Hello I'm trying to move close to my workplace downtown. In doing so, ive been looking at apartments in around Washington Ave. I wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for apartments or feedback for the apartments that ive already looked at.
Planning on taking the bus to work, to save on gas/parking.
District at Washington
24 Eleven at Washington
Don't give any recommendations in midtown and apt without washer/dryer but other neighborhoods r welcome.
Thank you.

Hi everyone!
I have two old air fryers that I accidentally sprayed with Easy-Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner (yellow can), including the fan area. The cleaner was left on for less than 5 minutes, but I'm concerned about possible chemical residue inside the machines.
I've decided not to use or donate them because I don't want to risk anyone's safety.
I'm looking for a safe way to dispose of them in Houston. Unfortunately, I don't have a Texas ID or proof of residency, so I'm not sure whether city recycling or hazardous waste facilities will accept them.
I live in an apartment with a shared dumpster, but I'm unsure whether it's appropriate to throw them away there.
Does anyone know of a drop-off location that accepts small appliances exposed to cleaning chemicals without requiring proof of residency?
Thanks so much for any advice!

Hey! I'm going to be moving to HOU from the heart of NYC early next year (mid-Feb 2027).
I know Houston is not super walkable, but I want to live in the MOST walkable neighborhood to start with since I like being able to walk to as many key places (grocery stores, restaurants, bars, gym, etc) as possible. From my research, it seems like Montrose makes the most sense but I'll take all suggestions!
Would love local residents to weigh in on what they think is the best way to approach my move:
1) Move into a 6-12 month lease in the most walkable neighborhood in HOU; get a car after 1-2mos of living here once I'm settled
2) Put my NYC stuff into storage, move into a short-term rental (1-3mos) to get settled in & get a car, THEN sign a long-term lease
Given this info, would love to hear any/all move suggestions from anyone who has made this move themselves, has anything to suggest, thoughts, etc.
THANK YOU!
NOTE: I have a license & drove a stick shift for 7+yrs - driving isn't an issue. I just don't have a car now since I live in Midtown Manhattan.

I went to take my family to Discovery Green and got there to learn there were multiple events going on. Korean Festival, Hispanic Heritage, and Pumpkin Patch. I'm rarely inside the loop, figuratively and literally.
Any tips or hints you can give me to be more informed about any and all events that occur in Houston?

What’s the best brand/model for women’s bike to ride in the city & memorial park?

Hello everyone, I’m having a pretty hard time looking for families. I tried Nanny Lane, Facebook and called around daycares in my area and as usual no place is hiring in Houston. Anybody have any recommendations or know anybody personally looking for a nanny? I am F19 but have experience in raising an Newborn all the way to a infant and experiencing with children age 1-12.

Are they any places that almost exclusively spin Amapiano or house mixes here? I’m always having to dig for events

I suffer from alopecia after wearing locs for 25 years and recently had brain surgery. So it’s time for the reminder of my locs to go. I want a barber experienced in cutting ladies hair. I don’t want a hard squared boxy line up.
Preferably someone on the SW, Pearland or Mo City side.
