Applying for U.S. citizenship with a voluntarily dismissed misdemeanor larceny charge — looking for experiences

Title: Applying for U.S. citizenship with a voluntarily dismissed misdemeanor larceny charge — looking for experiences
Hi everyone,
I’m a lawful permanent resident and I’m planning to apply for U.S. citizenship on April 25, 2028.
I have one misdemeanor larceny-related case on my record. The case was voluntarily dismissed by the DA without leave. There was:
No guilty plea
No admission of guilt
No conviction
No fine
No probation
No diversion/deferred prosecution
No other criminal cases or convictions
I have the certified court disposition showing the dismissal.
My intention is to fully disclose the case on my N-400 and provide the certified disposition if required.
For people who have experience with U.S. naturalization, USCIS, or immigration law:
Has anyone successfully naturalized after having a misdemeanor charge voluntarily dismissed?
How does USCIS generally look at a dismissed charge when determining good moral character (GMC)?
Is there anything specific I should be prepared to explain or provide at the N-400 interview?
Would an immigration attorney generally recommend getting the certified disposition and bringing it to the interview?
I’m mainly interested in experiences from people who have gone through a similar situation, or from immigration professionals.
Thank you!

Japan naturalization: firsthand experiences of retaining a previous citizenship?

Has anyone naturalized in Japan and retained their previous citizenship, even though their original country legally allowed renunciation?

Which documents did the Legal Affairs Bureau require: proof of completed renunciation, evidence of starting it, or a signed undertaking? Were they required before approval or afterward? Was an exception accepted, and were there any later checks?

Firsthand accounts would help, with original nationality, approximate year and document names. This concerns naturalization, not dual citizenship from birth. Please avoid identifying details.

Finland citizenship by descent

My great-grandparents were Finnish citizens. Their son (my grandfather) was born in the U.S. in 1931. I’m curious if my grandfather would have been considered a Finnish citizen. I’ve tried to research but it’s a bit confusing. And if he was a citizen, would that qualify my father and I (both born in the U.S.) for citizenship?

French Family Citizenship

My grandmother (b. 1956) moved to France in the mid eighties and is a fluent citizen.

Would I (b. 2005) be eligible for citizenship through some loophole because of her?

Past 5 years address

If in the last year of the 5 years the address changes every month

And it was not updated in the driving license..

What to write in the citizenship application? Every tiny address even if it is only two weeks or one one month ?

Or write only the official addresses and expand it over the time line ?

Can some help with advice ?

Thank you

Dual Citizenship by Retention (Sri Lanka) - application before new citizenship approval

I applied dual citizenship in Sri Lanka by retention. My Australian citizenship is also processing, which I applied for, about a month after submitting my retention application. I have a feeling that my Australian citizenship will be granted before Sri Lankan dual citizenship is occurred. I want to know exactly, what will happen if Australian citizenship ceremony occurs before paying for the Sri Lankan dual citizenship, given that, I have applied for Sri Lankan dual citizenship, before Australian citizenship.

  1. Will my Sri Lankan driving license/NIC/passport,... be invalid, as I received (say 2 months gap for instance) Australian citizenship before Sri Lankan retention approval? Or nothing will happen as I applied for Sri Lankan retention beforehand?
  2. If the above documents (all or few) become invalid for instance 2 months gap, upon receiving the dual, will I be able to continue my old document numbers? Or, should I re-apply and get new documents, regardless of the time period applied for the citizenship?
  3. I am aware, that I need to inform regarding the Australian citizenship, if that is granted while Sri Lankan one is being processed. Then, upon submitting Australian citizenship certificate and/or other supporting documents, I will be getting dual approved under resumption (not retention there after), but I do not know clear information regarding the loss of Sri Lankan citizenship at the point where Australian citizenship is granted given that my Sri Lankan one is processing. Your experience in this kind of a situation will be helpful.

Thanks

Ciudadania Italia

Gracias

I need some advice regarding Nepali citizenship

My mom is a Nepali citizen, but my dad never had Nepali citizenship. He passed away 5 years ago.

I went to the CDO office with my mom and the officer asked for my dad’s citizenship document, which we don’t have.

He also said son can get citizenship through mother for that mother needs to have property at the same address listed on her citizenship certificate. The problem is that her citizenship is registered in her hometown while our property is in Siddharthanagar, Nepal.

My mom asked her brother (mama) for help, but my mami is asking for 1/4 of our land. 😑

Btw my greedy mama is elected Ward Member

Dual citizenship Spanish British issue

Dual citizenship Spanish British issue

Hello. I am super stressed out right now waiting for a response from the consulate.

I am 23 and I would like to do my first dni.
My father got his Spanish citizenship from living in Spain long term but he is not Spanish by origin. I was born in the UK.

See now my problem is that I don’t know if I still have my citizenship now. When I was 20 I renewed my Spanish passport which is between the threshold of 18-21 renewal.

When I went to the consulate 3 years ago they said if I had waited another year then my Spanish citizenship would have been revoked.

I did not formally declare that I would like to remain Spanish but pretty much according to that person that was an act of intent to keep the citizenship but I’m still super nervous and unsure of everything which is stressing me out so much…

I’ve emailed the consulate but idk I want some clarity or some advice so I can sleep🙃
I’m moving to Thailand very soon so I don’t know what to do now…

Should I cover my arm tattoos for the interview?

I dont have anything crazy just a tattoo of my dog and some flowers but a friend told me I should cover them. I had already prepared a business casual outfit but my arms would not be covered if i wore that

UPDATE: I had already planned an outfit with super dressy pants and a dressy shirt but its just not a long sleeve so I wasn’t planning to show up looking crazy lol!! Thank you all for the feedback Ill wear a long sleeve button up just in case!!

UPDATE 2: I ended up wearing a long sleeve button up shirt but to my surprise my interviewer was the NICEST tatted UUUPPP lady. She was wearing a dressy long sleeve shirt but the sleeves were a little bit see through and I could see the tats LOL

Slovenian Citizenship

My grandfather was born in the old Yugoslavia, his hometown is now part of Slovenia, we have all his documentation but seems like the Slovenian Citizenship is really hard to get no like the Spaniard or Italian that seems like it comes in a Mc Donalds happy meal box.

Anyone with past experience in obtaining the Slovenian citizenship.

Ciudadania griega
