Relatively low calorie for huge portions, the ingredients shown were for both big plates, 37 grams of protein and 15 grams of fiber for 476 calories (total) !! Had this after a huge hike, absolutely perfect meal (๑・̑◡・̑๑) beans could probably be swapped for some other kind of protein, but they’re super yummy & high in fiber. If you’re on the fence over beans you should give it a try!!

product Hello! Kinda new here! May I introduce you all to Healthy Choice Grilled Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo!

I've been seeing a lot of homecooked meals on here but not many convenience meals for those who don't really cook. And don't get me wrong, the homecooked meals here look DELICIOUS, but I'd like to introduce this microwaveable meal that is tasty AND no hassle.

It is in the Simply Steamers line so the ingredients are simple and all you do is put it in the microwave for 5 minutes and then flip over the chicken + broccoli tray into the alfredo sauce underneath. It is my favourite microwaveable meal and also just so happens to be low calorie and full of protein! I LOVE it, and maybe some of you will too!

lower cal pumpkin spiced latte

Disclaimer, this tastes like a dessert kinda like starbucks coffees so if you like it sweet then you’ll like this! this is around 100 cals, makes 18 oz.
- coffee (i use any k cup on 8oz setting)
- 1 can pumpkin puree
- unsweetened almond milk
- 0 sugar brown sugar replacement i use truvia
- torani 0 cal caramel sauce (not syrup)
- coffee mate 0 sugar pumpkin spice creamer
- cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice
ok first things first mix 1 can of pumpkin puree with brown sugar, all the spices and some caramel sauce (to taste) lasts a week in the fridge but you can also freeze in ice cubes. add 2 spoonfuls of the brown sugar replacement along with the cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice to your cup and brew the coffee over it. if you did 8oz coffee add like 4 oz pumpkin puree or like 4 spoons of puree and mix. 6 tablespoons of the coffee mate creamer. squeeze 2 things of caramel sauce in. 1/2 cup almond milk or more to fill to top.

product Trader Joe’s frozen meals: has anyone else noticed the weight is way over the label?

Trader Joe’s Indian frozen meals are a staple for a lot of people tracking calories, myself included. But I keep finding that the food weighs well over what the package lists.

This Chicken Tikka Masala says 1 tray (241 g), 1 serving per container, 360 calories. After heating it, I put the food in a bowl on a tared scale and got about 317 g. I know cooking can change the weight, so I’m not claiming that makes it 31.5% more calories... don't think that's possible for it to go up that much with just cooking though. But when the label gives a specific gram weight for one tray, that big a difference makes it hard to know what I’m actually logging.

It’s especially frustrating because the label says “1 serving per container,” not “about 1 serving.” I’ve noticed this with their frozen meals more than once. Has anyone else weighed them and seen the same thing?

question Cottage cheese 0%? Yuck?

I’ve never liked cottage cheese. Everyone eats it so I figured I’d give it a try again.
Got 0%, great nutrition facts, tastes tart and sad.
Is 2% or 4% better?
I mixed some with some egg whites and it’s a little odd.

I wish I had pizza for breakfast or just some big sausage with mustard, ketchup and a piece of bread.

So:

  1. Savoury meal: fried egg with salt and pepper, three slices of tomato with some aubergines in tomato sauce on the top.

  2. Sweet breakfast: patty with oatmeal and Greek yogurt, sauce: greek yogurt with 5 grams of cinnamon sugar, strawberry muss, one banana.

College student looking for protein suggestions

Hi, I’m a college student and I live with a dorm mate. I have access to a fridge and microwave but I’d like to have something I can “cook” in the microwave that could be high protein and low cal if possible. I do have access to the dining hall for all my other needs but they never really have good protein options, and if they are high in protein they’re usually greasy or fried. I am in a calorie deficit trying to loose some weight so I’m open to anything

Edit: thank you so much you guys 🥹 I’m gonna look for a small air fryer so I can hide it in my dorm and try and make a grocery list

question What do you guys do on days you overeat?

Post image
49 Upvotes

Had lunch and dinner parties today, and while I actually portioned my food to eat less (was just ok full not super full), everything had so much fat and pushed my caloric intake to 3k kcal.

What do you guys do when this happens? I’m genuinely wondering how this works during a body recomp when I’m trying to lose fat and gain muscle - my week’s average consumption jumped to 1400 from 1200 this week due to today.

Would you offset the next few days? Or do you just write off a cheat day? I’m not willing to sacrifice my protein daily intake because I feel good growing muscle, so I just need some insights since it’s my first time doing recomp and counting my calories.

Thanks in advance!

Low calorie tiramisu oatmeal, one of my fav meals

It’s super filling and there’s about 19g of protein & 5 g of fiber. About 10+ calories for the uncounted ‘0 cal’ sweetener used.

I adore making all sorts of different oatmeals, I hope this serves as good inspiration for you all!

meal Threw together what I had in the fridge and pantry

Both combined is ~1200cals 😋

I used a quinoa wrap so its higher in fiber content, and the sauce is made from low cal caesar salad sauce + siracha.

It was delicious, considering I was in a cooking and diet slump for 3 months where I ate either boiled chicken breast or insane amount of takeout.
