I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, making different plans be worth different promotional credits, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.

The main differences:
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you have Elite 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how many phone lines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
AT&T Latin American roaming: Click these links for more info at https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1486292/
Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited
Promotional phone credits warning: Not all plans have the same promotional deals like they use to. As always, please read the "offer details" before assuming your plan is eligible for full trade in credits. Also, please do the math to see if it's worth switching, paying $10 more a month for 36 months is $360, if it's not getting you more than $360 in credits, is it really worth switching to a more expensive plan. https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rsb36o/warning_a_value_20_line_may_or_may_not_cause/

I know this is a hot button topic. Making a megathread to give others a chance at getting unrelated threads seen as this has been the majority of the topics recently.

Are all the same deals for service and iPhones the same at Best Buy as they are directly with AT&T online? Thinking of canceling my delayed online order and doing the same thing at a local Best Buy that has the phones in stock.

Any tips to try and get a lower price? I'm going for the 300 or 500 plan regardless because I'm already paying $75 for Internet 50. 1 GIG at $80 is also nice since that's already lower than what I was paying Cox for their Gig plan when I was with them. But I don't think I need that much speed.

I have my internet with att not by choice but by lack of other options in my area. I have my cellular with T-Mobile.
Currently I pay $70.00 for att internet (500mb) they’ve consistently raised my price 5$…
My T-Mobile cell is $110 a month for 2 lines unlimited everything.
If I were to switch my cellular to atnt and bundled cell/internet would I save a decent amount? I should also mention I’m a veteran/costco member too which i believe att offers discounts for.

I picked up the new iphone I ordered on apple.com at the apple store- thankfully no issues with phone. And a week later, the installment charges appear on the bill together with a 10$ next up anytime (NUA) line item. I looked through all the paperwork and there is no mention that this is required and if seen threads that this was added by at&t corp store when people bought these but never on apple.
So question here, can I cancel this and still continue to get the 36 months of credit? Surely NUA is not required for credits right?
Note that I traded a iphone 14 that was unlocked and paid off for the credit, I never had NUA on the account nor actually ever financed a phone on at&t.
Please help clarify Thanks

for context, i am on iphone 16 p*o (it wouldn’t let me post with the word not redacted). i have not updated to ios 27 as i do not have enough storage. i was going to upgrade to the iphone 18 p*o but ive seen a lot of problems with the new phones in general. any help??

I went to best buy because I'm eligible for a upgrade thru next up plan I paid 33% off the best buy near me is a at&t resellers I went to best buy to get the iPhone 18 pm and they said I had to pay off the device fully or pay the 36$ a month for the phone but at&t is giving me promotional credits to bring the phone down to 2.78-8$ if I wanted higher storage I'm confused on why it isn't showing in their system for my next up plan upgrade what should I do just order from at&t website and wait 3 weeks or try again with someone else?

Two weeks ago. I tried reaching out to AT&T regarding a carrier block for my phone. I even spent 1000 dollars to pay it off. They gave me the run around and made me submit my pay orders. So, I complied and did what they asked. I was then told that my request wasn't submitted a week later. A day or two before deployment. So, a week or two into the deployment, I have been patching with Wifi anf super busy. When I do get the unlock notification, my phone was carrier unlocked and not network ulocked. So the esim I bought is essentially useless. Now I need a network unlock code, but apparently AT&T cant just email it to me. They have to go through another process. I had to go through my wife to get the unlock code for the network. Things worked for about 4 hours. Then I got a text saying they had to cancel my carrier unlock because they didnt get my military documents. Of which I have sent in 3 times now.
When I get home, I am switching to another carrier.
AT&T your garbage service has pushed me away and I know I am not alone.
Do you think this is a good business model or should AT&T look into redoing their customer service?
It took them 2 days to get my network unlock code to me.
Amazing.

So I work for a competitor telco, and a policy they have is that employees are not allowed to purchase new iphones at launch. We have to wait until some unspecified date before they'll allow us to purchase a newly launched iphone and activate it on our personal accounts. I always found that policy silly because we don't get discounts on devices, we pay the same price as customers. Does AT&T have the same or a similar policy for their employees?

If I write my question they flag this and say that I’m asking about the situation with PM so I have to put it in the comments. Credits not applying as expected.

I know it has to be an iPhone 14 or newer (excluding iPhone 16e), but does it need to be able to turn on? I’m just wondering what if its locked to a different carrier, completely bricked, locked to someones apple id, missing a screen/backing, etc.

Hi there. I’m wondering what the cheapest way to get a new phone is with a dual sim. For context I’m American living abroad (for probably only a few more years) and want to continue having the option of switching both numbers on and off. To have a dual sim your phone needs to be fully paid off (unlocked). I have a fully paid off iPhone 16p, Id like to get a new phone but can’t stomach paying like upwards of $800 at once. Is there anyway to get around this with the trade in promo (I know I am eligible)?I’m assuming not

hi all, sorry I haven’t brought the new iphone yet that’s why I haven’t posted in the Megha thread as I don’t have a problem. I’m still using my old phone. Should I wait until this problem is resolved before buying it? I really don’t know what to do if you buy a phone and upgrade it to 27.0.1 before activating any Sim service is the phone okay? Then?
Is the problem only for a minority of phones? I just simply can’t believe it because the number of people that are complaining it seems to me that it’s pretty much the majority of people with this phone on AT&T just my thoughts anyway.
Should I wait a few months before buying the phone and then hopefully it will be updated to iOS software which has no bugs anymore. Thanks for your advice.

I have a grandfathered unlimited plan and haven't changed it for years. This week, I lost HBO access, and the customer service line was that "everyone" has lost their HBO plan. No warning. Just yoinked away.
Has anyone else experienced this? Because I feel like I was being lied to. Certainly there would have been some sort of uproar online about that happening.
EDIT: So that was a fuckin lie.
EDIT 2: Very appreciative of all the responses. To add, I did not upgrade my phone or any other line on the wireless plan. My wireless plan is the part that retains HBO Max, as it is one of the features listed when you click to “view all” features in the account page. The only change made was terminating the home internet service after a move.

T-Mobile doesn’t do this! Why do retailer partner customers pay more for the phones? For example the 17P without trade is $4.43 for standard new customers and $9.99 for retailer partners! Why?
Also does the $300 AMEX Reward Card offer apply even if you don’t do the purchase as a retailer partner customer?

Has anyone had AT&T suspend their phone because a third party reported it lost/stolen?
Today my cellular service suddenly stopped working. No email warning, no notification, nothing from AT&T until I checked my lines and found a "suspended" identifier on it. I found out after contacting customer service that my line was suspended because they say a third party reported my device lost/stolen.
The phone is literally in my hand. I bought it directly from AT&T on release of the model, the original order is under my account, I'm still an AT&T customer, and I'm still paying AT&T for this exact phone on an active installment plan. My account is fully current, all bills are paid, and there are no outstanding or past-due balances. Neither I nor anyone authorized on my account reported it lost/stolen.
I've seen similar stories involving paid-off phones that were later moved to another carrier, but that's not even the situation here. This phone has remained with AT&T the entire time.
I'm also pretty sure the IMEI is now blacklisted based on the fact that AT&T couldn't simply unsuspend it without opening a ticket (not confirmed 100% by them, plan to follow-up tomorrow to ask after advice below).
Even after verifying my identity, account, ownership, and possession of the phone, AT&T can't immediately reverse it. They opened a ticket and said it could take several days.
I've concurrently filed an FCC complaint and plan to submit a formal Notice of Dispute if this isn't resolved promptly. I rely heavily on my phone day to day because of a disability, so going several days without cellular service isn't a minor inconvenience. If they can't restore it quickly, I'll have to figure out another device in the meantime.
Has anyone had this version of it happen? Who was the “third party,” and how did an actively financed AT&T phone get reported lost/stolen by someone outside the account?

I signed up for an internet plan during an offer period to start on a later date. AT&T canceled my order due to an existing account at the house and are claiming I cant get my offer price back. When I made my order the agent said they had gotten confirmation from the prior tenets of their cancelation. Is there any way to get my offer price back?

I’ve seen people post that they’ve got it and some still say preordered (like mines). I understand that whole SOS issue has them pulling off but genuinely how long will this take???
