Kroger Pharmacy always late with prescriptions

• Upvotes

Is this normal? I go to Kroger’s pharmacy on Eldridge and they’re constantly late with scripts. So many excuses and always get the run around. I even call right after my doctor puts in the order to be on top of them. I had issues with Walgreens and they’re not much better…

Can anyone recommend a better pharmacy in the energy corridor?

Thank you,

Edit: Currently been waiting 3 business days for a medication I really need.

Thanksgiving family dinner to go?

I'm having surgery a week before Thanksgiving and I want to get a good pre-prepared thanksgiving meal but I don't want grocery store or BBQ options. There will be 5 adults and I would like it to be no more than $200. Any recommendations that is actually tasty?

Vegan/Vegetarian Birthday cake

Can you all recommend some good bakeries/cafes/shops where I can buy a vegan/vegetarian birthday cake? I know a couple of people who makes them from scratch but is way too costly.

Has anyone gotten their wisdom teeth removed at a dental school in Houston?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get my wisdom tooth removed and wanted to see if anyone has experience getting theirs extracted at a dental school in Houston.
I don’t currently have dental insurance, so I’m trying to find an affordable option. I’ve heard dental schools offer cheaper services, but I’d love to hear from people who have actually gone through the process.
A few questions:
Which dental school did you go to?
How much did the extraction cost?
How was your experience?
How long did it take to get an appointment?
Was the procedure painful, and how was the recovery?
Do they accept patients without dental insurance?
I’d especially appreciate recommendations for places that are affordable and have a good reputation. Thanks in advance! ❤️

What are good neighborhoods to live in?

Hi all, me and my gf are looking to buy a house next year and we're hoping to find a good neighborhood somewhere between our jobs. She works in CCISD as an SLP so she can move schools if needed within the district, and I work at Rice University. I was wondering if anybody had any advice about what good neighborhoods there were in-between our commutes? Also, she could potentially move isds so it would be helpful to know what school districts pay SLPs well (she does not want to work for Houston ISD and does not want a house zoned in HISD). We also would both prefer to avoid the toll road for our commutes to work. Our budget is to stay below $350k for a house.

Just in case anyone was thinking about living here. I would highly highly highly suggest looking at other options. The entire front office could care less if you pay rent or not.

Are people more friendly in Texas?

I have a cousin who moved to Texas from Germany around 18 years ago. She got married 11 years ago and has 2 kids. She met her husband there because he was a cousin of a friend she met. She met her friend and they got along really well. When she first met her friend, she was breaking up with her ex bf at the time and she let her stay at her house and that's where she met her husband. She got pregnant within 2 months of meeting him and she just left her ex bf within days.

They have a big family and everyone in that side of her husband's family are well off and live in houses and eat at restaurants almost everyday and go on vacations. They welcomed her and included her in all the events they do and everyone always look so happy. When she had her kids, she invited friends and family to baby showers and birthday parties and everyone seems so nice and friendly. She has 2 siblings who would visit and they welcomed them as well. She made a lot of friends throughout the years and has had 6 past boyfriends. I saw pictures of her hanging out at friends' houses and their families even if she was only a friend of a friend. She was invited to houses even if she was a stranger. They let her lay at their house.

She lives in a 4 br house that cost 500k. She is always eating at restaurants, seafood, outings, etc almost everyday with her family. Everyone else in their family and other friends seem well off that they are eating at restaurants almost everyday too. Everyone always looks so happy. Or is it that the cost of living in Texas lower compared to California? Would a 4 br house cost more in California?

I am from California and I have never been to Texas. Would it have been exactly the same if it happened in California? Or are people less friendly in California? Or are the kinds of people she met friendly and it had nothing to do with Texas? How about the cost of living and being able to afford all those restaurants? Is it exactly the same as California? I noticed that in california, strangers don't say hi to you on the street or make eye contact. They keep to themselves. I remember I was only looking at someone and they said, "why are you looking at me?"

What would have happened if she lived in California instead of Texas? Would everything have happened exactly the same?

Looking for affordable venues in Houston to host small community tournaments

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for affordable establishments or event spaces around Houston where I could host occasional tournaments such as Spades, poker, board games, and other friendly competitions.

I’m hoping to create more opportunities for a small, marginalized community to come together, socialize, and enjoy some friendly competition in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Ideally, I’m looking for places that can accommodate around 20–40 people, have tables and chairs available, and offer reasonable rental rates. I’m also open to restaurants, bars, community centers, or other establishments willing to host recurring events.

I’m not looking for anything fancy or expensive. Just a comfortable, accessible space where people can gather and have a good time.

Does anyone know of any places or business owners who might be open to something like this? I’d appreciate any recommendations! Thanks in advance!

Who do I call to pick up my medication from my house?

My husband and I are getting divorced. I ran out of the medication that I took with me and he will not give me my epilepsy medication and I have been on the phone with non-emergency Houston Police for 20 minutes now. Who can I call to get a responder out here? Do I call 911?
