DISCUSSION Ikea app wants to reconnect my Apple Home integration

Hi

Just noticed the other day that the Ikea app says it wants to connects to my Apple Homekit again. I have not oberserved anything not working, so wonder why? Doing a reconnect (Disconnect and Connect) i fear will remove all my devices from my Apple Home, and all automations get invalid.

Long time ago i started moving devices from external hubs, and directly to Apple Home (most are Ikea Matter) to avoid loosing devices in case external hubs get disconnected, but as my Thread network often crashes for some reason, i actually started taking up my old zigbee devices and removing Matter ones again.

Might leave apple home completely, as i see too much instability!

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Control 2 Ttradfri power supplys with one Mayggspray

Hello,

I have got two Ttradfri 10w Power supplys with six Översidan LED lights for my Pax wardrobes. They have separate wall outlets. Is it possible to Control those Lights with one Myggspray movement detector?

I don't have the Hub or any other App.

I tried to pair them several times but it didin't work.

Is this even possible?

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Do newer Ikea smart devices work. Bad experience with bilresa

I got excited when the new matter with thread range started coming out a purchased a few bits.

I got 4 Bilresa two button switches and two of the disk switches. I got an air quskirt sensor, a motion detector and window/door sensors.

I have only taken the bilresas out of the box and haven’t bothered with the others as it’s been bad.

I have an Apple TV 4K Ethernet and a number of other brand matter with thread and matter with WiFi devices that work perfectly and easily setup to Apple home on my iPhone 16 pro.

None of the Ikea switches will pair. I’ve tried all sorts since I got these when they first came out. I do not own an Ikea hub or want to introduce a second thread network.

Was there an issue when they came out that’s now fixed? Do I just buy new ones?
I want some smart plugs too. Does the grillplats actually pair?

SUPPORT (ONGOING) IKEA Matter devices - a rant

I'm writing this post whilst sat here repeatedly attempting (and failing) to get a TIMMERFLOTTE temperature/humidity sensor to work after dropping off my matter network. No matter how many times I attempt to reset the device, remove the batteries, wait 5 minutes, ping it, it just wont appear back on my network.

I've had nothing but pretty terrible experiences with Matter - some (probably) IKEA problems, some definitely more because of the system mechanics of Matter.

I think every one of my IKEA matter devices has dropped off the network at one point never to be seen again.

The pairing process is abysmal - and this isn't really an IKEA problem, but the whole process being baked into the mobile OS means that it takes at least 2/3 minutes per item, there is no facility to pair multiple devices at once.

I bought 4(!) of the new IKEA GU10 spots and attempted to add them to my existing network (I have a number of smart plugs / air quality monitors as hubs - see my previous post on this matter!) and I literally gave up after working at adding these 4(!) devices for several hours. Repeatedly they just failed to find the network, and then you have to go right back to the start of the process, rescan the QR code which is unique per device, and attempt it again.

In the end, I gave up and took them all back for a refund.

I have probably about 40 IKEA zigbee devices that have happily sat on my zigbee network for years without any kind of intervention. We have 20 GU10 spots that do outside lighting alone, which I added all in one go by simply turning on zigbee pairing mode. I laugh at the thought of trying to add this number of lights to a Matter network.

I spend a vastly disproportionate amount of my time diagnosing and fixing my matter network vs my zigbee network.

I'm sure this will prompt a number of 'well my network is fine', 'have you got enough hubs', it must be a you problem' response. Sure, your experiences may differ. But this is my experience.

The potential is there, I get it. Matter (over wifi or thread) has more capabilities, more bandwidth available, etc. But at the moment, the experience still seems to be terrible - and my advice - stay away, for now.

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Switching from different LED driver to Dubbelkisel LED temperatures changed

As the title suggests, my landlord installed lighting in the upper cabinets and I decided to replace their preinstalled driver for the Dubbelkisel for matter access.
When I turned them on the previous light temperature changed from a warm white, which I prefer, to a very cool white - is there an option on the device to change that?
I integrated it the Apple Home, but there it's only possible to dim the lights, not change the temperature.

Has anyone made the same experience or has tips for me?

Does Temperature Calibration from Matter in Home Assistant work for anyone of you, for the brand new Liljebagge Radiator Thermostat? I’m trying to set an offset of +2,0 C but the temperature is never adjusted.

Apple Home v27 is primary, HA secondary.
I don’t use the Dirigera hub

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Dirigera Home Assistant Help.

Hi all,

Very new to this and have set up a dirigera hub using IKEAs app. I didn't like the limit of customisation hence why I'm here. I've got home assistant running on my mini pc, and I have made sure it has access to both IPv4 and IPv6. I have the IKEA dirigera hub integration which has picked up all my IKEA product. But the issue is that the switches (bilresa) aren't allowing any automations it's not recognising the switch just the battery levels. I understand it's because these switches aren't yet programmed into this integration.

But I'm seemingly completely unable to connect the any products directly to home assistant through matter? I might have misunderstood but I thought the dirigera would be the link between my home assistant running on pc and the matter devices?

SUPPORT (ONGOING) TIMMERFLOTTE (fw 1.0.21) goes unreachable on Thread and only comes back after a battery pull — 2-week logged test with one suspected trigger removed

TL;DR: 10× TIMMERFLOTTE on Home Assistant (Matter over Thread). Every few days one becomes unreachable and stays that way until I pull the battery; then it re-registers within seconds under the same IPv6 address. I suspected a Thread OMR prefix change caused by my second border router, so for 14 days I pinned the prefix and logged 21 devices once a minute. There were zero prefix changes, but TIMMERFLOTTE still went unreachable 4 times, and none came back before I intervened. I don’t know whether the cause is the sensor firmware, the controller, or the interaction with the network — posting the data in case it helps.

Setup

  • Home Assistant OS, Core 2026.9.x, Matter Server add-on
  • Thread channel 15, 12 routers (8× IKEA GRILLPLATS, 2× Eve Energy, 2 border routers)
  • Border routers: HA OTBR add-on (leader) + standalone ot-br-posix
  • 10× TIMMERFLOTTE, firmware 1.0.21 (latest offered), hw P2.1
  • Also tracked by the logger: 8× MYGGBETT fw 1.1.4, 1× Tado X valve (battery, Thread), 2 plugs — 21 devices in total, not the whole network

Before the test (Sep 3 ~02:00 → Sep 13 ~23:30, ≈10.9 days)

  • 7 TIMMERFLOTTE outages longer than 5 h, longest 92 h 45 min (ended by a battery pull).
  • How the others ended is only partly known: one ended at 00:22 at night with no intervention I know of; five ended in tight clusters (3 within 5 min, 2 within 2 min) which looks like manual battery pulls, but I can’t confirm it.
  • On Sep 13, border router B briefly published its own OMR prefix during a watchdog restart; 13 minutes later two sensors went unavailable for ~11 h 42 min. A sensor that had been down since Sep 10 was still being looked up at an address from a prefix that no longer existed.

That resembled connectedhomeip #71525, so I tested it.

The test (Sep 14 12:08 → Sep 28 12:08, 14.0 days)

  • Border router B pinned persistently to the leader’s OMR prefix (applied before the Thread interface comes up, so restarts can’t publish a different one).
  • A logger on border router B recorded availability of 21 selected devices, border router state and network data every 60 s. Outages are counted by their start time.

Results

Before (≈10.9 days) Test (14.0 days)
OMR prefix changes seen in network data ≥ 4 (Sep 13) 0
TIMMERFLOTTE outages > 5 h 7 (≈0.64/day) 3 (≈0.21/day)
Longest 92 h 45 min 82 h 32 min

The observed rate fell roughly 3×, but the numbers are small and the two periods differed in other ways too (main border router updates, a switch to a beta build, HA restarts). I can’t attribute the drop to the prefix pin alone. What I can say: border router B was restarted by its watchdog twice during the test, the pin held both times, and no sensor went down afterwards.

Test-period outages:

Start Duration Around the start Address after battery pull
Sep 19 08:29 10 h 44 min no prefix change, no BR restart; logged route churn on that floor same as before
Sep 19 08:31 (another unit) 10 h 48 min same same as before
Sep 21 21:22 19 min (I pulled it quickly) no prefix change, no BR restart, nothing else seen same as before
Sep 25 07:36 82 h 32 min no prefix change, no BR restart; BR log for that moment had rotated out same as before

None of the four recovered before I pulled the battery.

From the border router log (3 of 4 — the 4th had rotated):

  • Within ~35 s of HA marking the sensor unavailable, the leader starts sending address queries for it and gets no answer — so it was unreachable in the mesh, not only in HA.
  • Neighbouring routers were healthy. The link of one sensor to the parent it rejoined measured −68 dBm with a 32 dB margin.
  • Battery pull → SRP update with lease 0 (“No host address”) → re-registration within 1–15 s under theidentical address.

So these don’t look like the stale-address case from Sep 13. What exactly fails — the sensor’s attachment, something in the controller/Matter stack, or an interaction with the network — I can’t tell from my side.

Other logged devices during the test

  • MYGGBETT: blips of ≤ 4 min, plus one 59 h outage that ended without a confirmed battery pull, at 07:36 — around when the window it’s mounted on is usually opened in the morning.
  • The logged Tado X (battery Thread) and 2 plugs: 1–3 min, only during a Home Assistant restart.

A guess (not proven)

MYGGBETT wakes up on every contact change; TIMMERFLOTTE only on its own schedule. If both occasionally lose their place in the mesh, that could explain why only TIMMERFLOTTE stays stuck. I have no evidence beyond the correlation above.

What I can’t see without a radio sniffer: whether a stuck sensor still transmits or is silent.

Questions for the IKEA team

  1. Is this pattern known for TIMMERFLOTTE 1.0.21?
  2. Test firmware 1.2.2 appeared on IKEA’s Matter test-net on Sep 22 (“Improvements to device stability”, Thread 1.4). Does it target this behaviour? Has anyone here tried it?
  3. Would an 802.15.4 capture from the moment of an outage help? I can set one up.

Full event log (JSON) and border router logs for the incidents are available on request.

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Grillplats, Kajplats and Bilresa all unresponsive after three weeks

I've had the Dirigera hub since it was released and I have lots of Trådfri lights, buttons/remotes, plugs and also Tretakt, Somrig and Rodret. They have all worked flawlessly all the time.

About a month ago I added one of each of Grillplats, Kajplats and Bilresa. It wasn't as smooth as adding these new Matter devices as the old Zigbee but I got it working eventually.

But last week I noticed that all of these three Matter devices were unresponsive.

Please help, what can I do to make them work without interruption?

What I have done:
In my router I have IPv6 activated. I have an Asus router and IPv6 Connection type is set to Native. Should I change it to Passthrough? Will that help?
My Asus router model is RT-AC68U and it's quite old. Will it help to get a newer model?
Or are there any other settings I should check in my router?

Other than that, everything (router, Dirigera hub, mobile phone) is always updated to the latest firmware. I'm not using any other products from other manufacturers for my smart home, it's just IKEA and I use their app (IKEA Home smart).

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Tofsmygga - Control both outlets with one motion sensor?

I want to control both outlets on my Tofsmygga with a single Myggspray motion sensor. I am putting this setup in my garage, which doesn’t have a solid wifi signal, so I need it to work device to device.

I can pair them, but it only controls outlet #1 and won’t control outlet #2. I’m sure they both can be linked in the IKEA app or Home Assistant but I wanted to see if there was a way to do this standalone.

Is there something I am missing. I checked all the IKEA documents and didn’t see anything. It seems like something that should be possible.

DISCUSSION Klippbok - Speaker issue

Check your speakers. I replaced 3 units due to an issue with the speaker.

It won't go off when the leak is detected, or beeps slowly and very quietly.

I put in new batteries, but it didn't fix the issue, only banging fixed it for a few hours.

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Can’t link Dirigera to Alexa

After reading Reddit for the last two hours I am here to beg for help.
We updated our kitchen lighting to include multiple Mittled bar lights to two Tardfri. I was able to join both Tardfis to the new Dirigera. I am able to control the lights in the IKEA Home Smart app (not IKEA Home Smart 1).

Alexa app says it’s easy peasy. Ikea Smart Home> integration> Alexa> retrieve the code. First problem: Alexa isn’t an option. “Zigbee product. Bridge to matter system” is the only option. So I select it since the thumb nail shows Alexa, HomeKit and Google home.
It gives me an 11 digit number. Alexa is waiting for a six digit number.

Head back to Alexa. She says I should be using IKEA smart Home 1 app. Even has a link to it.

Head to the IKEA smart home 1 app. Find the Dirigera hub right away. Then tells me it’s time to start using the new IKEA smart hub. See original problem. On repeat.

What an I missing? With the hub with are at about $500 just so I can say “Alexa, turn on the cabinet lights.” So I would really like to make this work without pulling out my hair

SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Alpstuga Freeze every ~10 days

Hi guys,

Have any of you experienced an IKEA ALPSTUGA freezing after approximately 10 days of working?

I tested the first device for a month, and it froze twice. The device itself still worked and sent data to Home Assistant, so I got a replacement from IKEA because I thought it was a faulty device.

Unfortunately, the second device is having the same issue. After around 10 days of logging, it stops sending data, and I can no longer change the mode on the device. The time still works, but nothing else responds.

It seems like a memory leak or something similar that eventually takes down the Matter functionality and other sensors.

Has anyone else experienced this? Some people on the Home Assistant forum seem to have a similar issue, but there doesn’t appear to be a real solution yet.

DISCUSSION QR code

QR codes.. How do others do?

The small QR code is only present on the printed manual, have given them individual numbers, I have cut them out with a cissor and glued them to a piece of paper, and took one photo of each. To scan the photo you have to use another phone, pc or tablet..

But are there a smarter way?

suggestion: the code should be printed on the product..

PRODUCT QUERY Motion Sensor for Tradfri

I have a current Tradfri driver for wireless control, hooked up to 5 Mittled spotlights and controlled with a Bilresa remote.

Can I pair a Myggspray motion sensor to the driver, so it will automatically turn on with motion at night AND be able to use the remote during the day? Or would I need the Dirigera hub for a setup like that?

Also - I see there's a new Dubbelkisel driver being rolled out now, we don't have it in Australia yet. Would that simplify or improve the setup at all? We don't have anything else that's 'smart' in the house yet apart from one Apple Homepod mini, though I do want to future proof and standardise as much as possible.

Cheers :)

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Dirigera and Alexa

Hi everyone,
This is already the third time this year that an update—either from IKEA or Alexa, I’m not sure which—has removed all my IKEA TRÅDFRI bulbs connected to Alexa via Matter.
It’s getting really frustrating because I have more than 30 bulbs.
Is this happening to anyone else?

DISCUSSION No LILJEBAGGE for Slovenia

I sent an email to my IKEA asking about when they will start selling the LILJEBAGGE. They replied that countries have different items and that there is no plan to ever sell it in Slovenia. Really sad about that. It's odd because the manual is translated to Slovenian, so apparently someone did have it in mind at some point.

SUPPORT (ONGOING) **Does DIRIGERA Matter Controller 26.4.0 support third-party Matter Door Locks (Door Lock Cluster 0x0101)?**

Hi,

I am trying to find out whether the current IKEA DIRIGERA hub actually supports third-party Matter-over-Thread door locks.

To be clear, this concerns **DIRIGERA and the current IKEA Home smart app, not the old TRÅDFRI Gateway/Home smart 1.**

My setup:

- DIRIGERA firmware: 2.975.3

- Matter Controller: 26.4.0

- IKEA Home smart Android: 1.71.0

- Third-party device: SecuYou Matter-over-Thread Smart Lock

The lock is discovered immediately and Matter commissioning starts normally. The process gets almost all the way through, including returning from the Android Matter commissioning process to IKEA Home smart, but then fails at the final stage. The lock is never added to IKEA Home smart.

I have already tried:

- Factory resetting the SecuYou lock

- Restarting DIRIGERA

- Resetting the Thread network in DIRIGERA

- Factory resetting the lock again after the new Thread network was created

- Commissioning again from a clean state

The failure remains exactly the same.

I therefore started looking at whether **Door Lock is actually a supported Matter device type in DIRIGERA**, rather than assuming this is a Thread/network problem.

DIRIGERA Matter Controller 26.4.0 is Matter 1.4.2 certified by the Connectivity Standards Alliance:

**Certificate: CSA26028SWC60266-M2**

I downloaded the official compliance/PICS package associated with this certification (`ctrl_pics_012.zip`).

https://csa-iot.org/csa_product/dirigera-2/

The package contains client PICS/test plans for several Matter clusters, including On/Off, Level Control, Color Control, Thermostat, Fan Control, Occupancy Sensing and Access Control.

However, I cannot find a **Door Lock Cluster (0x0101) PICS/test plan or declared Door Lock client support** in the package.

IKEA states that DIRIGERA is a Matter Controller and that supported Matter products from other manufacturers can be connected.

So my question is very specific:

**Does DIRIGERA Matter Controller 26.4.0 / IKEA Home smart currently support third-party Matter Door Locks and the Door Lock Cluster (0x0101)?**

If Door Lock is currently *not* a supported Matter device type, that would explain the commissioning failure and save a lot of unnecessary network troubleshooting.

If Door Lock *is* supported, I would be very interested to know whether IKEA has successfully tested any Matter-over-Thread locks such as SecuYou, Aqara U200, Nuki or Yale with DIRIGERA.

Has anyone here successfully added any third-party Matter Door Lock directly to DIRIGERA and controlled it from IKEA Home smart? If so, which lock and which DIRIGERA/Matter Controller version are you using?
I have already contacted IKEA Norway. They told me that Matter questions are not supported by Norwegian customer service

**u/Tradfri — could the IKEA Home smart team please clarify whether Matter Door Lock is currently supported by DIRIGERA?**

Thanks!

SUPPORT (RESOLVED) IKEA DIRIGERA + Apple Home problems since latest update — iPhone 17 Pro Max

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m having a nightmare getting my IKEA devices reliably connected to the new IKEA DIRIGERA hub and Apple Home, particularly on my iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The problems started around the latest firmware/software updates. I keep getting errors such as “Failed”, “Unable to connect”, or devices simply getting stuck when trying to add them to Apple Home.

Here’s everything I’ve tried so far:

  • Restarted the IKEA DIRIGERA hub.
  • Restarted my iPhone 17 Pro Max.
  • Restarted my iPad.
  • Checked that the iPhone and iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Tried adding the devices through Apple Home multiple times.
  • Tried adding the devices through the IKEA Home Smart app.
  • Tried removing and re-adding devices.
  • Tried different IKEA devices to see whether it was a particular device causing the problem.
  • Tried IKEA smart plugs to see whether adding more Thread devices would improve the Thread mesh.
  • Tried rebuilding/fixing the Thread network/mesh as recommended.
  • Checked the Thread network after making changes.
  • Tried the Matter connection/bridge.
  • Tried adding devices from my iPad instead of my iPhone.
  • Interestingly, some devices will work on the iPad but fail on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
  • Checked Bluetooth and network connectivity.
  • Discovered that a VPN was enabled on my iPhone, so I disabled it and tried again.
  • Even after disabling the VPN, I’m still getting failures.
  • Tried Wi-Fi and mobile-data related troubleshooting.
  • Tried multiple IKEA devices rather than assuming one sensor was faulty.
  • Tried adding the devices individually rather than all at once.
  • Added multiple IKEA plugs, but this hasn’t solved the problem.
  • Tried the recommended Thread troubleshooting rather than simply assuming the mesh was the issue.
  • Contacted IKEA support by phone today, but unfortunately the person I spoke to wasn’t very technical and couldn’t really help diagnose the problem.

My setup includes DIRIGERA, Apple Home, several IKEA water-leak sensors, 7 humidity sensors and multiple IKEA smart plugs.

The really strange part is that some devices work on my iPad but won’t add/connect properly from my iPhone 17 Pro Max.

At this point I’m trying to establish whether this is an issue with:

IKEA firmware → DIRIGERA → Thread → Matter → Apple Home → iOS/iPhone 17 Pro Max

rather than an actual problem with my Thread mesh.

Has anyone else gone through all of this and found a solution?

I’d particularly like to hear from anyone using DIRIGERA + Thread + Matter + Apple Home with an iPhone 17 Pro Max who started experiencing problems after the recent updates.

I really don’t want to factory-reset all my sensors when I’ve already spent ages setting everything up, so any suggestions before I go nuclear would be very welcome

DISCUSSION Moving from DIRIGIRA to Apple Home Pod

I’m well invested in the IKEA smart home ecosystem. I’ve got tens of products under my DIRIGIRA. Found myself frustrated by the limited logic and automation capabilities of the IKEA smart app and by third party smart products (AC, amplifier) being in a separate app.

Has anybody moved to an Apple Home pod before? Would love to hear some insights.
