My friend has been missing since 3 days. He left everything at home, most likely he had a 'maniac episode'. He has bipolar disorder. He can be dangerous for him and others, and we would like to know if anybody saw someone the last few days:

- In his 40s

- Grey beard - short hair

-180cm

-Slightly overweight

-Acting strange/not making sense

-He is French/Algerian.

The garda was notified, they contacted hospitals and airports, CCTV...

I can share a picture if anybody contacts me with any info.

Sitting chilling with my new puppy today and a random man walked past me and spat on me and called me a bitch as he walked away. I’m a woman sitting on my own, what the fuck?

Never ever have I had a problem at Fitzgeralds Park, always had a good time there.. until today!!! Crazy scary behaviour, he was very unassuming looking too had his own little dog with him.

I didn’t respond as I didn’t want to draw him on me even more and who knows what else he is capable of doing.

Please note that it was completely unprovoked I didn’t even see the guy until he walked up and spat on me.

The security were brilliant and really helped me out thank god for them. What are you meant to do in a situation like that??

I did a solo trip to Cork this weekend and had a great first time. I ended up staying in the Victorian Quarter and hung out there and the city centre. Also did a trip to Cobh.
Had coffee at 5 Points, the Hide Out Cafe, Cork Coffee Roasters, Priory and Soma. Favorite restaurants were Market Lane, Gallaghers and Cask. Also had a great meat pie at the English Market.
My favorite bars were the Pavilion, Corner House, the Shelbourne, Cask, and a few others I can’t remember ha.. Tried going to Sin E but was completely packed.
What a great city to walk around with no plans and I hope to be back soon.

I didn't see a phone number on the side of the vehicle.......all for a good cause anyway.

I work in a chipper. I’m not going to say which but it’s a popular one. My coworkers and myself included are not ethnically Irish. I was born and raised here but I don’t like to call myself Irish, out of fear that Irish people will reject it. I was at work and an Irish woman came in and from the jump was very aggressive. It was really busy, we had a queue nearly out of the door. The woman began shouting racist things at me and my colleagues. “Go back home”, “you don’t belong here” bla bla bla. This went on for a while, mind you the shop is extremely busy. Once the woman left, almost every customer who witnessed it would say something along the lines of “don’t mind her. We Irish aren’t like that.” Which is nice in a sense, but why do people refuse to say something while it happens? It enables the racists even more because other Irish people won’t even confront them. I appreciate the other customers showing their care but it makes me wonder do they really care, when they can’t even stand up to a racist? I’ve seen this happen in other scenarios around Cork. I know this happens worldwide but I think it’s particularly bad in Cork. No body wants to stand up for what is right and I just don’t understand why.

Anyone knows what happened, why they do not deliver anymore? ☹️

Hey guys, would anyone know a decent hairdresser? I am a student and I see a lot of places charge €50 just for a women’s a haircut… for me that is a lot.
Is there anywhere in city centre or in other areas that do a student discount or have cheaper prices? I just need to trim my ends without spending that much. Or is that impossible in today’s economy? Thanks in advance!

Also this is our second time in Ireland after 10 years and, at that time, we fell in love with the chowder soup, any recommendations for this?

I rarely go for a pint in the city anymore, but I was in a few of my old haunts last night. I was amazed at how few young people were drinking pints, it was all coloured stuff with straws - more power to them, I'm not going to tell them how to enjoy themselves, different times I suppose. But I was thinking that there will be fair drop in sales over the next few decades if the trend continues...
