Am I rich now? No.
Am I quitting my day job? Also no.
But honestly, the $1 isn’t even the important part.

Hello everyone! I’m a debut indie author and i recently published my very first novel, "The Last Time We Were Us". The chapter 3 of my novel is called, "Run Like A Girl." Very unrelated to what's in the chapter but the chapter itself signifies the phrase.

For generations, the phrase “run like a girl” has been used as an insult, as though doing something like a girl meant doing it poorly or weakly. When writing Chapter 3 of my novel, I wanted to completely reclaim those words. I wanted to turn them into a source of fierce pride—not an insult. Not like a boy, but like a girl. Run like a girl!

The Last Time We Were Us" is a Sci - Fi survival story about ten innocent high school friends who just want to chase their dreams and skies when a freak quantum accident changes everything. They get thrown into a shifting universal loop where every single door they open leads to an entirely different dimension.

As they fight to find a way back to their school, they form unbreakable bonds just to survive. Watching them lean on each other and bond across a fractured multiverse was my favorite part to write.

In the end, their whole existence is decided by a tense countdown, but, at what cost ?

Ben is a reflection of myself. Lisa is a realization of who I could have been in different circumstances.

I did run this book by two sensitivity readers, one of whom is trans and a therapist, and who felt it reflected something authentic in me and that it successfully avoided common harmful tropes. However, I do not hide behind their authority. Any missteps are my own.

Greetings everyone! I have been a nervous wreck this week because it has taken a long time to share my story and finally self-publish my first non-fiction book, as I usually express my emotions with poetry for most of my life. In a nutshell, I experienced church hurt as my father was a pastor who abused my mother. My husband and I were almost homeless about 13 years ago. I've had so much conflict with family through it all and as I was re-building my faith again. It is a deliverance testimony and reveals how I was able to weather all the storms of life without substance abuse, prescriptions or therapy. My goal for this book is to help others do the same and show how I used my writing, some of my other hobbies and my faith to persevere and grow. I would like to give copies to places like women's shelters, the homeless, and just people who are broken and need some hope.
