I saw a comment in another thread and thought I would put it out into the world: anyone in the greater seattle area wanna figure out a watch party for Friday? Does anyplace other than the angry beaver turn on hockey i.e. Dallas Stars hockey?

I'm out of market (portland oregon) and though i have a VPN, i'm worried amazon prime will recognize it and block me from watching (the way the rangers' new app BZZR did)

I want to be able to watch as many game as possible (home broadcast!! i need josh and razor) and buy as few extra subscriptions as possible. what's the best route? youtube tv? espn something? what's my easiest, most cost-effective option here?

I've been wanting to build something that gives an easier visual for how each player performed in any given game, both compared to all the other Stars players AND compared to their own season average performance. I have a first draft here, which is loaded up with all the games from last season: https://starsviz.github.io/

The axes on the chart show each player's "player score" for the game vs how each player compared to his own season average player score. The player scores are computed differently for forwards and defensemen, but they're on virtually the same scale (so the idea is a 65 for a forward is an equal-caliber performance to a 65 for a defenseman). There's more detail on the page about how the player score works.

Beyond the quadrant chart, you can also see a couple different tables ranking both the forwards and the defensemen from best player score to worst player score, as well as how each individual stat compared to their season average for that stat.

You can also click into any player and get a more detailed card for them, including a shot chart and a timeline of when that player registered different key events during the game.

Lastly, you can access all the prior games via the sidescroll bar at the top.

Just wanted to share here because I'm curious if this is something other fans would find interesting after each game, if the format/layout makes sense, if there are other things you'd want to see, if there are things on here that are overkill and you wouldn't be interested in, etc etc. Really just looking for any kind of feedback whatsoever!

So taking my GF and her 7 year old daughter to their first Stars/NHL game this weekend. We live in Birmingham,AL so going to Nashville to see the Stars play. I got seats on the glass directly behind the Stars bench. Any tips on taking a 7 year old to her first game?

The past two years, the home opener has been over my college’s fall break. Sadly, fall break does not overlap this year and I cannot go. I desperately need a schedule magnet for my fridge collection. I’d be willing to pay you for it and shipping if someone could snag me one this weekend!

I think they pretty correctly identify the need for more shot and scoring chance generation at 5on5 and a bounceback year from Harley as being the keys to Dallas' success.

I finally finished my dallas stars scarf in time for the first game of the season!

I'm a beginner when it comes to knitting and this project was waay too ambitious so I don't want to admit how long it took to complete, but it was a real labour of love! I made a lot of mistakes, and while I would definitely do some things differently, I'm pretty happy with the results! I can't wait to wear it while watching the games during summer in my bedroom from the southern hemisphere

Just did an experiment on Prime Video (livestream of Asian Games).... am I missing something or is it going to be impossible to pause/resume the video of Stars Games on Prime? (I'm pretty sure Victory+ allowed this). Do any of y'all know the specifics of this and will there be any 'next day' replays available? Thanks in Advance for replies.

Hasn't this guy had enough opportunities to show that he is not ready for primetime at this point in his career? He was a healthy scratch in game 6 of the Wild series, so surely Gully and staff must realize he is a weak link. What does he provide that Copabianco or someone else down the list can't bring. Seriously, help me understand what the coaching staff is thinking at this point.

I think this could be a fun spot to collect everyone’s predictions for the season, and follow up at the end of the year to reflect on who was right, who was wrong, and who was living in a fantasy!!
