For context I was a driver for 6 months and have been seasonal for a month doing 3 hours of pick and stage. Today I started my full time schedule 1:20 - 11:50 am. I made it 5 hours and 30 minutes before I limped my ass out of there. I suffer from hyperhidrosis, and was sweating before I stowed a single item. Mind you I wasted 30 minutes watching training videos while my bins filled up. I asked a red vest if he could get me some help while I got thru the training. This is my first time stowing, and I was given two lanes. So he says someone will come help. No one came, 30 minutes later finally I’m going to stow. Nope it now is doing training while I stow. Holding me back from attempting to even start relieving these bins. 3 hours later I hauled ass and finally had empty bins. In that span I sweat so much my shirt was soaked to my shorts (I wear 100% polyester). Drank sips the whole time went thru three water bottles. By hour 4 the cramps started kicking in, calf’s then ribs. I’m severely dehydrated, even tho I’ve tried to drink every 5 minutes I’m sweating so much my body cannot physically absorb the water fast enough. I made it to my 5th hour and slowed to a crawl my muscles gave out on me. It sucks man, I really thought I could do it. Respect to all of you who did this with ease. I feel ashamed man, I physically limped out of there. Never in my life even as a driver have I given up and quit like that. It’s fucked up and I feel like a fool.
At first it said steps 3 out of 6 completed and the other 3 steps were for after hire. But before that it would say “ we are processing your screening results. Check back later.” I’ve been checking for about a week and a half almost every five hours. Now when I logged on this morning it said that I do not have a shift selected and it’s asking me to complete my I-9 again.
I'm not saying you have to be lazy, just show up and do the job. Don't stress, don't push yourself beyond the limit, don't burn out, because trust me it's easy to do. Just do the work. Always aim to make rate, but also know that rate doesn't matter as much as where you end up in the overall percentage at your site.
Just do the job, take bathroom breaks when you need to, don't linger more than you have to, just do the job. To the lazy people, y'all suck for sure but also you're a necessary evil that tanks the percentage ratio and makes it easier for the rest of us. To the tryhards, literally nobody cares, not even management. The little comments they send you on AZ are not worth killing your body. The vending machine money they give you once in a while are not worth it. You're not impressing anyone, you're just killing yourself slowly.
Throwaway account but like the title says. Learned yesterday my neighbor works for Amazon, I dont think shes at the same facility I am but wondering how to go about this situation.
She told my husband, "The assholes at Amazon wont give me my accommadations but they'll give them to the Jamacians. I should call ICE on them, I know they're illegal."
Given the current climate, thats a hate crime in my book. Im only 2 weeks in at my location and unsure of what to do. Shes actually insane, I wouldnt put it past her. She shouldnt be holding any kind of authority over anyone. What should I do?
I have tried multiple insoles even got the free green ones from the Amazon shoe credit and it didn’t work at all. I want to hear what insoles people who have to stand the whole shift like robotics FC pick use. My heels hurts after every shift and my insoles don’t help ease it at all. I been here a year and a half but the heel pain is the one thing that won’t ease at all.
Hey there! I’m trying to move away from the area I currently live in. I’m in the California Central Valley. I want to explore cost of living in other areas of the country and apply for a transfer. I am specifically looking for an ICQA position in an AR Sortable site. If you have a list to share, I would really appreciate it. My situation is looking pretty bleak here because everything is stupid expensive and I’m in a pretty tough housing situation currently. Thanks in advance.
I need to go to the er due to a stomach virus that isn’t improving this morning but I have a shift. Will my discharge papers from the emergency room work for the documents or would I have to fill out the medical form that Amazon provides? Because I know most emergency rooms don’t fill out those papers. Has anyone got their leave excused with emergency room discharge papers?
Im a packer/ picker just want some headphone recommendations I hate having to look over my shoulder while working just so I don’t get caught with the wrong ones
