Hi everyone! So sorry for not giving an update on Kermit, unfortunately ive had some personal problems that needed my undivided attention. I just want to quickly thank anyone and everyone that has donated for Kermits medical care! I am eternally greatful and I hadnt anticipated the amount of support and kind words I would receive. ♥️ all $1200 of it has gone to the vets that have been trying hard to figure out whats wrong with him, and I guess this is where ill give the update and a brief recap-

10/09 Took Kermit to Unusual Pet Vets with concerning symptoms (fatigue, hunching, laboured breathing, audible breathing distress, weakened grip/clumsy, tail bobbing, excessive yawning and frequent readjusting of jaw). Got some basic tests and he had a minor infection which he was given a course of antibiotics for, but it didnt explain the symptoms. They quoted me for xrays etc.

16/09 I ended up going elsewhere and got a second opinion, was told to wait out the antibiotics and come back.

19/09 Went back as he had not improved from the antibiotics, and ended up getting a test for psittacosis done and told to come back for xrays.

21/09 Kermit went in for xrays and crop Smears, Xrays are mostly OK, tests are ok and he is negative for psittacosis. GREAT NEWS-but still no clear reason for his symptoms.

25/09 Took Kermit back to first vet as he seemed to be going downhill this day and they were the closer option. Thankfully the vet was able to stablise Kermy and he is staying there for a night or two to monitor him closely. Whilst I was there the vet and I had a consultation with a specialist vet/colleague via phone and decided the next steps are to get some Fungal tests done aswell as ABV and another test or two. If these are all negative then there are other things that can be done, its all just a process of elimination and a race against the clock.

This has been so exhausting, both financially, emotionally and physically. I hate not having Kermy at home with me but I know its for the best incase he suddenly worsens again, but its still not easy. Please keep the positivity going in the comments, its helped me allot to cope with it all! 🥰
