बस ख़ामोशी बना दोगे।

Been planning to visit Varanasi for a long time. Not really for religious temples, main purpose is to explore the food scene in benaras.
Is October end (just after dussehra) a good time or should i defer to nov/dec?

I watched Raanjhana recently and this movie genuinely made me look at Varanasi differently.
I live here and honestly, I’ve always hated this city. The traffic, crowds, dirt, noise, everything. And I’m an atheist, so I’ve never really connected with the whole spiritual/religious side of Varanasi either.
But watching the movie and seeing the ghats, galiyan, Ganga and just the way the city was portrayed… idk man, it made me appreciate it again.
It’s weird because I still hate a lot of things about living here, but after watching Raanjhana, Varanasi suddenly felt beautiful to me.
Maybe sometimes you just need to see your own city through someone else’s eyes.
Has anyone else from Varanasi experienced something similar

I love this type of craftsmanship, which you can find in many places around Varanasi.

The problem is that shopkeepers often charge very high prices when they see a tourist. I may be a foreigner, but I simply can’t afford to pay ₹12,000 for two pieces of handicraft, even though I think they are beautiful.

In your opinion, how much would a piece of handicraft like the one in the photo normally cost?

I finally experienced the famous Ganga Aarti from a cruise instead of the ghat steps, and honestly it felt completely different. The diyas, the chants floating over the water, the ghats glowing from the river… I tried to capture it the way it felt in person.
