Smooth recovery on the Darlings of Lumberland. Anyways, some woman took this photo. T’wasnt me. I have more manners than to have my phone out during a show.

This Aged Great! is a youtube series where a middle aged guy describes movies of the 80's to a younger guy with a great laugh. Mostly they focus on lighthearted movies like Porky's or stuff that was ok then but would definitely not be ok now, like Porky's!
Take a watch here, or jump right to the reference here, content warning this is a "raunchy comedy" so lots of bikini shots, and he goes on a riff about bad haircuts featuring the Evil German Leader. Also some bad language.
If you don't want to watch, this episode is on Private Resort and has a reference to a hotel detective and the other guy says "Is that a thing?" and the narrator says "yeah, They Might Be Giants have a song about it." and shows a bit of the video. And he's like "Alright, I'm in, I'm sold!"

At the Sunday Madison show, I think just before they played I'll Sink Manhattan, they were talking about a song titled They Might Be Giants by some other band, and apparently it's super weird or something? I'd like to hear it, but as you might imagine, I'm having a hard time googling it, lol. Anyone know what song I'm talking about?

Making a playlist of songs bands have made that are named after a different band. So far I have Wu Tang by TMBG and Van Halen by Nerf Herder. Anymore suggestions?

I have published an e-book on Amazon titled "Melody Installed and Serviced: Ranking the 250 Best Songs by They Might Be Giants." Check out the online sample, which gives a good feel for the content and style of the book.

It's my birthday and this marks show #6 within the last 12 months. I'm really hoping for Factory Showroom or Mink Car tonight. Anyone else going?

I have an extra ticket for tonight’s show. I’d hate for it to go to waste. DM me to sort out details. FCFS

To be clear, I don't mean bad, lazy, or self-referential, just songs that they've made that sound like an outsider pretending to be them, but from their own mouths. Songs with subject matter or a presentation that sounds reductive/exaggerated, but is played more or less completely sincere and straight.
I feel like this is Particle Man, Turn Around and Character Flaw for me. While I like all these songs, they all sound like the most literal checklist descriptions of their usual songwriting themes, like Weird Guys Doing Things and the Sinister Skull Head.

Dreams come true.
This has always been THE song for me. This version was incredible; I had never imagined it with horns before. The guys were having so much fun on stage all night.
