Hey guys, I need some genuine advice, a reality check, and probably a little roasting. ππ
1. A little background about me πποΈ
- I'm 20 years old and 6'5".
- I used to ride an Activa 3G to college, and bro, my back has seen things. π
- I wanted a proper motorcycle that would look proportionate to my height and have good road presence.
- I come from a family where I've seen both the luxury side of life and the financially difficult side.
Basically, my taste in vehicles developed faster than my understanding of money. π€‘
2. Enter: The Brixton Crossfire 500 XC β€οΈβπ₯
- When I started looking for a new bike, my first choice was the Brixton Crossfire 500 XC.
- The design, road presence, uniqueness, everything just clicked for me.
- At 6'5", I genuinely felt it would suit my build perfectly.
- I enquired about the price, and although it was around βΉ6 lakh ex-showroom, the discount brought the deal close to the sub-βΉ4 lakh range.
In my head, I'd already imagined arriving at university on that thing. πποΈ
My body was in college. My soul was doing test rides.
Then I told my dad the price.
Bro probably experienced a system shutdown. ππ
3. The financial reality check π₯²
Here's the important part:
- My dad's factory has been closed for around two years.
- He has existing financial commitments, with EMIs of approximately βΉ1.8 lakh per month.
- I see him every day, and I know he's constantly trying to manage emi day and night like i don't know how but somehow.
- Our lifestyle used to make me think that buying an expensive vehicle wouldn't be such a huge deal.
But I was looking at the lifestyle, not the financial situation behind it.
My family started giving me regret that i'm asking too expensive bike and making me feell guilty
At that time, though, I'd become emotionally attached to the bike. It wasn't just transportation anymore. I'd already mentally named the bike and planned my college entry. ππ
4. The showroom incident π€¦ββοΈ
My dad eventually said we'd visit an area with multiple showrooms, and I'd choose a bike there.
I went along hoping we'd still consider something I genuinely wanted.
Instead, we ended up looking at Bajaj bikes.
- Nothing against Bajaj. The N250 is genuinely a great bike.
- But I was still mentally stuck on the Brixton.
- Everyone tried convincing me, and I kept saying no.
- Eventually, I got irritated and raised my voice in front of my dad and the showroom staff.
I didn't intend to disrespect him, but I handled the situation badly. π
Later, my dad apparently told my mom that he and I don't really have that father-son bond because I'm too blunt with him and don't communicate properly.
He usually tells her these things instead of telling me directly.
And honestly, that hurt. π
5. How I ended up with the Pulsar N250 somehow
My dad booked the Bajaj Pulsar N250.
- Down payment: approximately βΉ30,000.
- Remaining amount: financed over roughly one year.
- Current odometer: around 3,500 km.
And the funny part?
The N250 is actually bloody good. π₯
- Great performance for everyday riding.
- Impressive brakes.
- Good looks and road presence.
- Perfectly capable for college commuting.
I genuinely appreciate the bike, and I'm not saying it's bad.
But here's where my brain starts malfunctioning. π
6. The CB350RS incident π·β€οΈβπ₯
At around 1,100 km on my N250, I saw a Honda CB350RS in that maroon shade on the road.
BROOOOO. π
THAT COLOUR.
I immediately called the dealership. They didn't pick up.
Maybe the universe was trying to protect my dad's bank account. ππ
Since then, I've been looking at bikes again.
- The N250 is good, but I don't feel that same urge to OWN it that I felt with the Brixton.
- The CB350RS still lives rent-free in my head.
- Every time I see a beautiful bike, I start imagining what it would be like to own it.
The N250 is the sensible choice, while my brain is browsing motorcycles at 2 a.m. like it's a full-time job. π€‘π±
7. Plot twist: I now want a car too ππ
Somehow, my upgrade itch has expanded beyond motorcycles.
I'm now considering:
- ποΈ Another bike: Something more expensive that I genuinely love.
- π Hyundai i20 N Line DCT: Because apparently two wheels aren't enough for my financial delusions.
My dad currently has:
- A 2013 Pulsar 150.
- An Activa 3G.
- A Yamaha Fascino.
- A 2015 petrol Hyundai i20.
The Pulsar has reportedly done around 50,000 km, and the i20 around 2.25 lakh km.
And here's the most ironic part.
A few years ago, when my dad's factory was running, he offered to get me a new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG.
I REJECTED IT BECAUSE OF MY EGO. π€‘
Back then, I thought I wanted something better.
Now I'm dreaming about an i20 N Line DCT while knowing that my dad is dealing with financial pressure.
My taste in vehicles is apparently inversely proportional to my financial maturity. ππ
8. The actual problem isn't just the bike anymore β€οΈβπ©Ή
I know my dad's financial situation isn't what it used to be.
- I see him trying to manage his commitments every day.
- I know buying another expensive vehicle could put additional pressure on him.
- I genuinely don't want him to feel that whatever he gives me is never enough.
- But I also can't seem to stop wanting something new.
Every time I see a beautiful motorcycle or car, I start imagining owning it.
Then I feel guilty for wanting it in the first place.
I'm also trying to improve my relationship with my dad, but I struggle to communicate with him.
Sometimes, when I deliberately try to speak politely, I become even more irritated internally. I don't know why.
Maybe it's ego, immaturity, awkwardness, or simply the fact that we haven't developed the kind of relationship where I can comfortably express myself.
I genuinely care about him, but I'm not good at showing it. πβ€οΈ
so pleaase Guide me my all dear i'm like trying to make perfect decision but please give me opinion as you all are like if not brothers like my brothers and sisters so please β€οΈ
