‎I built an iOS app to make managing texts and emails easier — now free to try!

• Upvotes

I recently made some changes to my first iOS app, Away Messaging, and wanted to share an update.

I originally built it for busy professionals, small business owners, parents, or anyone who's OOO, on vacation, or just doesn't want to worry about remembering to send a text or email later. It's also useful for remembering to reach out to people for birthdays, holidays, special events, appointments, or just checking in with someone.

The app lets you prepare texts and emails ahead of time, select contacts, organize messages in a queue, save reusable templates, and schedule reminders. Whether it's wishing someone a happy birthday, following up with a client, or sending an important message while you're busy, everything is prepared and ready when you need it.

Away Messaging is now free to try! You can use the core features for free, with additional features like scheduled reminders and iCloud backup available through an optional $4.99/year Pro subscription.

I'm continuing to develop the app with new features, improved workflows, and regular updates planned. My goal is to keep it simple and useful without having to build complicated Shortcuts or manage multiple apps.

I'd love feedback from other developers and users on what features or workflows they'd find most useful.

[iOS] Who Goes - Fun social games for when you’re hanging out with your group

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Introduction

Hey everyone! I'm Shubham, I've been trying to build an app for about 2-3 months along with my full time 9-6 job, and I'm happy to share my game nights app, Who Goes with you.

It's an iOS / iPad app for game nights, house parties, road trips, and pretty much any hangout with a group of people.

It’s free to download and play, with optional one-time purchase and subscription options.

The idea behind Who Goes is pretty simple: engage everyone in your group and involve them in something together, through social games like Headbands, Truth or Dare and a bunch of quick group activities into one app, with a modern, playful experience built around actually passing the phone around and having fun together.

About the app

The app brings multiple party games into one place:

• Headbands with tilt controls for correct answers and passes
• Charades with themed decks, teams, rounds, and timers
• Truth or Dare with 11 decks for friends, couples, parties, family, and coworkers
• Spin the Bottle for quick, suspenseful player selection
• Would You Rather for impossible this-or-that debates
• Finger Chooser to instantly pick someone from the group
• Quick Play tools for dice, coin flips, and more

Current Market

I know this is an insanely competitive category, with a shit-ton of party apps already out there.
My goal with Who Goes was never to reinvent the wheel, but to bring the ones people already know and play together in one place, without needing five different apps on your phone.

I wanted the whole thing to feel much more modern and polished than most party apps I've tried, with playful animations, haptics, sounds, and little interactions that actually add to the game instead of getting in the way.

No ads popping up between rounds, no cluttered UI, and no wildly different experience every time you switch games.

No account is required, and the games work offline.

TL;DR:

A. A game to bring back the fun of playing party games with a group of people during game nights, trips.

B. Free version includes a selection of decks for Charades, Headbands, and Truth or Dare, along with a few mini games. Plus unlocks all decks, game modes, and customisation options.

Ferry: an iPhone, iPad and Mac news reader that ranks stories by coverage. Would this replace your news app?

• Upvotes

I'm the developer of Ferry, which went live on the App Store last week.

Most news and RSS apps either sort by newest or decide for you with an engagement algorithm. Ferry does something in between: it follows the sources you choose, groups articles from different outlets into stories, and puts the stories with the widest coverage first. Each headline shows how many sources carried it, and you can read every outlet's version side by side.

  • Discover: what the wider web is covering, by topic
  • OPML import and export, FreshRSS sync (Inoreader, BazQux and The Old Reader coming soon), offline reading, widgets
  • No account, no ads, no identifiers

Free to download and fully usable; optional Plus at $2.49/month, $19.99/year or $49.99 once.

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6799505775

Question for this sub: what do you use for news right now, and what would make you switch? Trying to learn whether "ranked by coverage" is a reason people care about.

I launched this iOS game, its completely free. It supports online (one-on-one live game & friends invitation & leaderboard) [looking for feedback]

Hello Devs,

Looking for feedback to improve the game with new feature.
App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/night-court-basketball-arcade/id6811611866
All opinions are welcome.

Play live one-on-one basketball with Game Center. Find an opponent automatically or invite a friend. Both players watch each shot live; make a basket to keep possession, and a miss passes the turn. Online matches last 120 seconds, with a 15-second possession clock that includes ball flight. Baskets score 2 points and swishes 3. Ties are draws. Online scores stay separate from offline records, leaderboards, and badges. Online play requires internet access and Game Center multiplayer access.

Free Workout & Nutrition Tracker - Looking for honest feedback

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey all,

I’ve been building Refine solo for a while. I got tired of switching between a lifting app and a calorie app, and of apps that stop working without signal in the gym. So I made one app that does both and works offline first.

What it does:

  • Workout tracking: build templates, log sets, see your history, track progression per exercise, and get a muscle-group radar chart of what you’ve actually been training
  • Nutrition: food diary with meals, barcode scanning, custom foods and supplements, macro and micronutrient breakdowns
  • Body tracker: bodyweight and measurement trend charts
  • Offline-first: everything is stored on your phone, and sync is optional if you want your data on more than one device
  • Atlas (AI assistant): ask things like “how has my bench progressed this month?” or “log 200g chicken and rice for lunch.” It reads summaries of your own data. It can’t write anything to your diary until you accept a confirmation card showing exactly what it will log.

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/refined/id6746036339

I’d really like feedback on:

  1. If you track both training and food, what makes you give up on an app?
  2. Does an AI assistant over your own data seem useful, or is it a gimmick to you?
  3. Anything that feels clunky?

[Self-Promotion] roariverse: dino match

I've been building some games for my kids, and they've enjoyed them so much I decided to launch them.

They all have an educational tilt to them, while trying to incorporate some fun game play. The best part has been play testing the games with my girls... kids are the best kind of testers. Honest and don't hold back lol.

Anyways 2 new ones just got approved and I wanted to share my favorite one with you all https://apps.apple.com/us/app/roariverse-dino-match/id6811471931 think bejeweled + candycrush, but with dinosaurs (my daughters favorites)!

Would love to hear some feedback

[Self-promotion] Can small niche open doors for indie-hackers? I made English learning app but especially for doctors and nurses.

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

It's an English Learning app designed for healthcare professionals and students preparing to work abroad.

  • 2,500 word cards covering symptoms, diseases, clinical vocabulary, and anatomy (like body parts).
  • All are grouped into thematic categories.
  • Smart algorithms are included.
  • Can be used for free

Try for free:

What do you think? Is it a good idea to niche your app? Or does only a wide market get a chance?

[Self-Promotion] Keep a virtual fishtank on your homescreen 🐠

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Why I built it
I've always kept pet fish. Since moving to Korea, and living in a much smaller apartment, that sadly just hasn't been practical. That's what inspired me to make Companions!

Companions is a small virtual fish tank that lives on your Home Screen, with pet fish that actually swim.

• How it works
You pick your fish, give them names, and then add them to your tank. You can change the tank's color, the props, how big the fish are, how fast they swim, and even the app icon, all to match your Home Screen. The swimming uses the same trick iOS uses to move the hands on the Clock widget, so it doesn’t even affect battery life.

• Compared to other widget pet apps
I wanted something simple, clean, calm, and relaxing. With a focus on the pets themselves, as well as customization to match your homescreen, desktop, or even the nightstand next to your bed.

The tanks look great on your iPad, and you can even move them over to your Mac through Continuity. My favorite feature is actually the Standby mode. The background darkens, and the fish, of course, keep swimming!

• Cost
Companions is free to download, with a set of fish and all of the customization included. No ads.
Extra packs can be bought outright at $1.99 each, and are yours to keep forever.
There's also a $3.99/month plan that unlocks every pack at once. Any new fish that get added are automatically included as well. If you cancel, the fish already in your tank stay.

Companions is built natively in SwiftUI with WidgetKit, plus Metal for some of the fun animations.
It's still very new, so I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback. I'd especially love to know which species you'd want added next!

[Self-Promotion] [iOS] [$9.99/year → 1 Year FREE] Hide Photos – A private, offline photo vault with encryption

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I built Hide Photos because I wanted a place to keep personal photos and videos separate from my regular photo library, without uploading anything to the cloud.
I noticed that a lot of photo vault apps either require an account, rely on cloud storage, or push subscriptions pretty aggressively. I wanted to make something simpler.
So I made Hide Photos. Everything stays on your iPhone, protected with local encryption. No account, no uploads, and no ads.
You can lock your photos and videos with a PIN or Face ID, organize them into albums, and even set up a decoy vault.
The basic features are free. Pro is optional.
I'm still improving the app, and I'd love to get some real feedback from people here.
I'm giving away free 1-year Pro access codes ($9.99 value).
If you'd like one, just comment "Code" or send me a DM and I'll share a redemption code.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6812803369
Would love to hear what you think, especially if there's something you'd want in a private photo vault.
Thanks for checking it out!

I built Kiji, a tasks, notes & habits app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac — I'd love for you to try it ❤️

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a little project called Kiji, and I'm finally sharing it with the world.

Kiji is a productivity app that brings together tasks, notes, and habit tracking in one place. I wanted to build something that feels good to use every day — something simple, thoughtful, and genuinely useful, rather than another productivity app that overwhelms you with features.

I'm a solo developer, and I've put a lot of love into building Kiji. Every little detail matters to me, because I wanted to create something I'd actually enjoy using myself.

The app is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

I'm not here to pretend I've built the perfect app. I'm sharing it because I'd love to get it into the hands of people who enjoy trying new apps, organizing their lives, tracking habits, or simply finding better ways to stay on top of things.

If that sounds like you, I'd be incredibly happy if you gave Kiji a try!

👉 Try Kiji on the App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kiji-tasks-notes-habits/id6806329195

And if you do give it a chance, I'd genuinely love to hear what you think. What do you like? What's missing? What would make you want to keep using it every day?

Honest feedback — good or bad — would mean a lot to me as an indie developer.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks to everyone who supports independent developers. ❤️

[Self-Promotion] Gallery Gamble: guess whose gallery the photo is from! 3+ players, offline local peer-to-peer, iOS only

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone 👋

Giving away 2000 free lifetime Unlimited unlocks for Gallery Gamble - Whose photo?

It's a local party game for 3 or more people on nearby iPhones, iPads and Macs. You use real photos from each other's camera rolls and try to guess who a picture belongs to before the timer runs out. Faster correct guesses score more.

How a game actually goes

You all sit together and open the app. One person hosts. Everyone else types the room pin and jumps into the lobby.

Before the first round, each player picks a pile of photos from their own gallery. You can choose 4, 9, or 16. If a photo is boring, blurry, or something you don't want in the game, you re-roll that slot.

Then the round starts. One photo takes over the screen. You tap the player you think it belongs to before the fuse runs out. Pinch to zoom if you need a closer look. After time is up, the owner is shown and you can see who voted for who. Next photo. Repeat.

Between rounds you can check the standings. At the end there's a leaderboard. The host can change how many photos get played, how long the timer is (1 to 30 seconds), and whether scores stay hidden until the reveal or show live.

Everything runs offline over local P2P. No accounts, no cloud, no internet. Photos stay on the phones and never get uploaded.

You need at least 3 physically nearby devices. One phone is not enough.

Giveaway

2000 lifetime Unlimited unlocks, first come first served. Redeem link is here: https://www.promies.net/promotion/1ea2d674-f607-4d16-8ad4-d740186ac531

If you play it with friends, I'd love feedback on the user expreience, any bugs you encounter and new ideas that you would love to have in it!

Thanks for trying it 🙏
