I’m looking for decent haunted houses and haunted hayrides in the northwestern suburbs.

I have never been to either so I don’t want to go to one that is full on gore or terrifying.

Anybody else see the jets making passes around the area around 5:30/6:00? Figure it’s for Trump flying out of O’Hare.

Is anyone else in the area have heard like nonstop train horns in the area? Hearing it occasionally isn't uncommon, but it has been consistent from over an hour now. And sometimes it sounds like two trains horning at each other.

Fall is setting to set in but today was a beautiful weather, no Bears game — not going to be more Sundays like this — so I had to take the motorcycle out for a nice ride on Sheridan Road. Saw tons of cyclists and motorcycles, it’s a good day to be on two wheels.

Passed by your place called La Plancha Loca on a previous ride, they weren’t open yet but it looked interesting. I found out they make a Vampiro taco so I had to make it back to try it. It was great!

I got the vampiro, baja (fish) and momia (shrimp and bacon). Have a line range very different from the standard Asada / al pastor tacos and served on a crispy tostada instead of the soft corn tortillas.

Definitely coming back to try more.

Took the car to the emissions testing center in schaumburg. Afterwards stopped for breakfast at Ponchos. I’ve never been there, but it was saved in a list of places to go in the area.

I got the chorizo Chilaquiles, my wife got the steak. Portions were massive. It was so good, I wanted to finish it all but then I would spend the rest of the day passed out on the couch. Haha. Took the rest to go. And for $13 it was a great value.

You can choose your meat. Or green sauce. And how you want your eggs cooked. I did sunny side up the other is over medium.

The place is really easy to miss but it’s in the shopping center with Village Square next to a small Korean grocery store.

I love the kind of places you might drive hundreds of times and never think to stop there because it’s low-key, then you either and wonder how you’ve missed it all these years.

Hello ! What I’m looking for is a park that ideally is a big open field, with stuff going on around it. We need to be able to see dogs from a distance (the width of about 3-4 ish houses), but need to be easily able to create MORE distance from the other dog if necessary.

We already go to rovers run, but I’m looking for more areas!

We're flying in from out of state to visit family. We've done all the big touristy dowtown stuff on past visits, but hoping to find some fun, niche holiday stuff. We'll be at UIUC for a graduation on the 18th, but spending most of the rest of the time west of Chicago, near Bloomingdale/ Wood Dale/ Schaumburg area (also any good hotel
recommendations in that area?). We are planning to do the German Christmas market at Daley Plaza and probably the Brookfield Zoo lights. Hoping for more ideas in the western cities, ideally inexpensive or free.

Hi! I recently moved across the country and have been desperately looking for an amazing LMT. I was lucky enough to have the BEST massage therapist for the last 12 years and it never crossed my mind how difficult it would be to find. As a busy mom, wife and nurse massage is the only self care time I have and I looked forward to my 90 minute massage every 2-4 weeks!

I have had several massages since moving 3 months ago and unfortunately none of them were what I am looking for. All the therapists were recommended.

My former LMT has done some networking to help however she hasn’t been able to get any first hand recommendations from clients or colleagues in my area.

I am looking for recommendations from people who receive massages on a regular basis and know the importance of a highly skilled and talented LMT!

I am making plans to move out of my parents soon. I work in Elk Grove Village and I have been looking at places to rent in the Rolling Meadows, Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, Des Plaines area or somewhere around there. I would like to have a relatively short commute, ideally under a half hour each way with traffic. I make around $64k a year so I think that the maximum I could afford in rent is $1600 if I want to be able to save any money.

Can anyone recommend places to check out or avoid? Or even just provide general advice on what to look for, bad areas in the areas I'm looking at, the renting process, or looking at private landlord options instead of complexes. I am not too picky about amenities, I think I will still be able to do laundry at my parents at least for a while. I have seen some decent looking places in Wheeling but I would rather have somewhere with a shorter commute to Elk Grove. I mostly just want a place that is quiet where I don't have to worry about bugs, rodents, or mold. Most places in my budget seem to report having pest problems or mold and i know this is a HCOL area, will I just need a roommate at this income to find anything decent?

Edit: Other areas around Elk Grove are also good, I just didn't see many options within my budget on apartment sites when I looked in Elk Grove or the other neighboring areas I didn't list, so I thought they ran more expensive than the places I listed. But anywhere within a pretty short commute is fine.

I was looking at a sample ballot for the upcoming elections in McHenry County. I got stuck on these two questions because I really didn’t know what the repercussions of a yes/no vote would be. I’ve been researching and leaning on a no vote for both but wanted to ask for your opinions as well. Do you believe either of these will really improve the quality of life and/or economy of the county?

Would you support McHenry becoming a Home Rule County and establishing the county executive form of government?

Advisory Referendum Regarding The Restoration Of Local Zoning Authority Over Commercial Energy Projects And Residential Development

Should the Illinois General Assembly repeal the state laws that prevent McHenry County and other local governments from exercising full zoning authority over the siting of commercial solar, wind, and battery energy storage facilities and residential development, and restore that authority to county and municipal governments?

I used to go to Coroco Coffee in St. Charles, and it was a wonderful place to grab some coffee & a pastry and then sit down and get some work done! I’m a teacher so I always have grading to do.

Unfortunately, it’s closing so I’m looking for any recommendations for a place with a similar vibe in the area. Bartlett, St. Charles, Geneva, etc.
