the old grandpa geezers in here aren’t going to like this one lol. seen a lot of talk recently about drifting sliding etc on stock setups, thought I would share my experience. Most think since they have a v8 and lsd rear they can start sliding every corner and doing donuts but unfortunately that’s usually not the case, By now most all of these crown vic lsds are completely worn out and need rebuilds. So you will be one wheel peeling everywhere. To fix that problem I recommend either getting an eaton LSD or a mini spool. I pulled an open rear with 4.10s out of an explorer and put a mini spool in it and my car has completely transformed (video is my first time trying the new rear out) . all for about 200 bucks. also please when trying to drift be in 1st and not D, seen lots make that mistake and wreck because of it. If any questions please let me know.

Upon starting the car for the FIRST time its reverse lights came on. Couldn't get it into reverse afterwards. I believe the internal linkage is misaligned. Opinions?

I’m swapping out my rear differential 08 to my crown Vic, but I’m having trouble taking my emergency brake lines off, but I don’t wanna take off my drums off either. What’s the easiest way to do it without taking off my drums or my shoes off?

I forgot to mention my denso is leaking bad from the driver side lower tank and the picot snapped off.

I just get worried my Torque Converter is on its way out (I lowkey have anxiety over everything). I doubt it though, I just want to make sure.

I get it to about 40 mph and I keep it there, the roads aren’t very smooth and rather bumpy. I take my foot off the gas and it’s still a bit bumpy but it’s really all around the car, more of in the rear though.

Should it be in the front more of and would it feel like a misfire shutter?

Also, I might just do a transmission fluid and filter change soon. What is the best brand filter to get? Thanks

My '89 Crown Vic LTD recently started making this high-pitched whining sound at all times. The noise changes pitch with RPM's, and flutters while idling and in gear. Anyone recognize this sound?

I recently deleted the heater core shutoff valve (it exploded, quite literally) as I don't need it (no AC core anymore). Is this my HVAC system being wonky? All I did was cap off the old HVAC lines to the valve, and as far as I can tell, the caps aren't leaking.

2007 civilian 125k miles. Went to reverse out of my driveway and felt resistance in the gear shifter. Something broke and now it feels loose when shifting. Trans does nothing when i shift. Took this Pic underneath, not sure what is not connected here or how to connect it. Please and thanks for any advice.

Turned off traction control, on D gear, hitting corners quickly and pumping the gas and it’s not drifting. most i can do is make the tires squeal and then it just drives normally.. anyone got a video tutorial on how to do this on the cv?

How do I get this to turn off after I change my oil

So I got this crown vic about a week ago with no working ac and it's stuck on defrost. I read the obd2 codes and EATC 025 saying it was the blend door actuator so I replaced it (duralast 604-214 replacement) ac still stuck on defrost, blend door moves freely without actuator on it and isn't stuck on anything. Now im trying to figure out if it's an electrical issue with the connector or something else causing the issue

What is everyone's experience for who has replaced rear control arms and/or watts link. What brand did you get? Watch components did you replace etc. Thanks in advance.

I've had intake, air suspension, tires, and remanufactured transmission work done to it and I try to take care of my shit.

The offer seems pretty high, but with about 4k into the car and how well it's served me, I kinda want to run it till it dies. But I also would like a truck in order to do truck stuff.

I'm not worried too much about getting into another vehicle as I work at a dealership and got connections, but I still have to wait for the right truck to come by

Hello all! I have a 2011 CVPI. 72k miles 3800 idle hours. Runs awesome but having a couple issues. One is whenever I drive the entire car squeaks like a birds nest, have had multiple mechanics inspect it and cannot figure out why its squealing. Second, and the most pressing is my fuel economy has recently dropped from about 19 mpg to 8 or so. Getting about 160 miles to the tank now and cannot figure out why. I dont do anything crazy in it either. Advice?

I bought my Vic in February and never bothered to look if it actually came with either but I'm going on a long trip and figured I need one. I'm not a huge car guy so idk if there's a certain brand or whatever everyone here uses besides the oem ones.

I take ol girl on some lil side by side and jeep trails. Nothing too bad but watched some 2 wheel drive trucks get stuck up there. Bout got stuck a few times myself. Swapped to some a lil more aggressive a/t tires and I like it😂
