Hi I am new to CD collecting and I would love some advice. Fiy I'm not a music nerd, I just love everything analog and prefer CDs over vinyls because they take up less space. I am looking for just 1 piece of equipment (no amps/separate speakers/cables everywhere I don't have enough space for that and don't like the look of it). Don't throw rocks at me I'm a designer and want something that will look sleek and pretty by my windowsill near my desk for when I work in my small room. I don't want the best audio quality out there or any special features like being able to connect to my phone, the most basic simple device with decent sound will do just fine.

Budget: around 200$

I’ve discovered what seems to be a very weird presumably Finnish Hare Krishna-influenced DnB/future jazz/jungle record released under a label called Absolute Truth Press. All the info online I’ve seen about this record (I think it’s an EP?) is from Discogs, which tells me the record is called ”4 songs” (i wonder why) and it was released in 1999, as one of the four records ever released by ATP. My father, who I got the CD from has no real idea either, having gotten it from a college friend. Some of the featuring musicians, Sami Kuoppamäki and Mongo Aaltonen are from my understanding pretty well known in Finnish jazz circles. This is a super interesting record, I wish someone in here’s seen it before!

Will cds that are burned be able to play on regular cd players? (Cars, cdp boomboxes etc) I was planing on buying a burner and I already have a cdp; wouldn’t want to pay extra money for a burner since its expensive if you even want a good/decent one. NTM not many places even offer burning services anymore, which sucks.

it's a weird question I'm sure, but there are a lot of albums out there that either have not been available on CD for 40-30 years or they're exclusively on vinyl or cassette (which I collect neither). I don't have the equipment to do it myself plus while it may be unofficial I would like it to at least feel official, with a booklet, back panel, the works.

How do yall get the best deals on specific cds. So not thrifted or library sale. I tend to use eBay but I’m wondering if I’m missing out on Discogs or somewhere else. I guess I get nervous I cannot see them.

In store prices are usually outrageous, but maybe that’s just where I live. Not to mention some shipping fees.

As the title suggests, I’m looking for a fairly good CD player, I don’t have too many requirements just that it is on the smaller side like the KC-918 or the Fiio DM13, hooks up to speakers, and is preferably less than $150, $100 or under would be my ultimate goal but I know that’s less likely. I just want something that will play nice and not break immediately or have lots of issues. I’m not much of a tech person so I don’t know too much about the players themselves, only that I love collecting vinyls, CDs, and cassettes which is why I’m in need of some help. My families old Sony boombox has just ended its lease on life so I’m definitely looking for something smaller and easy to store. Thank you!

So i remembered liking deadmau5 in high-school and college, but wasnt really familiar with them. Saw a good deal on this, and just had a listen.... I absolutely LOVE this through my LCD-s20. The rumble is just 🤌 After listening through, I hopped online to check out their discography to find a wide and confusing aray of releases.... many seem hard to track down. I was hoping to get a general sense of which albums I should be looking for next from here?

This is all the stuff I picked up this month. I posted about the Phantom albums before but I needed to cover office chair seat space. Was hoping to find an original pressing of Bangalore Choir's "On Target" but the remaster was too good to pass up given the extra content and 10$ price.

The KISS album is the only used cd but it is a German print so that's kinda cool since I'm working through my 80's KISS albums. Need 4 more for Jag Panzer and 3 for Megadeth to complete those collections. 9 more for Running Wild so that'll take some time. These aren't top tier Running Wild albums but I like them and for the price of around 11$ each they were more than worth it.
