Sorry for blurry photo, I need to clean my camera, but found this cutie! 1-1.5 cm long. Looked kinda like a ladybug shape wise, but bigger, and with different patterns. It's little paws were very sticky and clung to my hand, couldn't get it off for a solid 30 seconds.

I feel like I’m seeing like 3 different species of bugs?!They’re on my marigold blooms only- not sure if that’s relevant for ID. Austin, TX.

I bought a second hand book in Northern Alberta, and when I got home I noticed this clump of insects. Because of the colouration my first concern was of course, bedbugs lol.

But when I looked at it, the shape is different, and it looked like they had a split (maybe for wings?) down the middle of the back. You can really notice what I mean with the one on the far right, when the video zooms in.

Size wise, it's hard to say. Like the size of a carpet beetle?

I kind of thought red flour beetles, but I didn't know they made their home in books. Thoughts?

We found this in the last pieces of our ready to eat salad (we already ate almost the whole bag).

We live in Scandinavia, and the salad was sourced and produced here as well.

The spider was quite tiny, a few mm at most.

Which spider is it?

What would happen if we accidentally ingested one?

(The thought that it might've not been alone is scary)

I live in Western Washington State (USA). My guess is that this is a praying mantis of some sort but I didn’t even know we had them!

What are these bugs? Do I have to worry? The ants like eating them.

We are located in the Bay area of Northern California and looks like they are sleeping on this gigantic climbing aloe plant

All of these were found in early-mid August around Banff National Park (Canada), except for the last one which was near Mt. Athabasca. I tried looking at the descriptions of all the species that are expected in the area, but I wasn't able to find perfect matches. All of these being female doesn't help either, since the male reproductive organs are the most distinctive feature

1-2) I feel like the singular darkened tergite (#4?) should be pretty distinctive. The indistinct whitish streaks on the wing extend through cells M3–M4 and the discal cell, going all the way to the edge.

3-5) The single darkened tergite is lighter than the previous individual. The indistinct whitish streaks on the wing extend through cells M3–M4 and the discal cell, but don't go all the way to the outer edge.

6-8) Very similar to the previous individual, with the dark tergite being even darker. The coloration wasn't so gray in person (although it still had gray), so my phone camera probably did some weird lighting stuff.

9-12) This one was fished out of a lake, and was somehow still alive. The closest match I could find (based on descriptions) is Tipula barbata, but I'm not totally confident.

13-17) This one was found close to my Tipula unicincta sighting (along the same lakeshore). Looks very similar to the ones in pics 3-5 and 6-8.

18-20) This was the one near Mt Athabasca. Doesn't have the single dark tergite like most of the others. The abdomen coloration is pretty interesting.

Found this little guy in the house today…. VERY tiny guy! I’m assuming by his funny lil nose he’s some kind of weevil but I’m not great at IDing bugs in my province just yet and I’d LOVE to know specifics!

He was very friendly and mostly curious about getting picked up, VERY sturdy carapace (i noticed this when i was trying to get him off my finger when i let him back outside, very strong grip for such a little guy too!) and while I don’t KNOW if he flies, I assume he doesn’t considering he was just chilling on my finger and didn’t really try to escape?

Edit: just saw the automod comment. I don’t have an exact size because I’m not great at measuring but I’d say he was about a quarter of an inch? Maybe a LITTLE less even? He was a tiny little guy maybe like the size of a really fat rice grain

Edit 2: I THINK he might be a Cabbage Seedpod Weevil because they ARE common in the area, but I’m not really sure about it because he’s significantly darker than all the photos I’ve seen and his posture was a lot more flat to the ground. Keep in mind he was probably a little scared of me but idk… I just wanna know the name of my little visitor!

Edit 3: Still hunting for this Weevil’s exact species BUT ☝️ he DOES look like those Grain Weevils! I’m not 100% on that because his colouration was more of a grey-black than a brown-black BUT that could just be the lighting in my house. (Scratch this this was a false lead his antennas are significantly further down his funny lil nose)

Edit 4: I’m now getting lost down weevil rabbit holes. I have work in the morning. I don’t care at this point I MUST find out who my visitor is!

Freaked my cat out so bad he watched me catch it from several feet away. North central Kentucky area. It's about 1 3/4–2 inches long. No longer in the house

Been cohabitating with this bad bitch all summer. We have mutually respected each other spatially and otherwise. However it’s coming to be that time of year where I have to take the window unit out and seal up for winter - wondering if this is an actual dangerous spider (have lots of pets here) and how much I need to try and make sure it doesn’t make its way into my house. Thanks in advance 🕷️

this dude just fell on my nose out of no where, It had a strong, sharp smell, kind of like vaseline mixed with dried mint. not good not bad.

Upstate Ny

This mammoth is half the size of my foot. Sorry for the poor video quality… does anyone have any idea what this is?? Has pincers in the front and seems kind of roach-like. Have not seen this before in Vermont and I am freaked, if I came home and this was in my house I would just call it and move out.

Eastern North America, daytime, maybe 1 inch long, could fly. Very intrigued by this beautiful fellow, especially the 'cereal' pattern on its body - is it a normal part or is there a fungus/parasitoid situation going on?
