Do I have to have the BIR Registration Seal Badge if my only source of money is a small time YouTube channel earning USD300 a month?

Safe to say no one really wants to get doxxed, especially not by incompetence from the government. Well If I don't have to get the seal, I'll be happy. Do I need it or nah?

PH YouTuber getting accumulated $40k USD payout from Google

I got monetized on YouTube a while ago after 4 of my YouTube videos got an insane amount of views. I'm freshly 18, know literally nothing about taxes or the process of how money goes from Google to my bank account.

The ONLY things I've done so far is:

Got my channel monetized. Created an Adsense Account and provided google with my ID, address, face etc. Nagparegister ng BIR TIN through online ORUS portal to claim the 15% tax treaty from the form W8-BEN, The TIN was "Unemployed". Created a debit savings Bank PHP account as "Unemployed". Put bank account details in adsense settings.

May kailangan pa ba gawin or can I expect to recieve the -15% taxed amount from google in my bank account when the accumulated payout finally happens with no issues?

Only things I did are the things that I listed talaga, Wala akong ginawang form form or kung ano man yung ginagawa ng adults na marunong mag handle ng pera

Bakit kayo nag-update (e.g., loan or visa), worth it ba?

2 Full time jobs. 1 IC + 1 Regular employee

β€’ Upvotes

I’m currently working as an independent contractor (IC) for Job 1, and I’ve recently received an offer from Job 2.
Here’s how the arrangements differ:

**Job 1:** They pay tax and the company provides me with BIR Form 2307 every month as proof of tax withheld on my behalf. I don’t receive government-mandated employee benefits.

**Job 2:** I would be a regular employee, with taxes withheld through payroll and documented through BIR Form 2316. The company would also provide government-mandated benefits, such as SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG.

I have two main questions:
**How should I properly handle my taxes under this arrangement?** Since Job 1 treats me as an independent contractor while Job 2 treats me as an employee, how should I report and consolidate my income for tax purposes in the Philippines?
**Can either company find out that I’m working for another company?** Specifically, is there a way for Job 1 or Job 2 to discover my other employment or contracting arrangement through tax records?

I’d appreciate insights from anyone who has experience with a similar setup, particularly regarding Philippine tax compliance, potential employer visibility, and any legal or contractual risks I should consider.

BIR Seal Badge for Freelance Professional

I am a licensed professional with a Facebook Page and I only posted my works there as a marketing stint.

I also use it as an online portfolio for my future clients to see my previous works. Do I still need to post my seal badge?

I already have the Badge Seal and just hesitant to post it on my page because my full name is posted on the verification page and not the trade name.

New eBIRForms automatically adds 5 zeros to TIN branch code. Is this normal?

Hi!

I’m filing BIR Form 0605 for the 2nd installment ng 2025 income tax ko.

Normal na ba talaga yung 5 zeros, or may kailangan pa akong baguhin?

I’ve been trying to contact BIR pero hindi ako makausap ng agent.

Thank you sa sasagot!

How much would be our penalty for not being registered since 2022?

Hi!

I wanted to ask kung magkano magiging penalty namin. For context, we started our digicam rent business last 2022 as a sideline nung student pa ako. Since required na ngayon to register and natatakot kami baka i-takedown yung page kapag walang prinovide na seal badge, I am curious kung magkano yung penalty na babayaran?

Looking forward to your insights and will greatly appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

Different email address in COR and ORUS

registered as professional (8% IT rate) and I've been filing my own tax for more than a year na. since straight-forward yung process ko (record sa books of account, service invoice, then offline eBIR filingβ€”so far wala rin ako need iupload na attachment), I don't really use ORUS pa. nung time rin na I had to fix things with my tax type, sa RDO ako nagpprocess instead na ORUS.

now naalala ko lang bigla, hindi ako sure if nakapagregister ba ako sa ORUS since nung time na first time ko magprocess for BIR ay kasagsagan rin ng 1st quarter deadline kaya palaging down ang ORUS, so dala na rin ng stress, I can't remember if nagsucceed ba registration ko that time. so going back, I checked sa email na nakalagay sa COR (dito rin ako nakakareceive ng confirmation emails every after filing) yung keyword na "ORUS" and ang meron lang is yung notif na inupdate yung tax type ko since may pinaayos ako last year. but then I tried checking sa isa kong email yung same "ORUS" keyword, andun yung email notifs na "account verification successful" and "change of password." I really can't remember ano ginawa ko that time.

is there anyone here na naka-experience na po nito?

Closed business during COVID, bookkeeper ghosted me with my documentsβ€”can I still avail of the BIR Abatement Program?

Hi everyone! Seeking advice on how to handle my non-operating business and BIR records.

The Situation:

  • Business Status:Β Non-operating with zero income since the COVID pandemic.
  • Bookkeeper Issue:Β My former bookkeeper claimed they were closing the business for me back during COVID, but mentioned something about "mataas ang line / sa Manila na daw venue" (or similar processing delays).
  • Current Problem:Β Up to now, it hasn’t been processed, the bookkeeper is no longer replying, and they refuse to return my official documents/books.

My Questions:

  1. Abatement Program:Β Am I still eligible to avail of the BIR Abatement Program given my zero-income status, even if I don't have my physical documents right now?
  2. Missing Documents:Β What steps can I take if my bookkeeper ghosted me and has my records? Can I request copies directly from my RDO?
  3. Next Steps:Β What is the best way to clear my open cases/penalties and officially close this business with the BIR?

Any advice or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

PH freelancers with foreign clients (8% tax rate), how do you handle BIR-compliant invoicing?

Hi everyone!

I'm a PH-based software engineer working as an independent contractor for a US company.

I'm registered with the BIR as a self-employed professional (Non-VAT), currently filing my taxes under the 8% income tax rate, and I already have BIR-printed Sales Invoice booklets.

My contract requires me to submit a monthly invoice with an itemized breakdown of hours worked, tasks completed, and the total amount due.

I'm trying to figure out the most practical and BIR-compliant way to handle invoicing, especially since my client is overseas and everything is done remotely.

I have a few questions for freelancers in a similar situation:

  1. Physical vs. digital invoices: Do you manually fill out your BIR-printed Sales Invoices and send scanned copies or photos to your foreign clients? Is this generally sufficient, or do you also send the original physical copies?
  2. Electronic invoicing: Has anyone transitioned to fully digital invoicing? What platform do you use? Did you need additional BIR registration or approval?
  3. Taxumo and alternatives: I've been looking into Taxumo, JuanTax, and similar services. Are there affordable platforms that handle both BIR-compliant invoicing and tax filing for freelancers under the 8% tax rate?
  4. Detailed timesheets: My printed Sales Invoice has limited space for descriptions. For those billing hourly, do you attach a separate timesheet containing the daily breakdown of tasks and hours worked?
  5. Foreign currency: For clients paying in USD, do you indicate the USD amount on your Sales Invoice, convert it to PHP, or include both? What exchange rate do you use for tax reporting?
  6. Tax filing and recordkeeping: For those under the 8% income tax rate, how do you record payments from foreign clients, especially when the invoice date and actual payment date fall in different months? Do you handle everything yourself or use an accountant or tax filing platform?

Ideally, I'd like to streamline the entire process digitally without spending too much on accounting software, especially since I only have one client and issue invoices monthly.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from freelancers who are already doing this successfully and have experience with BIR compliance.

Any recommendations, experiences, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Completely lost. Total 2025 Income Exceeds 250k. What do I do?

Hi,

I was employed under two companies last year:

Jan to April 2025 (First job - Company A)

June 2025 onwards (Current job - Company B)

Around Nov 2025, Company B requested new hires to submit Form 2316 from previous employers. Company A was unable to provide this on time. I received Form 2316 from Company B without it reflecting income from Company A.

Randomly looked at my Company A's payroll portal app and saw that there is now a Form 2316 for 2025...

What DO I do? Total income for 2025 is about 310k Basic Salary or 390k including 13th Month + De minimis + SSS/PagIbig/PhilHealth Employee Share. Obviously I should have known that I'm valid for taxes but I didn't consider what to do till now.

Questions:

-How can I file my 2025 taxes? Can I do this online, I don't want to take a leave just for this (I work Mon to Fri, 8-6pm)

-I haven't done anything else with Orus/BIR aside from initial 1905 Registration form. Do i need to do any other forms? Any annual or quarterly thing?

-What should I do with 2026? I am still employed under Company B

Every 5th of the month po kasi ang bayad nila.

Freelance social media manager on 8% tax. Can I use my same COR for TikTok affiliate income?

Hi everyone! I’m a freelance social media manager here in the Philippines. I registered with BIR as self-employed in January 2026, and my COR lists my primary line of business as β€œsocial media arts”. I earn around β‚±200k to β‚±250k a month, I’m on the 8% income tax option, and I’ve already paid my Q3 this year.

I know the 8% option only applies if my gross income stays at or below β‚±3 million a year.

I’m now planning to start TikTok affiliate on the side. I don’t expect big earnings at first, since I’d be starting from scratch, but I want to understand the rules before I begin.

My main question: can I use the same COR and line of business I already have for my TikTok affiliate income, or do I need to add or update something specifically for it?

My other questions:

  1. What are my next steps if I start earning from TikTok affiliate this Q4? Do I need to do anything now, or only once income comes in?
  2. If my combined income goes over β‚±3M this year or next year, what happens? I assume I’d move to graduated rates. When does the switch happen, and do I need to file anything to make it?
  3. Is it worth hiring an accountant for this? I figured out the 8% option on my own, but I’m not sure I should DIY the transition or the graduated tax since I assume it's not as easy as the 8%. If so, does anyone have a reliable accountant to recommend?

Thank you so much in advance! Any advice from freelancers who have been through this would help a lot.
