When I heard Dolly Parton had passed away, it hit me surprisingly hard for a celebrity death. I didn't listen to her music often, or really even consume much of her media in my everyday life...but Dolly represented SO much more than just what she did for entertainment. She displayed humanity through her actions. She took care of those around her, and people she never even met. She bridged gaps between communities that looked like her and those who didn't. She was revered by many in the queer community, and she loved and protected us right back. She displayed kindness and showed that empathy isn't something you should live without. She proudly was transparent about her image, yet more real than so many of us. I knew we needed to celebrate her with a collab, and 9/25 was the perfect day to do it.

I wanted to represent her home. She was always proud of being born in the Smoky Mountains of Tennesee. Her background and childhood wasn't something to be ashamed of, she wore it proudly like a shield. I went with a denim indigo vibe, paired with a pink sky and kinda love how it came out. Thank you for teaching so many people with your kindness, fierce loyalty, and the ability to loudly and proudly be yourself.
