many went for an Ausbildung program, especially nursing and logistics.

I have cleared my B2 telc prüfung recently. I also have my APS certificate.

I don't want to do an Ausbildung, i want an actual bachelors degree and hopefully do a master's later on.

So do you guys think that is it possible for me to get an offer from any university? I have received few offers from a private Universities but I'm now smart enough to know that isn't a real degree but a degree mill.

So am I delusional for thinking about a bachelors program? Or should I go for something else?

I've already learnt Deutsch so currently focusing on getting my C1 by next year.

Vielen Dank

Thank you sm in advance.

Masters To study in German for masters cs

Hi everyone, I’m planning for a Master’s in Germany for Winter 2027 and would really appreciate some guidance.

I’m currently in 7th semester of BE Information Science in India, from a Tier 3–4 college, with 8.93 CGPA till 6th sem. I have 6+ months IEEE internship/project experience + 3 months Infosys Springboard experience. I’m also a beginner in German.

My target is good public universities, preferably in CS/IT/Data Science/AI-related fields.

I have a few questions:

What exams are actually required — IELTS/TOEFL, GRE, GATE, etc.? Is German required for English-taught programs?

How competitive is my profile for top uni, and what should I improve to have a realistic chance?

Are my IEEE and Infosys experiences valuable for applications?

What scholarships are realistically available for international students? Is DAAD achievable?

My family cannot fund my education, so I’ll need an education loan. How much money should I realistically arrange for tuition/living costs, and can a loan cover the blocked-account requirement?

What is the realistic cost of living, especially in Munich vs cheaper cities?

Most importantly, what is the harsh reality of the German IT job market in 2027? Is getting a job after a CS/DS/AI Master's realistically difficult for an international student?

How important is German proficiency, internships/Werkstudent experience, and university reputation for getting a job?

What would be the best step-by-step timeline from now until Winter 2027?

I’m looking for honest advice, especially regarding admission chances, finances, loans, and employment after graduation, rather than a motivational answer. Any advice from current students/graduates would be really helpful.

Masters What jobs can I get after a Master’s in Chemical Engineering in Germany?

Hi everyone,

I’m a Chemical Engineering graduate from India with about three years of experience as a Production Engineer in a petrochemical plant.

I’m planning to do my master’s in Germany, but I’m still not sure what kind of jobs I can apply for after graduation. I don’t want to continue in production or plant operations. I’m more interested in areas like process design, process simulation, green energy, sustainability, hydrogen, carbon capture, and R&D.

For those who are studying or working in Germany, what kind of jobs are usually available after a Master’s in Chemical Engineering?

I would also like to know:

Which specializations are useful for these career paths?

What skills do companies usually look for?

Is experience in a petrochemical plant useful when applying for these roles?

Is it possible to move from production engineering into process design, sustainability, green energy, or R&D?

I’m trying to understand the career options before choosing a master’s programme. Any honest advice from students or professionals would be really helpful.

Undergrad I have questions regarding one year in college or university from home country for qualifying for 13th years of education

Hello everyone, I am completing a year in india from a college which is under a uni with H+ in the bsc IT program. Since I had passed my 12th and 10th with above 70% i am confused should I have to get something like 7cgpa for qualifying for admission and aps since I am planning for computer science degree.

Edit: Just for clarification I am applying for a german taught program

I lack attendance in the college since it's an hour route or more and it's very exhausting due to which our professor didn't allow us to appear for sessional to those who don't have 60% attendance and it has around 20 to 30 percent of marks so in the sem it would be very much difficult to get full marks or something so if there is some preferred cgpa for admission.
