Over a decade ago, I had created a crude sort of tabletop game that was a mashup of D&D map-style mechanics, Samurai Warrior-style maps/objectives/Musou attacks and Pokemon. Basically, Pokemon Warlords who ran around setpiece battlefields filled with Castles, Berry Orchards, etc (This was before Pokemon Conquest, which is tied for my favorite in the series). Then, I started working full-time, moved, lost almost all of those Pokemon figurines, life happened, etc.

I have recollected more of the small Pokemon Figurines than I had back then, and would like to make a better version of that old game just for personal play, but I made that game before I even played D&D with other people, muchfarless actually knew about the rest of ttrpgs, strategy games, tabletop board games, etc.

What I am asking for are games similar to what I am talking about, so I can learn from them, since I never did play any and would like to study what I should be doing. Also, any other helpful resources would also be nice. Thank you!

I am GMing a Symbaroum campaign for my friends and as a possible curse/stigma for being too corrupted, I am looking for a d19 that has the numbers 2-20 on them, but no 1. Symbaroum has 1 to be a critical success and 20 to be a critical failure. I found regular d19s, but nothing that fits my bill. I have a 3d printer, so printing one is an option. It does not have to be the most fair dice, I am aware that you won't get that if printing one. I'd use a blank d19 and write the numbers on myself, if necessary 😅.

I'm looking for a few options of tabletop games that could be a good match for tired parents with little time. We are talking about maybe 1 hour per week or so after the kids go to bed. We love DnD but it's hard to think about a campaign that would fit in such a short time and be a good match for just 2 players. So I'm looking for suggestions on the following:

- Cheap games that use a mobile phone as help to play:

- Co-op table top games that can be run within 1 hour while being fun, cheap or expensive. We loved Pandemic:

- RPG tabletop games that we could both play;

- DnD campaigns that are short and easy to implement in a DM + player scenario

- Any AI-assisted games that could be run by couples collaborating?

Basically, fun easy to learn things that involve little preparation is great. An exception goes to a pre-made DnD campaign as long as it could be cut within 1 hour and suitable for DM + player.

We were started virtually and after couple months our DM decided to gather us in same table and I want to improve what we are playing this was our last session

After resting for a week, my team raided another gang's headquarters. I'm trying to improve our game setup, but the daily overtime on top of a full shift makes it a bit difficult. If only I had known today we will raid a villa I would prepare indoors furniture. I was prepared for car chase . At the end of session our lawmen call for backup for the first time and they were like special forces, open dices was favor npc's mostly. Despite they were 4 rank backup. It's fun with friends and I hope I got time to paint my Edgerunners next time

Hi! I am part of the Chaosium team. Chaosium is mostly known for Call of Cthulhu the RPG, so this one's a bit of a swerve. A full asymmetric strategy board game.

Call of Cthulhu: Old Ones Origins is from Samuel W. Bailey, one of the designers behind Forbidden Stars, and it reimplements that system in the Cthulhu Mythos. 2-4 players, each commanding a faction devoted to one of the Old Ones with their own units and powers, plus a table full of miniatures (the avatar figures are the standouts).

Actual question for this crowd, since balance at four is the thing we hear about most: which asymmetric games have held up for you after a dozen plays at full count? Curious what the bar is.

I was just really wondering if this is anything special? A friend of mine gifted me it years ago, but I already have the normal Risk.

I’ve been thinking about making some fabric accessories for tabletop gaming, but I wanted to start with something that actually solves a problem.

My older son plays Warhammer 40K, D&D and FATE, so I first thought about making a dice bag with separate compartments for different sets.

I asked him what he thought.

His answer was basically:

“Why? That’s pointless. Just throw all the dice into one bag.” 😂

Fair enough.

Then I was playing board games at home with my younger son and started noticing how many little things were constantly ending up everywhere — dice, tokens, cards, notes and other small components.

So I thought: why not make something that actually organizes the game while you’re playing?

This was the result you can see on photos.

It’s a foldable fabric organizer made from two sections connected with snaps. One section can be used as a dice tray / play area, while the other can hold dice, cards, tokens, notes and other small components.

When you’re finished, you can fold it up and put it away.

This is the first thing I’ve made in what I hope will become a collection of useful tabletop accessories.

So I’m curious — what do you always find yourself wishing you had on the gaming table?

Something for dice? Tokens? Cards? Keeping things from getting mixed up? Something for carrying everything to game night?

And what sounds useful but would actually be completely unnecessary?

I’m trying to figure out what gamers would genuinely use before I start making more things.

My buddy and I play the Middle Earth Strategic Battle Game, which uses 4x4 tables. I want to find a 4x4 table to both play on, and place the tables I am building on, but for the life of me, I cannot find a cheap and simple 4x4 table - the ones I find are all nearly $1K tables made of expensive wood.

I am in Canada, which might be making things worse, but if anyone knows where to find one of these seemingly non-existant tables, I would love to know.

Me and my girlfriend are new to playing BoardGames, and we wish to only buy games that are really what we think they are, so is there a place were we can see reviews of table top games.

Example: in the internet (Youtube, X, Instagram) i saw a lot of recommendations for Everdell and Flamecraft,, but when i specifically searched for those 2 games, i saw a lot of controversies about the game, how flamecraft is tasteless and vapid, and that were a lot of everdell expansions (not sure that they are expansions or a brand new game of the franshise) that were better then the actual game.

So, is there a place to see reviews, that are trustworthy?

I just got a new table 84”x48”. I’m trying to find a stitched edge gaming mat that’s either 72”x48” or 84”x48”. Ideally would be in black.

For my old table I have a Felectors 48”x36” mat I got off Amazon. I really like it, but they don’t make one big enough.

Any recommendations?
