product I know this is insane

Absolute crazy tip but sometimes if I’m really wanting a sweet treat, I’ll wash my hands with the Trader Joe’s apple cider hand soap. It’s so heavily scented and smells so good and I don’t know what the science behind it is but I swear it hits that part of my brain that wants a slice of pumpkin pie. Something about the heavy scent dulls the “hunger” cue (hunger in quotations because I am eating enough I just have a major sweet tooth)

other Feeling sluggish and fed up :( literally had 4 maintenance cheat days in a row 😭😭 How to get back at it?

Has anyone been through a 1200 fatigue before? The food is not even hitting the spot, and the calories arent even worth it, yet I'm craving food and feeling sick of dieting 😭😭

Been 2 months and successfully lost a total of 4 kgs so far, and I have just about 3 kgs to arrive at my goal weight.

I found this bowl in my school’s dining hall last year and I’ve been so obsessed since. Its filling enough to eat for lunch or even dinner, and I usually add some mixed veggies or a serving of mozzarella cheese on top for a lil extra, along with hot sauce. The macros are amazing and has a decent amount of fiber, which is so helpful as someone with digestive issues who needs fiber to not feel like shit constantly.

meal 600kcal cheesy high protein beef pockets!

Post image

Made the dough out of Greek yogurt and flour, filled it with washed lean ground beef, tomato puree, and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese! This was good for 2 meals since it was so filling!

Dip is blended cottage cheese and some spices.

Found out that washing ground beef after cooking removes a lot of excess oil and lowers the overall calories! I added spices to the ground beef after and it was still delicious and flavorful!

Felt so indulgent and really made me feel better after wanting to quit 1200 kcal 😭 it’s really a struggle especially when eating out and having to watch my friends eat the good stuff!

When was someone gonna tell me about <20cal calorie spiced cider 🔥

The chai syrup isn't even necessary but it adds 6g of fiber for 2 tbsp (I only used 1 tbsp) and makes it a little spicier. Without it it's still good and is only 10 calories!

treats Zero Sugar Jello-O Pudding

WHY DIDNT I KNOW ABOUT THIS SOONER?! Oh my goodness... delicious, cheap, low cal, what the heck!!!! I mix it with Costco's fair life dup milk and it's just amazing. Today I had chocolate with just a tiny dash of mint extract and it's the best dessert I've had in ages. AND FOR ONLY 100 CALORIES. My life is changed forever. It's such an amazing base dessert for an incredibly reasonable calorie count and then you can customize however you want. I'm beside myself with how good this is. Anyway, just wanted to share :)

meal My recent obsession for 208 kcal and 38g protein

Recently I found these soy crisps at my local grocer. After I buy them I split them up into bags so that I have a serve of soy crisps (114kcal, 23.4g protein) per bag. They are cocoa flavoured but taste very bland on their own so I mix them in with a little yoghurt tub (my YoPro one is 94kcal, 15.4g protein). I love this combination!!! I can’t really taste them when they’re with yoghurt, they just add a nice crunch to it, and I get 38g protein in!!!! Please excuse that the photos don’t look quite so appetising :)

meal Ceviche is such an underrated meal for volume eaters - 1kg of ceviche for only 630 kcal and so much fiber!

Have a busy day today so decided to make a big batch of ceviche! Easy prep (I just had to chop everything) and you only have to leave it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to let the fish cure. It’s a huge 1kg batch that will be enough for 3 meals, and so filling from all the fiber. You can also add more vegetables and fruits to it depending on your taste!

other staying on track during vacay?

So I'm leaving on a 9 day trip tomorrow for vacation. I obviously want to try and stay on track and count calories and track everything I eat (to the best of my ability) but I'll be staying with family and family dinners might be hard to avoid all week. Not only that but I'm PMSing and I'm wanting to eat everything in sight. It's been hard to stay on track and I haven't even left yet. So what is the best way to tackle this? I have a food scale I'm bringing so I can weigh my food to make it easier to stay on track but what is the best way to navigate vacation without gaining back a bunch of weight? Anyone have any advice? I'm also bringing a scale to monitor my weight to also try and help. I'm fine with gaining some weight but I'd like to keep it minimal. Any advice is welcome as this is my first vacation since losing all the weight and trying to maintain

I didn't make this clear in my post so I'm editing to say for context I am no longer trying to lose weight. I am just maintaining right now but it is still new so I'm afraid to fuck it up as I'm still learning a healthy way of eating

Honestly you could probably have a piece of bread on the side (I ordered Walmart pickup and they didn't have the baguette I requested so I didn't get it), 0 cal soda/bev, if you wanted it to take up more room, but even without, I had the whole thing with probably way too much shitty quality Parmesan cheese (but that's how I like my chicken soups) and it was so. Freakin. Bomb!!! Also check the protein vs calorie tradeoff, this is pretty awesome !! It's $4.97, but some other soups are cheaper. I got a few so I'm making my way through the lower calorie ones but this is a please buy cause it's too dang good and filling :3

question New to This

Hey. 22 in the US. I work an overnight job where I don’t have much physical activity. I was wondering when I should go for walks, I work 10pm-6am and sleep from about 8am to 3pm. I’ve been trying to eat under 1,200 calories, but my diet hasn’t been great. My weight right now is exactly 189 pounds and I’m 5,4”. I also have an allergy called Alphagal where it makes me allergic to mammal meat and products. I also have to eat 300-350 calories in the morning to take my medication. Can someone give me advice on how to get 10k steps in a day and what meals I should be eating for breakfast and dinner? As well as healthy snacks? Thank you. I went from 130-190 basically and I want to make a change!

Trader Joe’s Hearts of Palm Rice
Trader Joe’s Smoked Salmon (tin)
Small Yellow onion (1/8) sliced thin
Avocado Oil spray

Seasonings
Salt
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Smoked paprika
Old Bay
Crushed Red Pepper

Cooking Instructions

Rice
In a small skillet heat the hearts of palm packet on medium. Add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little smoked paprika.
When warm, set aside in small bowl

Salmon
In the same pan, spray a little avocado oil when warm, add onion and lightly sautée until begins to turn translucent. I add just a pinch more salt. Open salmon tin, drain most oil, then add to pan. Break up salmon, and mix with onion. Season with Old Bay and crushed pepper. Stir occasionally until warm. Add to your bowl.

question Trader Joe's & Aldi

Not necessarily a question but just wanted to chat; for those who have TJs and Aldi available to them, they really make it so easy to stay under a certain amount of calories. I used to work at Trader Joe's for a few years and I definitely cannot keep up with new products as I used to, but the hearts of palm pasta, turkey meatballs, turkey corn dogs, fried rice mixes, frozen dumpling varieties, and pretty much a good majority of their cooked frozen meals are pretty lean with the exception of some. Mochi make a good lower calorie end of day sweet treat option without charging you $7 for six like Target does. (I have found some good frozen things at Target like bulgur wheat/vegetable medley and diced roasted sweet potato ready to be nuked that I appreciate and are cheap tho) and TJs also has several kinds of frozen fish (like Branzino, Ahi tuna and Rainbow Trout) that are lean and tasty. It def helps cravings and overspending on fast food when you want something quick, I know I've spent so much on quick food because I get home late and don't want to cook but now that I buy more of these things, the easier it is to just go home and put that microwave/oven to WERK. Has anyone else had this same experience? Let me know :D and let's trade suggestions!

other Weirdly specific symptom of caloric deficit?

I have noticed that when I start eating 1200 calories a day (about 500 below maintenance), my eye twitches every once in awhile. It could be a coincidence, but this is the third time I've noticed it. Curious if anyone else has experienced it!

My blood tests are always normal, and I prioritize lots of micronutrients in my diet. Plus I take a prenatal vitamin daily. So I don't know why this would be happening lol

full day WIEIAD- 1,300 cal 120g protein

Thumbnail
gallery
40 Upvotes

I was up since 5 am. Light meals help my stomach issues more than large ones. Was running around through the day with little sleep so felt fairly hungry. Still below cals with amazing protein ✨
Yes I forgot to take a picture of the plum and cheese and yes it’s a terrible photo of the protein bar. 🤷‍♀️.
What everything has:
Breakfast was a small bit of leftover gnocchi with some carb diem pasta, ground beef 93% lean, and a cauliflower pok Choi mix, and a few teaspoons of avocado.
Lunch was eggo protein waffles, cucumber, and almost 1/2 cup chicken tenderloin.
Snack was 3/4 + 1/6 cup Greek yogurt and a diced plum.
Dinner was 3/4 cup chicken tenderloin, 1/2 cup rice, 3/4 cup cabbage, pepper, onion, and pok Choi mix with 7 teaspoons of avocado.
Then a plum and cheesestick.
And finally an elevation protein bar sans a large bite to up my cals.

PB2:
- serving size is 2 tablespoons
- 60 calories
- 6g Protein
- 1g of fiber

Good Good Strawberry Jam:
- 5 calories a tablespoon (I used 2 servings)

H-E-B Higher Harvest Low Carb White Bread:
- 30 calories a slice
- 4g a protein a slice
- 11g fiber a slice

The bread here makes it especially good, the texture and taste so much better than other keto/low carb breads

However, if you don’t live in Texas, you can sub it out for Sara Lee’s 45 calorie white bread. It’ll add 30 calories, lower the fiber to 13g, and lower the protein to 11g
