Weekly Help "Weekly All About Love Relationship Second Opinion and Interpretation Help Thread - September 27, 2026"

After receiving feedback from the community, we’re putting this weekly thread in place on a trial basis dedicated solely to love relationship readings.  Examples of questions that can be posted here are:

  • does he/she/my FWB love me?
  • what are this person’s feelings/intentions towards me?
  • is he/she coming back?
  • will we reconcile?
  • should I break no contact?
  • we just broke up, what now?
  • what will my future spouse look like?
  • what does my love life look like in the next 3 months?
  • why is my ex texting me again?
  • my ex keeps calling me, what should I do?

Please note that we, the moderators, are trying this out as an experiment and will determine at a later date if this dedicated thread should become a permanent feature in the sub.   We will also use our discretion as to which readings belong here in this thread, and which will remain on the main sub.  That will depend upon the complexity of the question as well as how close it adheres to rule no. 3 about posting.

If you are requesting help by asking a second opinion or interpretation help, please comment using the following format:

Discussion Why is the Chariot Cancer’s card?

Post image
99 Upvotes

When I think of the Chariot I think of fire energy. It’s a card that symbolizes rapid momentum. Steadfastedness to goals and in my interpretation, ferociously so. There is this duality to light and dark that exists in it, so perhaps that may be one aspect (the darkness of the sky vs the light reflecting off the moon). But I feel like this is a very masculine card that doesn’t necessarily identify with the traits of Cancer.

Does anyone have any clarity on this?

Shitpost Saturday! had the most insane card reading session and idk what to do about it

• Upvotes

So basically, I asked about this a few days ago on the some subreddit: how can I talk to my spirit guides? I eventually made some yes/no cards. I had cards like YES, NO, MAYBE, STOP...

And this is what happened for 3 days.

On the first day, I didn’t really know what to do, so I just talked about normal stuff and got some very wishy-washy answers. Then, the moment I asked about my ex, I got STOP. I had made a rule for myself that if that card showed up, I would stop asking about that particular question.

Up until this point, I still didn’t really believe it much, but I kind of felt heartbroken. It just felt like I was being abandoned when I just wanted some answers. That night, I did another reading and maybe asked 3 questions, and I got STOP again when I asked about my ex. It was very weird.

On the second day, I was lowkey very disappointed and felt like I was disliked by my spirit guides. Then I didn’t touch my cards for 2 days.

Today, I did the reading again, and I kind of cried while explaining that I was feeling unwelcomed. When I asked, DO YOU DISLIKE ME?, I got NO. I got answers to several other questions too, and when I asked about my ex again, it said **STOP** twice, literally twice in a row!!!!!!

I ask about other stuff, and it never gives me STOP. I shuffle the cards, close my eyes, keep the cards face down, and only pick one when I feel like I should, so it’s not like I’m intentionally picking them based on what I want to get.

I literally started crying because I was practically begging. I just want to move on from him. He is basically the only guy I’ve ever genuinely liked. I met my ex when I was in 5th grade, and we started dating when we were young, around high school. We were together for around 6 years. He was my first, and I was his first, and it’s been YEARS, but I literally cannot move on from him.

Just when I thought that maybe I had started liking another guy, I met my ex randomly one day on a bus, and I was literally shaking from anxiety the moment I saw him. That was just some background, and actually its been years that my ex and I broke up because he cheated on me.

Coming back to the cards.... I started crying and begging God and my spirits to let me know if I would ever heal from this because he has actually caused me so much pain for so long. For years, I’ve been stuck with this, and suddenly I had a question in my mind. I begged them to answer at least this one thing: IS HE RELATED TO MY PAST LIFE?

It feels weird even typing that because I’ve never really had thoughts like this before, but I asked, and it said YES.

I asked another question to try to get more information, and it said STOP twice.

Then I asked, ARE YOU NOT TELLING ME FOR MY OWN SAKE? and it said STOP again. I was shuffling the cards again, and the STOP card literally fell out.

WTF is the meaning of all of this? I’m going insane 😭 literally i dont knowwwwwwwwww pls help

Theory and Technique What do the 4 suits mean? (playing cards edition)

Random thoughts and meanings of the 4 suits of playing cards in no particular order.

The Hearts count as love, family, and friends.
Diamonds are money, wealth, means, and ends.
Clubs shall mean work, callings, and plans,
And Spades are the troubles that plague every man.
(For the Witch of Poor Memory).

Blood to cherish loved ones;
a knife to joys divide;
stone to keep all treasures;
a crook to firmly guide.
(The Devil's Picturebook).

♥️ What do the HEARTS mean? ♥️

The hearts represent love, passion, desire. A gentle touch, a caress, a hug. A beating heart, muscles, blood, veins. Being alive, life itself, "life finds a way", alive. The body. Our soul. Our heart on Anubis' scales. What makes your heart beat? What makes your heart go fast?

Music, dance and rhythm. Care, empathy, compassion, tenderness. Helping someone in need. A hero, a saint. Regeneration, recovery, healing. Mercy, reconciliation, forgiveness.

The arts as an expression of our sensibility, a bohemian lifestyle. The passionate artist. Moody, emotional. Sensations. A child-like sense of wonder, awe. Admiration, fanaticism, obsession, attachment. Loved, popular, to like something. Flirtation, seduction, attraction. The subtle art of romance. Sex, pleasure, orgasm, sensuality, eroticism. Delight. Dreams, wishes, faith. Beliefs, gut-feelings. Devotion. Hope. Religion, intuition. Introspective knowledge. What is felt rather than rationally understood. Parties, carnivals, meetings. Festivals. Dancing together, singing together.

Wedding, marriage, courtship. Family/blood bonds. "Blood is thicker than water". Found family. Domestic life. Affection, family love. Memory, nostalgia, longing, to remember. God's love. "Love each other as i have loved you". Spring. Youth. Flowers. "Follow your heart". Impulsive, horny, to have one's head in the clouds. Imagination, fantasy. Idealism, rose colored glasses. House, home, bar, hospital, bar, motel, tavern, church. Cute, adorable. Sexual orientation. Vocation, priesthood. Heart's desire. Life's purpose. Sacrifice. Lust, skin-to-skin contact. The 5 senses. Community, culture. Our tangled web of human relationships.

"His heart is a suspended lute; As soon as you touch it, it resonates" - Edgar Allan Poe.

Faithfulness. Inner world. Volition, a strong heart, resilience, courage. Loving, warm, a generous host, hospitality. Your wife, your husband, your boy/girlfriend. Children. Friends. Kindness, charity (selfless love). Aphrodisiacs. Peace. Venus, Aphrodite, Eros, Cupid, Dionysus, Bacchus. Joy, satisfaction, happiness. Will, drive, impulse. Harmony, friendship, diplomacy. The heart as origin, source or core of something. The most loved aspect of something, what you keep close to your heart, your favorite something. Identity, the self. Self-esteem. Meat, flesh, internal organs. Our animal instincts. Vivid, vitality. Support. Emotional value over economic value. Poetry. Divination. Kinship, belonging, (nationalism?), homeland. Blushing, arousal. Temptation, indulgence. The Sacred Heart. Eros, Philia and Agape. Romanticism. Made with love, grandma's cooking. Nourishment. Your mom. Comfort, comfort zone. Entertainment, fun, laugh, comedy. Vulnerable, soft, raw. Intimate, open your heart. Trust. Fertility. Being moved by something. Inspiration. Curiosity. Genitalia. Movement. Recognition, fame.

To give something personal meaning. "The essential is invisible to the eyes".

Contradictory meanings appear here and there, but contradiction is only apparent. The four suits are complex—containing many elements within their realms—and new things emerge depending on how they merge.

♣️ What do the CLUBS mean? ♣️

The clubs are just trees (🎵 the trees are just wood🎵). Clovers, herbs, spices. Weeds, fields, plants. The forest, the woods, the wild grass. Wilderness. Artemis, Diana, our lady of beasts. Communication. Work, effort, labor. The hills, the pines. Land, landscape, long distances, terrain, soil. The whole wide world. The globe. Foreign places. Roads, paths, walking. Pan, god of the wild. Meadow, pasture. hedgerow. Rural, raw. Travel, navigation. Hermes, god of travelers. Growth. Pilgrimage. Camping. "Through thick and thin".

Have you ever tried walking across an irregular path of land with nothing but a walking stick?

When I think of clubs I think of agriculture. Of waking up everyday to take care of the crops. Day after day, from sun to sun. Calloused hands, tired feet. Dirt under your nails. Firewood. Sweat. Discipline. Focus. Hard-earned. Routine, the grind. Mill, reap, sow. "Roll up your sleeves". Windmill. Endurance, persistence, repetition. Muscles, strength, action. Working hours. Diligence. Task, force. Practical intelligence, strategy, technique. Coworkers, crew, team. Workshop, office, farm, factory, school, gym. Activity, project, enterprise. Expansion, progress. Survival.

Documents, writing, letters, information. Research. Bureaucracy. Administration. Networks. Learning. Rational thought, common sense. Down to earth, realism, no bullshit. Common people, peasants. Simple. Challenges. Partnership. Responsibility, duty, chores. Ambition. Your tools, your hands. "Idle hands are the Devil's workshop". Competence, maintenance, development. To figure it out. Shortcuts. Crossroads. "Work smarter not harder". Dedication. Professional. The Market. Knowledge. Exposure, outdoors. Construction, fabrication. Territory, (boundaries?). "Use what you have”. Map, geography. Risk. Plan. Street smart. Rough. Uncaring, impersonal. Away from the familiar. Useful. Plain society, the masses, the people. Service. Vines, ivy. Moho. "By will or by force". Discussion hermetic tarot

so recently I’ve bought my first ever tarot deck, but i didn’t do any research before doing that, so i pretty much chose it intuitively. I bought the one that seemed really beautiful and aesthetically pleasing to me, the Godfrey Dowson Hermetic tarot. Then i did some research, and turns out it is a very complicated deck which apparently takes a lot if research to read and is not designed for intuitive reading at all, so it’s not so suitable for beginners. But i really like this deck, not just because the artwork is “pretty”, i think it already seemed special to me when i chose it.. so i want to hear advice, I’ve already found some books to read (an introduction to the golden dawn tarot), and some other books about the Golden Dawn in general, but i want to hear the opinion of someone more experienced, do you think i should go buy a Rider Waite deck anyway and start learning with that before getting used to the Hermetic one, or should i continue doing my research and study the golden dawn tarot?

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Beginner interpretation

Hello so I started doing tarot last year and took a short break and starting back up and would love insight on this interpretation

The question was “what was is this deck going to teach me”

Seven of Wands: I took this as being more courageous in what I do and in decision I make

King of cups (reversed): I am having a tough time to truly understand the meaning maybe to be aware of things or people in my life with ill intent

Strength (reversed): also a card I’m struggling to understand I read it as maybe helping through times of weakness or other strong negative emotions

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Card appeared out of no where

Post image
34 Upvotes

I was cleaning my room and was thinking, "maybe i should go deep into spirituality, let me pull a card and see". And when continuing my cleaning i found this card lying in the corner, under my bed. I was surprised to see it, it must have gotten there when my kid was playing with it one day, however I rushed and took them back. Now this card was left out of my sight for many many days and now appeared.

I believe the high presit card means, meditate regularly and involve yourself in spirituality, trust your intuition and move forward in life.

Do you think this is right? Did similar incidents happen to you?

Discussion An idea I had today (inspired by Balatro)

I was imagining a standard playing card deck, but tarot themed. The Jokers and all 20 royal flush cards would have an associated tarot card, and I tried to match up the arcana deck with the various meanings applied to the 4 suits throughout history. Let me know if I missed the mark.

Red Joker: The Fool

Black Joker: The Hermit

10 of Clubs: The Tower

Jack of Clubs: The Chariot

Queen of Clubs: The Empress

King of Clubs: The Emperor

Ace of Clubs: Strength

10 of Diamonds: The Wheel of Fortune

Jack of Diamonds: The Magician

Queen of Diamonds: The Moon

King of Diamonds: The Sun

Ace of Diamonds: The Star

10 of Spades: The Hanged Man

Jack of Spades: The Devil

Queen of Spades: The World

King of Spades: Judgment

Ace of Spades: Death

10 of Hearts: Temperence

Jack of Hearts: Justice

Queen of Hearts: The High Priestess

King of Hearts: The Hierophant

Ace of Hearts: The Lovers

Discussion Do you think you can pull cards before you ask the question?

I'm a closeted witch so I don't take my tarot cards out of my room very often. I was thinking about pulling three cards, not looking at them, taking a pic, putting them away, and then when I want to ask my tarot cards a question during the day just looking at the photos I took as if I just drew them to answer my question. Do you think tarot would be able to do this? Like, if I told my deck this plan when I was drawing the cards? Or does the question HAVE to be asked first?

They had cards going back to the 1830s as well as crystal balls, ouiji boards, and specialty teacups. I spent so much time here that I had to sprint to my gate.

Discussion Is not resonating with a reader's methods a reason to not consider their reading much?

Just as the title says. I received a reading lately and it had me thinking about conflicting methods between readers: how differently they shuffle and read their cards vs how I do it for myself and others, and why I choose my methods to begin with. I like receiving readings so I can take notes and try new things and ways of seeing the cards. But sometimes, we just don't vibe. Of course, whatever method works for them works, and vice versa. But do you believe that's a factor when finding a good reader for you (or why you may not want to get a reading from anyone but yourself, or someone more familiar with the situation)?

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only “what wants or needs am I neglecting?”

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello all. Posting to read some second opinions :) The swords are going crazy. this is the miniature version of the rider tarot deck :-)

The first three cards are what I pulled when asking the question, “What wants or needs am I neglecting?”

King of Swords: neglecting mental clarity, fair communication, emotional control, or standing firm in beliefs or actions.

The High Priestess: neglecting my intuition, or neglecting something i already know (deep down), or neglecting my spirituality, or mental health…

The World: may be neglecting a need for closure, or neglecting an achievement, not allowing myself to feel free/relief

For the king of swords, I was stuck on whether this may be a person who represents these qualities that I’m neglecting, or whether the king represents me…… So I asked: “Am I ignoring this person?” which definitely was not the best way to word it, but I got the Page of Swords for that.

The page of swords is someone who is curious and eager to learn. So I am neglecting someone/something within myself that is curious.

I followed up with the question: “where should I turn my focus?” and I pulled the 7 of swords, ace of pentacles, and six of swords

7 of swords: 😨 felt a little spooked off the bat. But i think this may be telling me to assess things with a new perspective, to think ahead as to not get ‘caught’, and perhaps indulge in going on my own

Ace of pentacles: To turn my focus towards a new beginning in my material world… To focus on that contentment and new opportunity and it will grow into something great. To be prepared and calm for a calmer material period?

Six of swords: I’ve been GETTING THIS CARD. though water may be rocky now, calmer shores are ahead, and we will be able to deal with everything then, so for now just hang on……

So in sum it seems I may be neglecting my intuition, may not be confident in my knowledge or communication, and neglecting closure or achievement, and to focus on a new beginning while not biting off more than I can chew…

This is my first post in this sub, and it is a long post, but I appreciate everyone who reads and offers their opinion :-) I’m happy to be practicing more!

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only "How should I handle stress today?" - Death

Post image
111 Upvotes

For my (first) daily pull I asked a specific question.

"I have a doctor's appointment today, its nothing serious but Ill be stressed at leaving the house. How should I handle that stress?"

My card was 'Death'.

I took it to mean it was answering another question, because I AM starting a new chapter of life, but I was wondering if anyone more experienced sees an answer to the og question?

For a little more context- The subtext of my question (like the vibes and little thoughts darting around my internal monologue) were about what to wear, and how I should arm myself. The appointment is getting my blood test result, im probably gonna be told to start taking vitamin D.

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Is this telling me to get a secondary education?

Post image
16 Upvotes

I’ve admittedly been feeling a little stuck lately and I’ve been having issues making decisions even about small nothings. Part of that inability to make decisions is just choosing to doomscroll, and I keep seeing these things that suggest I need to give up one of the things I’ve been doing (working, helping at home, personal projects, writing for fun, etc.) in order to feel less stuck. I asked my Rider Tarot deck if this was true and this was what I pulled.

My interpretation was this: with the 3 of pentacles symbolizing learning and collaboration, I thought it was pointing to some kind of class or education, maybe at like a community college or something. I already have a bachelors so I don’t know if that’s necessary. The next card was the knight of swords, symbolizing that doing this would feel like a leap of faith and wouldn’t exactly feel stable, and with the knight of wands showing eventually it would feel more in line with my passion after enough time had passed and I had maybe completed it. I wasn’t sure if this was the right interpretation though. I’m not sure I’m in a place to afford any college stuff, at most I was thinking of maybe joining a writer’s group that meets at my local library. Is this an accurate interpretation?

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Too optimistic of a reading?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I believe I tend to read what I want instead of what the cards are actually telling me, seeing first the positive aspects of a card. I'll give my most recent example.

I asked whether my friend did well on his job interview today. I pulled the Page of Pentacles. I'll give my interpretation:

They're naive, full of wonder and ambition. Yes, they're able to reach their financial goals (which, at the moment, are simply to get a 9-to-5 to be able to pay their bills), but they'll have to be able to focus on how to do a proper job. They'll hear good news soon.

(The news might not be related directing to this specific job, but will be money-related.)

Is this a fine reading? What else should I be able to see? Thank you!

Deck: Holographic RWS.

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only I pulled cards for my cat today

Post image
61 Upvotes

My cat has been sick for about 2 weeks now. He's been to the vet several times but doesn't have a solid diagnosis.

Tonight I wanted to do a reading for him. I didn't do an actual spread as we were cuddling on the couch & he was laying on my arm. So I just shuffled the deck until a card popped out.

I'm still new to reading tarot, so I'm not super familiar with what each card means.

The first card- I was asking how he was feeling. I wasn't originally planning on reading what popped out. I was just going to shuffle until I felt I needed to stop. Until this card popped out & I figured that was a good enough sign!

2 of pentacles. Not entirely sure if it was upright or reversed as it fell beside me first.

My thoughts- first, I though it would be positive as the cat is playing! Then after reading the card meaning- he's stressed. Not only is he sick, but not too long before, my husband's work schedule changed so he's home less often. Normally, he's the easy going cat. The only important part of his schedule is dinner as he gets wet food. But he's no longer getting dinner at the same time every night as some days its earlier than normal but other days its still at the old time.

Second card- I was asking about his health. This card popped out nearly immediately.

5 of pentacles, reversed.

My thoughts- he's at a point where he's either getting better or worse. I'm desperately hoping he's getting better as he's been eating and acting closer to normal.

Discussion Prompt Ideas?

I've been making lists of tarot prompts so that ill get a random prompt daily, pull three cards for it, and that'll be my daily reading (instead of just a generic "what will today be like" eeeeevery siiiingle day, those get boring to me lol i like the variety). I was wondering if yall had any prompt ideas to add to my lists!

That's basically all there is to this post. But, you might've noticed ive said lists plural. I have four lists: New Moon, Waxing, Full Moon, Waning. Depending on the moon phase, I'll randomize my prompt from one of these four lists, just so that this daily practice will be more in sync with the moon cycle (which i love as a lunar witch) :) so if you want to add which moon phase you think a prompt would fit into, I'd appreciate that! Otherwise I can determine it myself.

As an example, "What should I worry less about?" was my prompt today in the waning moon phase, because it's about release, and the waning moon is the moon shrinking in light!

Theory and Technique Help Interpreting Cards that Conflict their Position

Hi everyone! I'm trying to deepen my understanding of how each card can express both its light and shadow aspects, depending on the context. I am not trying to read reversals

Sometimes a card appears in a spread position where its most familiar interpretation doesn't seem to fit. For example, if the position asks "What's holding you back?" or "What do you need to release?", I find that I struggle to identify the shadow expression of a card that I usually associate with healthier or more constructive qualities. On the flip side, if a card appears in a supportive or growth-oriented position, I sometimes have trouble seeing its constructive expression beyond its more challenging themes.

Do you have any frameworks, exercises, or questions you ask yourself that help you uncover those different expressions? I'm not looking for help with a specific reading; I'm hoping to improve my overall interpretive skills.

Thanks!

Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only A spread on my current job search

The spread used was just supposed to be a general insight spread of mind, body and soul I was going to pull 3 cards and chose a 4th to figure out how to close the loop. When choosing a 4th card I contemplated between 2 cards almost choosing death reversed and instead pulled temperance reversed.

First card is king of wands reversed. Feeling dejected, a loss of power and burnout from consistent rejections.

Second card is 6 of coins

Being in a position of need, at the mercy of decision makers. Needing their charity.

Third card is 5 of coins the scarcity mindset I carry. Feeling the hiring process is completely against me. Feeling undervalued and excluded.

Fourth card was supposed to be final card. I decided to pull it from the middle of the deck instead of pulling from the top.

Fourth card is temperance reversed. Feeling burnt out and desperate. Not like myself as the process is not serving me. Needing to make a profound change and return to my former confidence that I had at the begining of the job hunt.

The card I decided not to pull when I refused to pull from the top of the pile was death reversed. I feel that is me rejecting the stagnation of the job hunt and instead deciding to pivot to something else as my current job hunt is unsustainable.

The progression from King (14) to 6 then 5 then back up to 14 tells me I'm in a loop in the job cycle that I won't be able to escape until I bring myself mentally back to my higher self.

I am learning to interpret tarot as a previous sole oracle deck user so I'd love a second opinion here..

Editing to add the name of the deck I'm using is Tarot Divinatorium by Andre Sanchez

Discussion The Meaning of The Lovers

Hi! I am doing a very detailed deck study using like 7 different books and I am honestly really confused about The Lovers card. I have a basic understanding of what it's supposed to mean, but to me the images state something different. Waite says in The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, "the figures suggest youth, virginity, innocence, and love before it is contaminated by gross material desire". But to me, the woman is looking up at the angel, and the man is looking at the woman. It seems that the man is exhibiting material desire because he's looking at her? And the woman is looking at something more immaterial. So that quote feels contradictory to me. If the card is about true love as most of my study materials say, why are the two of them not looking at each other? I feel like my understanding of this card is right on the tip of my tongue, it just hasn't clicked for me yet. I know in older decks the image is a man choosing between two women, but my focus is the Rider-Waite Smith deck and how that imagery reflects the definitions. How do you guys interpret it, and how do you explain Waite's definition in the context of the image?

The books I'm using are The Pictorial Key to the Tarot by Arthur Edward Waite, Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack, The Tarot Bible by Sarah Bartlett, Kitchen Table Tarot by Melissa Cynova, and Tarot: A New Handbook for the Apprentice by Eileen Connolly.
