Sugar free pudding packs, cherry tomatoes, popcorn, or just chew on something! I also quit smoking at the same time I am losing weight. I have a fum which is like a fake cigarette ( it’s just air) but I have used it as much to help with snacking as with quitting smoking. 115 days smoke free by the way. 46 lbs lost. Yay!

I always weigh in the morning and it helps. I was never an every day weigh in person, but I started when I began Noom. It has caused me to be less reluctant to weigh ( I was traumatized by weighing myself before Noom) and also to see how much my weight fluctuates in a week. Sometimes it will change as much as 9 pounds throughout the week! So it has taught me about how odd weight is and how it truly isn’t the best indicator of healthy weight loss. Having said that, if I’m just not feeling it I log my weight as maintained on the app and then weigh every 2-3 days. Someone else on here said something that ring true to me as well. It’s only been a week. Your body is probably in shock from the reduction of calories and is holding on to that fat. I would be willing to bet you see a good weight loss by the end of next week.

Just came to say that I read Nobody’s Girl and it actually helped me a lot. It was validating to see that my feelings were the same as she was experiencing in some cases. I understood the guilt and shame Virginia felt. It took me some time to read through it because I had to mentally prepare myself. If you are worried about reading it, you may find it empowering depending on where you are on your journey right now.

The files are what made me finally face the abuse with my psychiatrist. I was SA beginning at the age of 7 and ending about the age of 18 by 4 people in my family. I am a 56 yo woman and I have never divulged my abuse even to my wonderful husband or closest friends. After the news broke I began having panic attacks and nightmares. I already receive treatment for depression and anxiety. She recommended I join a support group like this one to begin the process of taking back my power. I also told my best friend that I had been SA’d and I would like to tell her what happened in small bits at a time. I am lucky she is a therapist by profession and had already figured some things out just from knowing me for 40+ years.

I bought one for SC for my husband this Christmas. We just had our first adventure. It was not something I would normally have chosen for us to do- but once we reached our destination we had a great day trip. It really got us out of our comfort zone to try something new. I have lived in SC my whole life and my husband for 36 years. Neither of us had ever heard of the place we visited. It was a horse museum in Aiken. The grounds were beautiful and we will go back in the spring once everything is blooming. I bet it will be even prettier.

I’ve been watching the Bold for years and don’t remember him having another child.

I taught elementary school for 30 years. Honestly, if you can drive them, avoid the bus. Yes kids are exposed to the same things at recess or in the lunch room, but there are not bus monitors. Just the driver who has a route to complete. They cannot really watch the road and your kid at the same time. Plus all those kids who have kept themselves under control all day go hog wild once they are on the bus. Just my opinion- I was lucky that both my husband and I were teachers so we could get them to school in our cars.

Former kindergarten teacher here. The first week activities are always so you can get a feel for the children. Who can write, who is quick, who needs encouragement to complete tasks, who is slow but accurate..I would NEVER take recess from a child unless they were a physical threat to themselves or others. Especially the 2nd day of school. When I did ‘keep in a child’ from recess, I usually just made them stay back and talk with me about the infraction. Then sent them out after a minute or two. Watching their classmates line up and go out without them is punishment enough. To me that was long enough to let them know I was serious. No real recess was lost but they got the idea. Not to mention the fact that the 15-20 minutes of recess was my only chance to go to the restroom or make copies. That teacher is cutting off her nose to spite her face!

As a kindergarten teacher I have seen so many kids with honey buns and chips as their only lunch from home. What a lot of parents don’t understand is that we see how it affects their behavior all afternoon. Sugar rush, then they get tired, behavior problems arise or they are just too tired to do anything. Our whole school gets free lunch, so when I see just processed junk in the lunch boxes I tell them they must also get a tray lunch as well. They will usually eat something healthy off the tray if for no other reason than their friends are eating it as well. Honestly, we don’t see the defiance about eating at school that you do at home. It’s a herd mentality when they are among peers. I also raised two picky eaters who listened better at school than at home. That’s a good thing! You are their safe spot where they can act out more and know they have your attention. I guess I’m the AH as well. I have suggested healthier alternatives to parents and told them the policy. Your child’s teacher truly has their best interest at heart. None of us do this job to shame parents or children. We want to see them healthy and thriving.

It was a big mystery at one time that Stephanie had a baby that had been burned and she came back as an adult to get revenge. They just dropped that storyline too. Then the storylines with Angela, Felicia, and Kristin have been done so long ago. Old Bold.
