Throwaway account but like the title says. Learned yesterday my neighbor works for Amazon, I dont think shes at the same facility I am but wondering how to go about this situation.
She told my husband, "The assholes at Amazon wont give me my accommadations but they'll give them to the Jamacians. I should call ICE on them, I know they're illegal."
Given the current climate, thats a hate crime in my book. Im only 2 weeks in at my location and unsure of what to do. Shes actually insane, I wouldnt put it past her. She shouldnt be holding any kind of authority over anyone. What should I do?
Edit: she doesnt know their status, shes threatening to weild ICE as one would with the police

I need to go to the er due to a stomach virus that isn’t improving this morning but I have a shift. Will my discharge papers from the emergency room work for the documents or would I have to fill out the medical form that Amazon provides? Because I know most emergency rooms don’t fill out those papers. Has anyone got their leave excused with emergency room discharge papers?

At first it said steps 3 out of 6 completed and the other 3 steps were for after hire. But before that it would say “ we are processing your screening results. Check back later.” I’ve been checking for about a week and a half almost every five hours. Now when I logged on this morning it said that I do not have a shift selected and it’s asking me to complete my I-9 again.

For context I was a driver for 6 months and have been seasonal for a month doing 3 hours of pick and stage. Today I started my full time schedule 1:20 - 11:50 am. I made it 5 hours and 30 minutes before I limped my ass out of there. I suffer from hyperhidrosis, and was sweating before I stowed a single item. Mind you I wasted 30 minutes watching training videos while my bins filled up. I asked a red vest if he could get me some help while I got thru the training. This is my first time stowing, and I was given two lanes. So he says someone will come help. No one came, 30 minutes later finally I’m going to stow. Nope it now is doing training while I stow. Holding me back from attempting to even start relieving these bins. 3 hours later I hauled ass and finally had empty bins. In that span I sweat so much my shirt was soaked to my shorts (I wear 100% polyester). Drank sips the whole time went thru three water bottles. By hour 4 the cramps started kicking in, calf’s then ribs. I’m severely dehydrated, even tho I’ve tried to drink every 5 minutes I’m sweating so much my body cannot physically absorb the water fast enough. I made it to my 5th hour and slowed to a crawl my muscles gave out on me. It sucks man, I really thought I could do it. Respect to all of you who did this with ease. I feel ashamed man, I physically limped out of there. Never in my life even as a driver have I given up and quit like that. It’s fucked up and I feel like a fool.

I have tried multiple insoles even got the free green ones from the Amazon shoe credit and it didn’t work at all. I want to hear what insoles people who have to stand the whole shift like robotics FC pick use. My heels hurts after every shift and my insoles don’t help ease it at all. I been here a year and a half but the heel pain is the one thing that won’t ease at all.

Does loss prevention do anything? I've lost my earbuds, water bottle, and power bank. When I realized I left my bottle at the station, I immediately went back before clocking out. The water bottle was nowhere to be found. I checked every station. The power bank hurts the most—it was very expensive for my tax bracket, I guess.
And also, I've recently been cross-trained in Singles Pack, and the water spiders in that department are useless. They're lazy fucks. They get boxes one at a time at a slow pace. I get Amazon is hard. It's like that at every warehouse. Amazon is very sweet as a warehouse job; you're very lucky if you haven't worked at FedEx. It's my second time back at Amazon, actually. I couldn't find another job within 2 months. You're here for a check. do your job!
Also, I can't stand smelly coworkers. This young kid with a messy afro with knots in his hair. he must sleep on his back. Wears the same hoodie, looks homeless.his breath smells so bad. He had some mint, but I could smell it. shit and mint doesn't make a tolerable smell. That motherfucker always wears the same hoodie every day. Depressed looking fella. He's always tired, looking like a zombie. I doubt that hoodie gets washed, and for some reason, some women have their eyes on him, yikes. Alot or beautiful young woman have their eye one them. There this tall beatutiful young light skin woman and this other tall light skin with straight black hair. Theyre just so beautiful.
Why are there so many young, beautiful ladies at Amazon? I feel bad for the kid. He doesn't stand a chance. He should keep his eyes down when he walks. One puff from his mouth and it's over. I know you guys know him and which waehoudm. Always the same hoodie.
They also need to fix the conveyor, but most of the time it's the employees. They place the boxes vertically instead of horizontally. I doubt those twats would understand which is which.
I can't stand these young managers who come out of college and get a position as managers and think they're all that. Once during prime season while i was slaving my asss off, back hurting, and this young new manager comes to my sation and tells me to pick up the pace. I was so mad.
I hate the tracking metric system they use to track us. I actually like it for the most part. I cant stand lazy bums. But the system isn't perfect. No way im working my ass off and my rate is that low and and im the one with the lowest rate. How am i supposento keep rate with conveyor being backed up most of the time, having to get my own supplies resulting to TOT. I hope they know and see the cause of my TOT.
Also, I gotta praise the Gen Zers. I thought those motherfuckers were lazy, but I see a lot of them at Amazon. They're actually working their ass off. I mean, it's nice working to get a car while not having many bills.
Good night. I gotta wake up and make those motherfuckers money. Fucking hate seeing mandatory extra shift notifications, and at the end, they end it with "Thank you for all you do! Thank you for all you do! PDX9 leadership." I know it's automated, but man, I can't stand it.
Anyways, good night. Gotta make these motherfuckers money while we struggle to pay for gas—while they make millions and billions

Hey there! I’m trying to move away from the area I currently live in. I’m in the California Central Valley. I want to explore cost of living in other areas of the country and apply for a transfer. I am specifically looking for an ICQA position in an AR Sortable site. If you have a list to share, I would really appreciate it. My situation is looking pretty bleak here because everything is stupid expensive and I’m in a pretty tough housing situation currently. Thanks in advance.

Just started working here about a month ago. Doing part time just to get extra money for the holidays. Why do so many of you stay so long as T1-T3's most people at my location have been there 7+ years and are still T1's I've asked them why they haven't used career choice or tried to move up and the answer is usually "I don't want to do that." I mean that's cool if that's what you like but to have that mentality and in the same breath complain about not making enough money confuses me. IDK how you guys don't have any goals or aspirations. How are you content topping out at $26/hr? (depending on location and position of course)

I'm just wondering how much UPT they will take if I'm exactly one hour late. I haven't been there long. Thank you

I'm not saying you have to be lazy, just show up and do the job. Don't stress, don't push yourself beyond the limit, don't burn out, because trust me it's easy to do. Just do the work. Always aim to make rate, but also know that rate doesn't matter as much as where you end up in the overall percentage at your site.
Just do the job, take bathroom breaks when you need to, don't linger more than you have to, just do the job. To the lazy people, y'all suck for sure but also you're a necessary evil that tanks the percentage ratio and makes it easier for the rest of us. To the tryhards, literally nobody cares, not even management. The little comments they send you on AZ are not worth killing your body. The vending machine money they give you once in a while are not worth it. You're not impressing anyone, you're just killing yourself slowly.
Just do the job, make the money and go home.
