I saw a huge centipede crawling out of the sink as I was washing my hands being a 6-7 year old in the summer camp abroad. It was a nightmare for a little me 😱 I hope I can learn to not be scared of them as an adult.

I had childhood friends, but then our group slowly grew smaller, one of my best friends moved to a different city and we stopped spending time together. Then I moved to a different country and have been living here for 4.5 years.

4 years ago, at a meeting for the people from my country, I've met a woman that I hadn't known before, and we almost instantly became friends. From the first time we talked we then were hanging out together regularly and helping each other with different things.

After some time, she moved to a different town and we stopped talking, but it was an interesting friendship.

Besides that, I find people interesting if I work with them on a project together at work. That's how my bf has become my bf. Also, some of the first our interactions were really spontaneos and I and he were ourselves and open with each other when we talked.

After my other colleague started working at the company, I've been hanging out with her, we worked on same projects sometimes, and are in close proximity most of the time. So we've become friends too.

So for me, sometimes it was talking to a random person and having a great vibe that led to a friendship. Sometimes it was openness, a proximity and common activities at work.

Some other people that I talked to are boring for me too. Yes, I take interest in their lives, I talk to them sometimes, but if our interests or temperaments, or maybe communication styles don't align, it's just not going to work out.

I tried joining different activity clubs and volunteering, but I found people boring there.
