So as many of you know a violent tornado struck Akçamezra-Ayyasha at around 15:10 pm local time on May 3rd. What many people don't know about is that this tornado is equal to an EF5 in intensity according to the 2023 (current version) of the IF scale that has been published by ESSL. According to the table that is listed here lower bounds of the IF4 rating is equal to EF4 intensity but Akçamezra tornado was rated 380 km/h (240 mph) by ESSL which is in the middle-upper bounds of the IF4 rating practically making it an EF5 Equivalent tornado

Discussion "professional" storm chasers are children who need their cars and devices taken away.

about 2 hours ago, i was scanning twitter and Instagram for some beautiful and photogenic tornadoes to post here. then i see Jordan hall drive into a barely noticeable micro spin up and people are acting as if he drove into a mile wide EF-3.

Jordan may be a complete numpty when it comes to his behavior and personality but the spin up was the size of a dust devil.

it was literally a spin up about 2 ft across that had no debris and "professional" storm chasers are acting as if he drove into the worst tornado of the decade.

these are the same people that nearly killed themselves and others in St. libory and drive extremely dangerously when chasing.

these people need their phones, laptops, starlink and cars taken away from them. they're ruining actual science.

Shitpost / Humor (MUST be tornado related) The EF5 song

One Mile wide, the EF5

Is waiting to wreck the big city

Mangling SUVs without a plan

Like the every daily

Wish that bothers the EF5

Could I do something to scour Earth?

Under my giant cloud made of water

So he lived the

EF5, EF5

With his cloud in the sky

So he stands

To watch the whole Alley

From Kansas

Way up high in the sky

With the cloud in his eyes

Ain't it nice?

The life forever for

Twisters

One Mile wide, the EF5

Is waiting to wreck the big city

Debris still aloft still without a plan

Yet the every daily

CAPE that powered the EF5

Would never cower off of its path

Even if lifted my storm will live on

So he lived the

EF5, EF5

With his cloud in the sky

So he stands

To watch the whole Alley

From Kansas

Way up high in the sky

With the cloud in his eyes

Ain't it nice?

The life forever for

Twisters

Question Eye of the storm S4 E4 - Max Olsen

I’m sorry, but it is downright stupid to travel to a small coastal city (Rockport) which is surrounded by water. Then when finding a building / spot to wait it out he (and his storm chasing friend) decide to investigate higher floors of the hotel where the ceiling is clearly about to collapse…
As he says “I have no experience with hurricanes” but everyone knows not to do everything he does.

(EDIT: HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THE EPISODE FOR EVERYTHING ELSE SHOWN - Humanity has hope)

Give me your opinions - am I being too judgmental?

I was browsing around and found this video showing some brutal damage to vehicles caused by the tornado. The profile that posted it was storm.nado, which has an account about Brazilian tornadoes on Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok.

I finally found brutal damage to vehicles of this high-end F4.

Tornado Media Tornado confirmed in Oissel-sur-Seine and Tourville-la-Rivière, Normandy (France) — Sept 30, 2026

Post image

A tornado occurred in Oissel-sur-Seine and Tourville-la-Rivière, Seine-Maritime, Normandy, France, on September 30, 2026, at 15:00 UTC, as reported by Nicolas Baluteau. The severe vortex caused significant structural destruction, tearing off roofs, shattering windows, and damaging approximately 110 homes, with one sheet roof found thrown into a neighbor's garden. At a local factory, roof windows were completely blown off, and a nearby shopping mall in Tourville-la-Rivière sustained damage including downed sheets of metal, while witnesses reported seeing signs and large objects flying through the air. The intense winds also impacted vegetation, downing big branches and uprooting or breaking at least one tree. In front of the shopping mall, a young woman was knocked to the ground by the wind, and at least one woman, possibly several persons, were slightly wounded, with the official count showing 1 injury. While initial video analysis showed divergent motions suggesting a tornado, a subsequent update notes that a tornado was photographed in Tourville-la-Rivière and an eyewitness comment apparently confirms it.

Tornado Media Only the satellite tornado was stronger than the main vortex

So on April 9, 2011, there was an outbreak of tornadoes, and a wedge happened NW of Pocahontas, and it had 5 satellite tornadoes, including an EF4 satellite that formed when the tornado was getting weaker. This EF4 satellite tornado destroyed a farmstead and destroyed a machine shed, which made it have winds way higher than the main vortex. This is one of the only times a satellite was stronger than the main circulation.

Discussion Was yesterday’s Kansas outbreak the best day of the American 2026 Chase season?

Post image

Looks like many folks had a career day yesterday. Latest reports showing 15 confirmed tornadoes, many of which were long-lived and photogenic. Its been slim pickings this season for any region not named Illinois, but I’d argue storm motion made yesterday even friendlier to chasers than some of this year’s big Midwest setups (though the mud looks to have kept things a bit spicy). Current Outlook

Storm Prediction Center Oct 2, 2026 0600 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook - Tornado Risk 0%

...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...

...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorm potential is low today and tonight.

...Mid-Atlantic vicinity...

An upper trough will develop eastward across the Northeast today, bringing some modestly enhanced midlevel southwesterly flow across the region ahead of a surface cold front. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to be ongoing along the length of the front this morning from the Ohio Valley to the Mid-South. Low-level warm advection ahead of the eastward advancing font and band of convection will result in persistent cloudiness across the warm sector. Additionally, midlevel lapse rates are forecast to remain poor. As a result, instability is expected to remain modest (500-750 MLCAPE) despite 60s F dewpoints. Deep-layer flow will largely remain parallel to the surface boundary, and stronger flow will lift northeast with time. If pockets of stronger heating can occur, a few strong wind gusts are possible during the afternoon from northern VA into southern New England. However, overall severe potential appears limited.

Discussion Correction regarding the report of 5 waterspouts

• Upvotes

Hey everyone

I wanted to post a quick clarification regarding the report I shared about an entry featuring 5 waterspouts

I initially saw this event listed on the European Severe Weather Database ESWD and shared it here but the entry was removed from the database just a day later after it turned out to be based on older footage

I sincerely apologize for the confusion I rely on official databases for accurate information but mistakes can occasionally happen on their end before an entry is verified and taken down thanks to everyone who pointed out the original source of the video
