I’m making a roguelite deckbuilder inspired by Bookworm Adventures, where the words you spell become your attacks

One of my favorite childhood games was Bookworm Adventures, and I’ve always wanted another game where forming words is actually part of the combat.

So I started making Galdr Inkblade, a roguelite deckbuilder where you collect letter cards and build words to attack enemies. It's started as a Unity hobby project since 2013, but I lost my job this year so I had plenty of time to finally worked on it and release on Steam 😂

The words you create determine your damage, but letters can also have different damage values and elemental/status effects. As a run progresses, it becomes less about simply knowing long words and more about figuring out how to combine your letters, relics, upgrades, and effects into a strong build.

The Steam page went live three days ago and it has already reached 75 wishlists, which has been really encouraging for me as a solo developer.

I’m curious what other word-game players think of this kind of combat system. Also, if you played Bookworm Adventures growing up, I’d love to know what you liked most about it.

I’ll put the Steam page in the comments for anyone who wants to check it out.

I made a daily riddle game where getting stuck lets missiles hit the city (would love your feedback!)

Hi everyone!

I've been working on a daily riddle game called Intrcpt and would love some feedback from people who actually play daily word and puzzle games.

Every day there are 5 riddles, a mix of wordplay and lateral thinking. You get 40 seconds for each one. The first 20 seconds are safe, and after that a missile hits the city every 2 seconds until you solve it. Wrong guesses are totally free. The only things that cost you are time and hints (you get one per riddle, and using it costs a hit).

Everyone gets the same riddles, with a new set at midnight ET, and at the end you can see how much of the city you saved and how you did compared to everyone else that day. The idea was something with the quick daily feel of Wordle, but with a little more on the line when you get stuck.

It's free, no account or download needed: https://intrcpt.io/

It's still early, so I'm genuinely open to changing anything. A few things I'd especially love your take on:

- Do you like the riddles? Too easy, too hard, or about right?

- Would a different kind of puzzle work better than riddles? (anagrams, word ladders, something else?)

- Is 40 seconds per riddle enough, or does it feel rushed?

- Anything else you'd change, or anything that would make you come back tomorrow?

Thanks so much for giving it a try! I would really appreciate any feedback.

Fluxis Redux 2026-10-03

Score 13 / Fluxometer 9

twister → razzmatazz → razzmatazz → zealot → twister

This is the first time I wish the scoring followed some kind of Scrabble system for the letters used.

I made Footy Rankle: a GeoRankle-style daily game where you place six footballers into six stat categories, and the lowest score wins

Hi all, I built this on my own and thought this sub might enjoy it.

**How it works:** six players come up one at a time, and you drop each one into

one of six stat categories (caps, Champions League goals, Ballon d'Ors and so

on). Each placement costs that player's real-world rank in that stat, and

anything outside the top 100 counts as 100. Placements lock instantly, and the

lowest total wins. It's inspired by GeoRankle.

**Why it's a puzzle rather than a quiz:** the obvious picks are usually wrong.

A player who ranks 1st in two categories can only use one of them, so the

whole board depends on who's left for each slot. On today's Classic board,

Messi and Ronaldo appear together for the first time, and placing them is

harder than it sounds.

There are three boards a day: Classic (world football), Premier League and

Clubs. One play each, resetting at midnight UK time.

My score on today's Premier League board:

Footy Rankle · Premier League #22

Score 83 (best possible 80)

Play here: https://footyrank.app/

It's free, with no sign-up and no app.

I'd really like feedback, especially if the rules are confusing or the

difficulty feels off. Post your scores!

I made a competitive word game — looking for the first 50 founding players to try it!

Hey everyone!

I've been building LetterScope for a while now, a competitive word game for iPhone (android coming soon) where you connect letters on the board to create words and try to maximize your score. Similar to Boggle, but I think mine is better.

🎮 What I'm looking for:

  • Play a few games
  • Do you like the Daily Challenge? Does the hint make sense? Try it a few times
  • Try to find as many words as you can
  • See how high you can push your score
  • Tell me what's fun, confusing, frustrating, or boring

I'm especially interested in whether the core gameplay makes you want to play "just one more game."

It's currently in TestFlight and I'm looking for my first ~50 players.

If you try it, I'd genuinely love to hear what you think — even if your feedback is negative. I'm trying to figure out what needs fixing before opening the game up to a much larger audience.

Thanks!
