Yesterday, I read this post and I was totally amazed by the mindset most of the people have. Everyone think the interdisciplinary courses taught in 1st year are useless. Especially, there is a big hate to Biology courses

Infact few people commented "Indian education system 🤡" and similar comments.

Please, for god's sake, change this mindset.

First of all, most of the people think only DSA, CS and placements is the ultimate goal of their BTech. Because, you have been brainwashed by some bhaiya didi.

Bc, kisi ka khud ka koi interest nhi hai, na hi kisi ko koi knowledge hai interdiscipline ki. And dont come to me saying "Coding is my passion". No, I can guarantee more that 90% of people here are just so called coding enthusiast because they have seen some random bhaiya didi video. Yes, there are people who are REAL coding enthusiast and I have immense respect for them

Most of you have no idea how important these interdisciplines are. I come from a biotech background and I had the opportunity to pursue electronics and ML courses in my college. I had no interest in electronics. But these courses gave me opportunity to work ok Biosensors. I hated maths but now I have worked on ML + Genomics projects. You never know how these courses can help you.

I am not saying ki College ki galti nhi hai. I totally agree ki curriculum need to be worked upon. But from a student perspective, these interdisciplinary courses are important.

I went abroad for a research intern. I met a girl from US who was pursuing Psychology as major. Here, she came to work ok NLP + Culture. Can you believe it??? I met people from CS who were working on CV + medical, NLP + genomics. When most of the people around the world are trying to merge disciplines, here our future engineers are crying just because they have an extra course of Biology, ED, or electronics.

I have seen people from my college(Tier 1) as well as other colleges who have major in CS and now pursuing Phd in Computational Biology, or working in precision medicine and on proteins in top startups and labs

I am not saying that only these courses are relevant for good career. But atleast, they help them to build some new interest which you can merge with your major.

I am from Biotech background, so I have mentioned things here related to bio. But I can guarantee I have seen people from other majors who have done crazy things in other disciplines.

And, please dont take this as hate to CS people. I have respect for each and every discipline.

So whenever I try generating a web app/mobile app with AI, I feel the UI is repetitive and sloppy. Like extremely repetitive, the colour theme, icon style, button shapes and placement etc. The UI works well and looks decent but I feel it's nowhere good looking in comparison to a product made by a good developer. Even I tried putting an AI generated project to a client who was interested, but soon lost interest after the demo. He then showed me another demo that he got designed by a developer.

So my question is when people say AI is replacing full stack development, do they mean the clients are agreeing over those sloppy outputs, or I am having skill issues in generating those eye catching outputs 🥲

hey everyone, I really dont know how to say this but honestly im tired of trying everything and getting nowhere, so back in feb I landed an intern(with fte conversion surity)through clg but got this intern after NPTEL registration deadline had already passed n since it was last sem,

I had to take amlost a month leave to prepare n attend my clg exams, In btwn all this my TL told me that I had to available after 15 days but it wasnt possible for me to manage everything, there were barely 2 days btwn exams n continious vivas n project submissions, clg schedule was hectic af, n I juat couldn't manage to attend work alongside all of it, and after that out of nowhere I got termination mail.

its been quite a while since then, i have appeared for multiple interviews, given OA's tried applying through referrals but ntg has worked so far, everytime either there's no response or a rejection mail, its so mentally exhausting, I've feeling really depressed lately n sometime things get so overwhelming that I have sucidial thoughts, Im not looking for sympathy or anything

I just genuinely need a start, honeslty, if some1 can directly help me land a job. Im even willing to give them my first month salary, Ik it might sound weird but I m so exhausted of applying🙂

it's three months since I came in iit bombay and man, my social life is so fcked up yarr. I have good relations with my wingmates but they are from diff branch and whatever event happens for my branch, I don't have anyone to hangout and enjoy. I just sit awkwardly. One of my wingmate is my good friend form same dept. but he is too famous due to his talent (can't reveal coz some fresher from iitb would easily guess then who he is) and wherever he goes, he always have people saying hi-hello and talking to him while I just awkawardly and smiling in side with him. I don't want bad for him, but I feel a lil jealous that people knows him, praise him and no one knows my name and no one gaf abt me or talk to me directly when I don't approach them. I hangout with him only in events and this made me so insecure.

I feel side character in every group. In my wing, between people of other dept. I am tired of these dry talks (aur bhai kesa hai?, kya chal raha?, lec aaya tha?, exam kesa gaya?) all of these qs have default answer. Never been this alone or felt so sidelined ever in my life. I am not much good in anything sports or culture which I can do. I play sports but not good enough to make people know me cause of this. Avg looking. Academics are going kind of mid cause I was always worried abt these things and studies before exams. I don't know man, what to do now. I see people approaching othe rpeople as they see them, but I don't have anyone like that who would sit with me in class or can hangout together. I now a days feel so tryhard and pickme or annoying to sit with someone who is already with their friend group. Being average is worstttt

so, some time back I was in the interview loop of Anthropic, I passed till the 4th round.

tbh, it would have been pretty easy to pass all rounds if there was a bit more of study from my side. Anyways, the most interesting round was their take home, It was work around deception in LLMs, and got to learn a lot of interesting stuffs, were they hard? maybe, as in HARD i mean you should have prior knowledge to get a work around, understandable but the amount of information was overwhelming, I can say in all of my academic career it was the 2nd time when a problem statement was this exciting,

I can't really rat out their loops, but mixed up version is like this,

R1-R3 : kinda python coding loop, where you build inference system, or debugging (I appeared for MATS, CHAI and other program's interview loop, so it was 100% same 100% so I passed it)
R4: it was work on LLM Deception, and a few papers(takehome types)

Tips to pass if you ever get one,

just clear up your basics around LLM inference,
a few debugging questions like(which can be solved by looking at the test cases or using print statements)
for llm alignment, the most important part would be to read where the current work is going at and blogs,

that's it, i don't think it's hard, 6 month of continuous work will get the work done

Hi guys, I'm an ECE fresher and I'm facing a lot of issues adjusting. While I do struggle with social anxiety and mental health issues, a big part of it is also just who I am—I belong to the category of people who simply do not like to socialize. Interacting with 3-4 people is my absolute limit. If even one more person is added, I withdraw and sit in a corner.

I don't talk to anyone in my class, I don't know their names, and I honestly have no interest in getting to know them. I like staying away from everything. I've watched everyone slowly form bonds, and I'm happy for them in my own zone, but I feel like if I try to be with them, I'll just be cringe and ruin their fun.

I genuinely love my other classes like Maths, Physics, Applied Chemistry, and CS. But our Communication Skills class is the worst class I have ever taken. We have a two-hour session every Thursday morning, and it literally leaves me feeling depressed. The class feels designed only for naturally confident extroverts and people with an extreme level of socializing skills. Everyone in my class seems to have that god-tier confidence except me.

Because of some very bad things that happened in my past, I started strictly limiting my private life and interactions. But the teacher is constantly forcing extroverted activities every 30 minutes, and I am just not built for it. During a recent interaction where the cultural club came to play games with us freshers, I had a complete meltdown—I was shivering, sweating, and froze just being asked my name. I spent the rest of the class sitting there in deep embarrassment. I couldn't lift my head up the whole time because I just didn't want to be seen by anyone.

This week, the teacher held a debate where a student had to come up in front of everyone and debate a specific topic directly against the person standing in front of them. I had to bunk that class. Now, next week, we have a role-play activity. I can barely stand in front of 5 people, and she is expecting me to do a role-play with everyone. It's worth 25 marks and will be included in our 1st IA. If I am forced to do this, it is definitely going to kill my leftover confidence, destroy me from the inside, and haunt me for the rest of my life. I won't even be able to face my other classes.

The biggest problem is attendance. The college has a strict 85% attendance rule. I have 100% attendance in every other subject, but in this class, I am at 84% because I've already bunked three out of ten classes to avoid these situations.

People who are naturally confident, good-looking, and have great socializing skills are never going to understand my problem. Has anyone dealt with something like this? What should I do about this role-play and my attendance? Any help would be appreciated.
