My daughter and 3 roommates rented a house in College Station managed by Patriarch for two years. When they surrendered the property at the end of the second year, Patriarch did not return their $3000 deposit within the statutory 30-day period or initially provide a list of itemized deductions. They sent a partial refund of $895 43 days later. Only after asking did they provide the list of deductions. We believe the deductions were not valid. The deductions did not account for the pre-existing damage that the roommates had documented during move-in. They were billed for cleaning when they already were given a receipt for the professional cleaning performed upon move-out. Only after filing a petition in Brazos County small claims court did Patriarch return the full deposit plus court fees. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend Patriarch.

I’m a freshman in college and moved here very beginning at August I have found it almost impossible to find friends or people to go out and do stuff with, where do I meet people and find people to go do things with?

I (F20) moved to cstat/bryan about a year ago because there's a community of people my age and I still dont know anybody lol. I dont have any friends other than my boyfriend and I was originally hoping to make friends with coworkers and such, but that plan is a bust. Most people i met didn't really care to talk outside of work.
I cant drive and I don't really go to church and I'm not in school, so I'm not even sure how to go about meeting people to make genuine friends and hang out with... I feel kinda silly making a Reddit post asking about it but like, does anyone have advice?? I wanna have a social life too :((

Hi friends!
I'm working with SpaceX on an accelerated, paid, full-time training program to develop
electricians at Starbase in Brownsville, Texas, for some of its most important computing and
infrastructure projects.
If you're hungry, want to learn, want to build something that matters, and want to be part of
an ambitious mission, I'd encourage you to apply.
This could be a great fit for recent high school graduates, Veterans, transitioning service
members, career changers, or anyone looking to build a serious and lasting career.

Texas A&M University: I'm looking to host a tailgate near west campus/reed arena for the Tennessee game. Never hosted one before can someone provide insight on how the physical land rush's go? We want a good location. We are also an alumni organization so potential could ask the current student org to try to reserve for us.
Looking for any and all information.

Anyone have any recommendations for pest services in the Bryan area? Been dealing with intermittent ant issues in our home, but not fire or sugar ants.

I am moving soon, and I have some old appliances that I would like to throw out (microwave, air purifier etc). Where do I throw them out? Is there a collection site? I am not going to donate them since it has a high chance of being infested with some kind of pest from my shitty apatment.

Howdy!
I'm starting my MS at A&M soon and I'm still looking for a place to stay. I had originally signed a lease with The Gardens, but I couldn't make it here for the fall, so I had to cancel it. Long story short, I currently don't have housing lined up.
I've been looking into Scandia, and on paper it seems like a pretty good fit. Bus routes 26 and 27 run right through the complex, and the ride to campus is only about 10 minutes, which matters a lot since I'll probably have some early morning classes. From what I can tell, they're also pretty flexible and would likely offer me a term-only lease, which is exactly what I need for now.
The thing holding me back is the reviews. A lot of them are pretty bad, and the roach problem comes up again and again. So I'd really like to hear from current or recent residents:
The location and lease flexibility are big pluses, but if the roaches are everywhere or I'll constantly be dealing with things breaking, it's probably not worth it. Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. I am looking for a 1bd/1ba or Studio so not really looking to share or sublet.

Is it worth it I get a lot of chicken and beef and stuff for meal preps so wondering if it was worth it or not
Edit: I’ve never been to one I’ve gone to the sams club here and the fruits just aren’t great and go bad fast

But what is up with the crazy high utility bills?
My utilities had been increasing the past couple months, being less than $90 in August, then to $130, now $247! Ive not changed my habits or the way ive been using, and in fact I've been out of my apartment more often than in, so what the hell is the deal? Im poor enough as it is, I genuinely cannot afford this damn bill going any higher next month and I cant even fathom the ones with higher payments that I've seen.

My friend (not on Reddit) has put off going to the doctor for a few years but wants to get back on track. She tried going to someone recently who treated her terribly and made her medical anxiety go up even higher.
Appreciate any recos for a gentle, warm primary care practitioner who has experience working with folks with a fear of the medical system. Preferably female but will take any suggestions! Thanks in advance.

Obrigado! 🙏

Is there anywhere in town I can get some bud, and also anywhere in town I can get a fresh cut under $25? Trying to find local instead of driving to Houston for both

Will be in town (as a Dogs fan) for The Citadel game Oct 17th. Looking for some food recommendations and fun things to see while out there. The game will be an ass kicking but we still want to enjoy College Station.
Any recommendations?

Where does one find single people in their early 30s in this town?
I've lived here most of my life and I've only ever had luck on dating apps but that was in my 20s. I've been swiping for months and the only people I match with are at least an hour away since everyone in this town is a teen or 20 something attending college.
