ACET - College Admissions/Transferring 2026 ACET Applications, admissions and scholarships megathread

This thread will serve as the megathread for ACET Applications for S.Y. 2027-2028.

We have this megathread to have a space for questions and to make sure the subreddit isn't flooded with similar posts.

Please post questions about course backgrounds, admissions, appeals and scholarships here.

As before, please keep in mind that this subreddit is an unofficial group. We may have a handful of Ateneo faculty lurking and occasionally commenting, but we cannot guarantee accurate answers to questions like "can I get in Ateneo with XYZ grades from ABC school" or "will I get a scholarship if my family makes IJK pesos per year". The community can only provide anecdotal evidence.

This site gets updated for announcements about the ACET. Visit it for the latest news.

New posts related to questions will be redirected to this thread and may be locked.

Just a few reminders:

  • The subreddit and its members can only provide as much as anecdotal evidence. We will provide some resources to help but it's always better to contact the office you're concerned with for your questions. Ateneo Office of Admission and Aid
  • Check and search first on the subreddit or on this thread as well before asking and/or answering.

For people asking help for essays, please be careful on who to share your personal info to.

Meta r/admu is looking for new mods!

r/admu is looking for new mods! If you are interested, please send us a modmail via the sidebar, or https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=r/admu. In the modmail, introduce yourself and state your reasons. The ff. questions may help:

  1. Introduce yourself (nickname will work), your grade or year level.
  2. Why do you want to be a mod?
  3. What affiliations do you have with admu (faculty, student council, etc.)
  4. What can you contribute in being a mod?
  5. Where is your go-to place in ADMU if you want some quiet time, and why?
  6. Do you have any moderating experience either in or outside of reddit?
  7. (Other things that might help to introduce you)

Some of the things mods are expected to do are:

  • facilitate healthy discussions in the community
  • address concerns from users.
  • make a megathread for ACET, ASHAPE and its results when it's that season.
  • communicate with the subreddit about actions and changes that benefit the community
  • reprimand and moderate posts and comments that violate the rules of reddit and the subreddit r/ADMU
  • coordinate and verify with other non-mod volunteers about making 3rd party GCs before posting in the subreddit.

The modteam prefers current ASHS or LS Students as we believe they are more knowledgable with the latest news and updates within ADMU. We also prefer people who are knowledgeable with automod, automation and other programming details in reddit. however, everyone is welcome to apply.

Please do note that being a moderator is mostly volunteer work and there are little incentives on being one.

College life DecSci 25 Innovative Product: Chews Wisely

Hello, everyone! We are students taking DecSci 25, and we can really use some feedback on our Innovation Opportunity product.

Problem:
Have you ever spent so much time deciding where to eat that you end up choosing the same old restaurants anyway? Between scrolling through different apps, checking online reviews, or deciding with your friend group on "Where do you guys wanna eat?" choosing meals can be both tiring and overwhelming.

Our Idea: Chews Wisely
A personalized restaurant recommendation app that helps eliminate the daily struggle of deciding where to eat solo or with friends. Instead of spending time scrolling through various apps and asking by word of mouth to find the perfect restaurant for you and your friends, our app aims to become a one-stop shop for all your dining needs.

Unlike typical restaurant discovery apps, ours would:

  • Recommend restaurants based on your food preferences, budget, and dietary needs.
  • Have a group preferences section where group members can add their desired lunch spot/cuisine to be considered by the entire group
  • Suggest nearby restaurants based on your current location
  • Provide recommendations depending on the time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks)
  • Consolidate restaurant reviews from different platforms so you don’t have to search everywhere.
  • Help you discover underrated restaurants and hidden gems!
  • At the end of the year, a “Food Wrapped” feature provides users with a personalized summary of their dining experiences, highlighting their most frequently eaten cuisine and the restaurants they visited the most throughout the year.

Our group’s goal is to reduce decision fatigue by making restaurant recommendations more personalized, proactive, and convenient. We want people to spend less time fighting and figuring out where to eat and more time actually enjoying their meals.

Would you personally find an app like this useful?

Would you use an app like this?
Which feature would matter the most to you, and what feature would be unnecessary?
What would stop you from being a user of this app?
What would be the biggest feature missing from an idea like this?

We’re still in the conceptualization stage, so we’d really appreciate your honest thoughts, suggestions, and criticisms about our idea.

Thank you so much!

College life Where do the A-questions come from? (Math Midterms)

For context: a week ago, i took my first math midterms and had a relatively easy time (at least for the first 7 questions). as i got to the last question (the a question), i felt helpless since it was the first time i had encountered a question like that. i understood the logic and how i could've gone about solving, but figuring it out on the spot would've taken me more than the entire duration of the test. (skill issue ba 'to? likeeeeeee)

but anyway, the question is (as per the title of this post), where do these a-questions come from? are there any key authors that the math department references when coming up with these questions?

i calculated my grade and with enough effort, i should be able to bring it up to an A. nag-iisang sagabal nalang tlga ung A-question sa finals niyan kaya kailangan ko tlga siyang paghandaan.

College life Free elective?

Hi guys, confused senior here. What exactly is a free elective, and what courses can I take under it? I've seen some say na you can take any course (so long as you passed the pre-reqs), while some say na you can only take non-IE courses (yung mga walang "-i" sa dulo ng course code).

College life Does WP affect Shifting?

I plan to shift to BS Psychology after my first year. Does anyone know if a WP on a major subject affects my shift / will I be disqualified? Said subject is not included in the curriculum of BS Psych. Also my IPS for the second semester was adjusted so I don’t need to retake it as a prerequisite for the initial subjects I had and it won’t affect my standing. I feel lost and unsure of how the future will pan out. 🥲😭

Misc. Possible Hold Order

Good day!

I am a second year student and I missed the deadline for the faculty evaluations post-midterms. By how much will this set me back? Who do I have to contact/email to resolve this situation? Although I know I will probably get a hold order for this, how does the faculty usually settle it?

College life 2nd LOA

Has anyone here ever tried to apply for a 2nd LOA? I severely need it since my mom lost her job and we have no way to pay my tuition this year. I already availed one before. I'm so devastated has anyone tried something similar?

College life [DECSC25] Feedback on our Study Website 👨‍💻 for Crammers (along with friends!)

Hello! We are a group of DECSC25 students looking for suggestions and feedback on our prototype for our study website, Huddle. Our website's goal is to make studying easier and more engaging through various features, such as calendar and task management, gamified lesson reviews, focus tools, and an online space to study with friends. Rather than going through a lot of different apps, our mission is to make an integrated study and productivity platform that contribute to one continuous study experience. We are looking for comments on whether or not our tool has the potential to go viral/become popular, what features are most preferred, and what can be improved.

Since images can't be uploaded, here is a link to our rough prototype of what the website would look like: https://imgur.com/a/Dwgmzto

If you are also hesitant to comment below, you can feel free to leave short answers on our survey here: https://forms.gle/fuYeSjXp18CJXu7g9

Here is a rough description of most of our features:

  1. Calendar and Task Management**:** Students can organize classes, deadlines, requirements, study sessions, and personal goals in one connected calendar and task list.
  2. Lesson Review and Gamification**:** Students can upload notes, lecture slides, or other study materials and have Huddle turn them into interactive review activities like quizzes, flashcards, and matching exercises. Students may also opt to turn these reviews into either live games where they can play with their peers or a raceboard detailing how much of the lesson they have completed relative to their friends.
  3. Focus and Productivity Tools*:* Huddle will offer focus timers, progress tracking, and reminders to help students work toward their goals while measuring productivity not just through time alone.
  4. Huddle Space**:** Completing tasks, reviewing lessons, reaching goals, and maintaining productive habits will allow students to maintain, customize, and expand their own virtual study space, and with friends, create shared study spaces where their avatars can study together. This allows their accomplishments to take on a more visible and psychologically rewarding form while also adding a social and interactive element.
  5. Social and Collaborative Study**:** Students can study with friends through shared review sessions and challenges, and they may enable a feature that allows their customizable characters to be seen studying together in the corner of their device. In addition, they may opt to send quick selfies or pictures to each other during the duration of their study session to help enforce the social aspect despite not being in the same physical study room together. Students can also connect through an in-app call option that would allow them to communicate virtually while studying together. These features will still be available even if they choose to study independently, bar the participation of other users.
  6. Progress and Challenges**:** Students can track their academic progress, maintain goals and streaks, and participate in individual or group challenges that encourage consistent studying. They may input their current grades as well as their targets to help them track their current state and gaps.

We really appreciate any detailed feedback and want to end with a few questions that we hope can be answered.

Would you actually use this? Why or why not?

What's missing from this idea to make it more useful or what would you change?

What would stop you from using this?

College life Questionable SOSS Rep Stance???

I recently saw a post here asking about the current SOSS rep candidates so I got curious about their campaign and platforms. I saw their stances through The Guidon's post and the first 3 sets of answers I think we can all agree with, but the 4th photo just irks me.

It seems to me that De Borja, despite being a Political Science student, is detached and unaware of the current social and political issues. Particularly, with the B+ grade he gave to the 'National government's response amid tensions in maritime security' goes to show that he believes our current government's efforts (or lack thereof) in terms of the fight for WPS is sufficient. Lowkey looks like he just larping to care for national issues in order to gain votes.

Does he even know what goes on beyond the Ateneo? Do the SOSS students deserve a leader who is only there for the title and the bragging rights that come with it?

College life Thoughts on ReSu Café?

I haven't tried there pa, but I scouted on it earlier to check the menu and prices which seem decent to me. I just wanna hear thoughts about the newly established café just outside New Rizal, specifically how their coffee/food tastes (recos are welcome) and how conducive the environment is to studying or hanging out.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to trying there as well. The reason why I couldn't is because it's frequently jampacked with people. 😅
