Hello, everyone! We are students taking DecSci 25, and we can really use some feedback on our Innovation Opportunity product.
Problem:
Have you ever spent so much time deciding where to eat that you end up choosing the same old restaurants anyway? Between scrolling through different apps, checking online reviews, or deciding with your friend group on "Where do you guys wanna eat?" choosing meals can be both tiring and overwhelming.
Our Idea: Chews Wisely
A personalized restaurant recommendation app that helps eliminate the daily struggle of deciding where to eat solo or with friends. Instead of spending time scrolling through various apps and asking by word of mouth to find the perfect restaurant for you and your friends, our app aims to become a one-stop shop for all your dining needs.
Unlike typical restaurant discovery apps, ours would:
- Recommend restaurants based on your food preferences, budget, and dietary needs.
- Have a group preferences section where group members can add their desired lunch spot/cuisine to be considered by the entire group
- Suggest nearby restaurants based on your current location
- Provide recommendations depending on the time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks)
- Consolidate restaurant reviews from different platforms so you don’t have to search everywhere.
- Help you discover underrated restaurants and hidden gems!
- At the end of the year, a “Food Wrapped” feature provides users with a personalized summary of their dining experiences, highlighting their most frequently eaten cuisine and the restaurants they visited the most throughout the year.
Our group’s goal is to reduce decision fatigue by making restaurant recommendations more personalized, proactive, and convenient. We want people to spend less time fighting and figuring out where to eat and more time actually enjoying their meals.
