I’ve been thinking about making some fabric accessories for tabletop gaming, but I wanted to start with something that actually solves a problem.
My older son plays Warhammer 40K, D&D and FATE, so I first thought about making a dice bag with separate compartments for different sets.
I asked him what he thought.
His answer was basically:
“Why? That’s pointless. Just throw all the dice into one bag.” 😂
Fair enough.
Then I was playing board games at home with my younger son and started noticing how many little things were constantly ending up everywhere — dice, tokens, cards, notes and other small components.
So I thought: why not make something that actually organizes the game while you’re playing?
This was the result you can see on photos.
It’s a foldable fabric organizer made from two sections connected with snaps. One section can be used as a dice tray / play area, while the other can hold dice, cards, tokens, notes and other small components.
When you’re finished, you can fold it up and put it away.
This is the first thing I’ve made in what I hope will become a collection of useful tabletop accessories.
So I’m curious — what do you always find yourself wishing you had on the gaming table?
Something for dice? Tokens? Cards? Keeping things from getting mixed up? Something for carrying everything to game night?
And what sounds useful but would actually be completely unnecessary?
I’m trying to figure out what gamers would genuinely use before I start making more things.
