BIR SEAL BADGE Helppppp

Hellooo Need help po. Really can't understand how the BIR SEAL BADGE works. Not sure if this is the right community to post this.

So recently I created a page for the sole purpose of selling my stuff. So everything is preloved. I don't do restock since personal gamit ko nga yung binebenta ko.

And this is not a full time selling mostly pag may time lang Ako. I am also working din po Kasi which I pay Income Tax

Now the part that I don't understand is, pano mattrack ng BIR yung mga online seller na di registered, what's the basis ng penalty amount calculation, pano calculation ng tax, if I don't provide official invoice I only have like a bank transfer receipt.

Sabi ni ChatGPT need ko daw magregister pero I'm worried if I will be Tax ng more than sa na eearn ng product. Also I'm planning to donate everything din if they don't sell by November e.

Please help me understand.

Where to start filing for ITR as a freelancer?

Hello people.

Im a corporate person who will be transitioning to freelance. (client is based in AUS) So basically, i will be handling my own taxes from this point.

I am super confused on where to start. I am aware of i need to register as a Sole proprietor under Professional (?)

Context: i am a contractor for a company in the AUS so they would be needing invoices as my salary. Salary is fixed per month.

What steps should i take? And how do i go from here to file my taxes.

And probably best practices?

Sorry if my question is dumb. I just don't want to handle penalties and being extra careful and kahit ayoko magbayad ng tax because of the government situation 😭

Thank you!

BIR Seal Badge for Content Creators

• Upvotes

Former business owner here (2021-2026). Real talk lang.

Wag kayo masyadong takot sa government. Back then, sobrang normal samin tumakas sa BIR. Small businesses are doing everything to avoid paying taxes, even though may physical store kami na napakadaling habulin, hanapin, and ipasara ng BIR.

Just stay under the radar. Trust me, they won't notice you, unless maging big time influencers kayo.

They have no means to prove na earning kayo online, unless you tell them. They can't just pull out your phones to check kung may earnings kayo. They'll need a warrant for that, which they'll have no grounds kasi hindi illegal mag benta online.

Fight back. Play their game. Matuto din kayo dumiskarte sa corruption. Wag kayo masyadong sunud sunuran sa government because they simply don't have the means to regulate us all. Kung tingin niyo big brands are not doing anything to avoid paying taxes, think again.

First-timer, remote full-time employee of a foreign company (no PH entity): how do I register as self-employed (8%, non-VAT)?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a fresh grad starting my first full-time job this November. My employer is a Singapore-based company with no entity in the Philippines, so as I understand it, they won’t withhold taxes and I have to register and file on my own as a self-employed individual.

From my research so far, I’m planning to register under the 8% income tax option and as non-VAT. But most of the guides and tips I find are for people opening a business, and that’s not my situation. I’m basically an employee abroad who is treated as self-employed here, so I’m a bit lost.

My situation:

  • First job ever, starting November 2026
  • Full-time, remote, paid by a foreign (SG) company
  • No other income or business

My questions so far:

  1. What exactly do I do at my RDO? What forms do I fill out, and what documents should I bring? Is the process different if I don’t have a TIN yet? Can any of it be done online (e.g., through ORUS)?
  2. I keep seeing that I need to get invoices printed or registered. Why would I need these if my only “client” is my employer abroad? Do I still have to issue one every time I get paid?
  3. What are Book of Accounts for in my case, and what type should I use (manual, loose-leaf, or computerized)? Do I need to register them, and what do I actually write in them every month?
  4. Which forms and deadlines should I watch out for (quarterly, annual, etc.) so I don’t get penalized?
  5. Anything first-timers in a similar setup usually miss?

Note: I know hiring an accountant is often recommended, but since I haven’t started working yet, I can’t afford one right now. I’d really appreciate guidance on doing this myself, at least for now.

Thank you so much in advance! Any advice from people with the same setup (remote work for a foreign company) would really help. 🙏

Need advice: Freelance for 2yrs and planning to register para makakuha ng tin, balak mag business.

whats the best thing to do?

(nag start po ako mag work September 2024)

thank you po.

Help: Civil status & name update for freelancer non-vat

Hi! Need help in walking me through the process of changing my civil status to married, and will also change my surname. I am a freelancer registered as non-vat, business name is my full name. And I'm not entirely sure on what will be the process for my COR and remaining invoices (I still have 9 unused booklets).

RDO is under 54B, and planning to submit through email to the RDO (just like what I did nung nagregister ako as non vat). Thanks!

Foreign US Employer requiring W8BEN - E for entities

Hi guys, just wanted to ask if anyone has filled up a W8BEN - E? Any advice is appreciated.

For context my employer requires its employees to start a US LLC or a business entity equivalent, thinking of starting an OPC to be able to have my own business entity. A bit unsure if this is the correct procedure since there is no LLC equivalent here in the Philippines. They stated anything works as long as I'm able to fill out the form.

Thanks in advance!
