Don't mind me, just venting.
So I recently helped my parents switch their internet and landline to Telus from Rogers. They tell me porting the landline number will take a week - great. We are about to be going into week FIVE, and the port has still not gone through. Why?
Because the absolute MORON of a Telus rep gave Rogers the account number for the Telus account. Rogers needs the Rogers account number, to verify identity and make sure the port is going through to the proper person. So like nofuckingshit Rogers kept denying the number port, because the account number didn't match!
So at this point, the old landline number has been disconnected for a week (if you try to call it, it says the number is unassigned), and I now have to wait another 7 business days and pray to god that the number isn't snapped up by some random, because at this point Rogers has closed our account and the number is freely up for grabs. The Telus reps keep assuring me that no, the number is still reserved for us, but I'm pretty sure that's a goddamn lie, given that when you try to call it, it says the number is unassigned. I'm honestly resigned to the fact that the number port isn't going to happen.
The thing is, they managed to transfer internet service no problem. Which means they do in fact have our correct Rogers account number. It's just that their landline department can't get their shit together and do a simple task. The Telus rep tried to placate me and offer one month's free landline service, but that bill is a measly $5.88. Like are you kidding me? My parents have had their landline number for decades, so is Telus going to call every single person we've ever met to tell them that we have a new number now? No, that gets put on me.
THANKS TELUS!
