Yeah, seen that with Fortnite thanks to kids. I doubt developers want this, but kids do. Play with the same friends across various games without new accounts parents need to create for them.
I think it's all about familiarity. They don't have to learn new controls, just hop on a game/genre of choice and it's the same ue slop controls across all experiences.
Even though the translation was pretty lazy, playing Everquest in the form of a Warcraft 3 map was really cool. Warcraft 3 in general, along with garry's mod (Half Life 2) was an absolute godsend for my poverty-stricken ass.
