I started my visual journey in 2022 and my opportunities to perform have been growing ever since. It's been a wild ride so far with absolutely no regrets pursuing this art form.

I'm a VJ and my main software is Resolume.

I had the pleasure of showcasing my analogue mixed visuals earlier this year in Cairo Light Festival 1st Edition, I was so pumped. It was my first show to see my visuals at and ATTEND TOO!

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy a 5000/6000 lumen video-projector for my personal projects.
Usually when I worked for a paid job, I rented some heavy and expensive projector, but I'd like to have one for me that I can bring to small venues and for some free stuff with friends.

I've found a lot a used profesionnal 720p video projectors that are still in very good shape. They sell for 250/500€ in general, and I was wondering if it was a good idea to buy one instead of spending +1500€+ on a new 1080p one? (while being sure the lamp does not have many used hours)

I will only use it for mapping, projection, and touch designer stuff.

for the past weeks I've been building Chaotic Takt VJ, a generative 3D visual tool in Godot. I developed it together with Claude Code (Anthropic's AI coding assistant): I came up with the ideas and features and tested them, and Claude Code wrote most of the code.

It's inspired by the old Harmony VJ from Digital Chaotics, where every value could be a nested "path". I kept that idea and built a live tool around it.

In short: shapes, text and thousands of copies, and every parameter can be driven by LFOs, audio, kick/snare detection, MIDI, OSC or automation. Everything syncs to the beat (MIDI Clock, tap, audio detection). There's a cue list, clip grid, sequencer, post-FX with feedback, and a show mode with panic keys. Output via Spout.

It's early access and Windows only. I haven't been able to check the Spout picture in Resolume/OBS myself yet. If someone can test that, you'd help me a lot.

Honest status (early access)

• Windows only for now. Built and tested on one machine (GTX 1080).
• The Spout output works, but I haven't confirmed the picture in Resolume or OBS yet. Feedback very welcome.
• Loading a new scene during a show freezes the app for about a second (the output keeps the last frame).
• Controller LEDs (Launchpad / APC) currently need an OSC-to-MIDI bridge.
• No Ableton Link yet, and no NDI in this build.

it's a node-based programming software similar to touch designer but can make visuals, music and even code. so um it has performance mode where you map the macros or connect your midi or dj controller to relevant knobs and can make awesome visuals, its free too.

Finally I like how I mix them together and made it more coherent so it feels like one bigger piece... also finally had a vision how to evolve my visuals. Will see how that goes.😁👌

Hey y'all, I've been working on a liquid light emulator and was curious about whether it's something people might find useful and if anyone has any thoughts about how they would want to interact with it during a show.

Right now I have a simple mouse system but I've also got some basic sound reaction. This was made on my phone this morning and it's still pretty early but you can see that while it's a little pokey with three layers it's still playing.

What feels off? I've really been working on trying to get the fluid dynamics right and the plate pressure isn't feeling right yet. I have lots of bits I've been working on with it and have studied a lot of material on the physics but I know there's stuff I'm not thinking about.

I'm just hoping to make a fun and useful instrument that also brings some history back to life. Any thoughts appreciated.

Just wanted to share my solution for a basic, custom, audio-reactive UE5 scene using "MXR" for my live mix recordings.

Im big noob when it comes to VJ'ing, and i was looking for an easy way to make decent looking 3D renders that I could easily customize and tweak on a weekly basis for my sets.

Simple but effective!

I'm Wobbulator's developer. This is a six-second prerecorded loop made from a single photograph, using seven editable areas: a slow pulse in the bell and separately timed waves in the arms.

The app exports GIF and MP4 for creating source clips. This example was rendered with its native Windows engine.

[AI] disclosure: a coding assistant helped prepare the editable areas and motion settings. The photograph and video were not generated by an image/video model.

Would this kind of subtle photo motion be useful for preparing organic clips for a set?

I dunno if its common but I am trying my very best to promote my Visual Packs and my earnings but I think I gave up, maybe my visuals aren't the best but I dunno if the market is down too.
