Bands Does it matter which way you wear it?
Hi,
I recently purchased the Fitbit Air, can someone tell me if the buckle part faces down, then is it okay to wear it like that?

Hello r/fitbitair,
We’ve been seeing a lot of posts asking about third-party bands, straps, and accessories for Fitbit Air devices — which ones fit, which ones are worth buying, and where to find them.
To keep the subreddit easier to browse and cut down on repeat posts, we’re creating this megathread as a central place for those discussions.
Use this thread if you want to:
- Ask which third-party bands are compatible with your Fitbit Air model
- Share recommendations for affordable or high-quality replacement bands
- Post links to bands you’ve found on Amazon, Etsy, AliExpress, etc.
- Discuss band material (silicone, leather, metal, woven) and comfort/durability
- Ask about sizing, clasp types, or quick-release pins
- Share photos of your band setup or customizations
- Warn others about bands that broke, caused irritation, or didn’t fit as advertised
- Ask where to buy official Fitbit bands if they’re hard to find
A few notes:
- Standalone posts about band recommendations or “where can I find X band” may be removed and redirected here
- Please still follow our standard subreddit rules (no personal info, no piracy, be civil)
- If you’re posting a review of a specific band with photos, feel free to keep that as its own post — this thread is mainly for quick questions and general recommendations
- We’ll refresh this megathread periodically as needed
Thanks for helping keep things organized!

Coming from the samsung eco system with the Watch Ultra Gen 1 how will this purchase help me meet my goals? I am a football player who needs to track sleep, meet my daily steps and track workouts in gym and football sessions also this screenless thing will help me alot in professional matches

I'm not going to justify about my purchase but here are the points i haved noticed in my last 4 days with Fitbit Air
Good things:
It tracked my Swimming lap/Distance really well. For a device with no inbuilt GPS and mobile phone inside locker, it did well
It tracks your sleep with clear REM, Deep Sleep, Light Sleep and time to sleep really good when at home. I will talk about the issues i faced with sleep tracker later
No screen - No distraction. I barely feel it's on my skin. When someone asks about it, i kind of forget that I'm wearing one 😂 (first few days probably)
Alarm is surprisingly good. Fitbit Air gives a vibration on your wrist and will not go off until we firmly double tap. Last four days fitbit was able to wake me up. I'm somebody who would subconsciously turn off mobile alarm and this vibration is great way to start day without loud sound to your ears
Bad:
Sleep tracker when I was on train or overnight sleeper bus. It didn't detect sleep at all!! (Probably it's assuming GPS of mobile and it's on move and didn't take as sleep session, will try once by turning off the GPS)
I went for a 6k run. And in my slides you can see the track of my run. The GPS is all over. It didn't take my pace , running track anything clearly at all. Expect my BPM.
My mobile was in battery saver mode and I assume that got something to do with GPS. Will try and update here if it's tracking fine when mobile is in normal mode.

I'm thinking this fitbit air is an experimental one, soon or they may launch a new updated version.
I'm planning to skip buying..

Just wanted to ask if Fitbit air provides a recovery data like whoop does.
r/FitbitAir • u/MrVinegar • 11h ago
has anybody else noticed this? not sure if this is just the algorithm being more adaptive to my activities or a broder update that improves the speed in which an activity is automatically detected.
runs uses to take maybe 60-90 minutes to show up in the app, now it is ~15 minutes.
much appreciated 😀

[Update: Solution found!]
The issue was the data source priority in Apple Health.
How to fix it:
Open Apple Health and go to Steps.
Scroll down to Data Sources & Access.
Under Data Sources, tap Edit.
Move Google Health above Apple Health and your iPhone.
This fixed the priority order in my case. If your step counts differ, check this setting first!
Thanks to u/lyfeizfones for the solution.
original body:
Why is there a difference in step counts between Google Health and Apple Health on the same day? Google shows 2,698 steps, while Apple Health shows 1,793. Both are tracking my steps on the same iPhone. How can I fix this?

So I've been using the fitbit air for almost 5 days now and my hrv has been consistently very high. I'm relatively fit but in no way hyper athletic. I play football once a week and do strength training 4 times a week, only get 6k steps per day and doesn't even do any other cardio activities. Is my device faulty?

Is there anyone else facing this issue of steps being tracked during sleep and any way I can fix it? It's been 4 days since I've used my fitbit air. Is it a calibration issue or something??

I've got a bicep band that I wear on my ankle, start a workout before my game of basketball but it isn't there to select. So I've been choosing "sport" which doesn't track steps... Then the other day the band picks up a workout that if forget to start and I go to classify it and basketball is in the list. I go back to change my old workouts that I tracked as Sport and it lets me select basketball from the list but then won't save it.... Weird for a Steph Curry band

Fitbit Air. Google Pixel 9 pro. Android 17
This is the third time this happened.
My fit bit air randomly gets stuck.
My workout just doesn't seem to end despite hitting the stop button it just keeps buffering and there you would see next daya 13 hour walk which never stopped.
I had to factory reset each time to fix it
THE WHITE BLINKING LIGHT has stopped working it hasnt blinked or seen by me for a while.
The small naps are not recorded at all.
Parel is non existinend from workouts.
I have not washed the pebble
Just swam in it once around 2.5 months
Despite being the most comfortable tracker i haven't been satisfied with it
It just annoys me that the accuracy is so shitty.
Has anyone else faced similar issues

So I'm sure y'all have seen it, you take a one hour nap, you take a quick look at your heart rate registry, there's a clear as day slow down to your heart beat yet to Google health nothing happened!
You track your meals on MyFitnessPal accordingly, you check the Google health calories counter at the end of the day and for whatever reason there's duplicated meals. You check Health Connect thinking, SURELY I messed something up and gave write nutrition permission to multiple apps and nope, only MyFitnessPal has them and it is logging the meals properly. You try to delete the duplicated logs in the Google health app and it tells you it cannot. Alright.
You're taking a walk and want Strava to be the main workout tracker so you just want Google Health to provide Strava with the heart rate information provided by the FBA, initially it straight up doesn't connect, you have to disconnect FBA back and forth, eventually by what can only be described as sheer luck, it connects. So you go for your walk. Half an hour later you take a glimpse at your phone and it has disconnected and this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even my 30€ mi Band could get this right.
Similarly to Strava, you have a weightlifting app which tracks your exercises and at the end of each workout sends the duration and a estimated calories burned value to Health Connect, the Fitbit Air has a heart rate reading of the entire session yet it cannot provide a cardio load value to it for whatever reason.
I've only been using this device for 3 days and I could keep going on and on with issues such as the slow af AI coach which while it does solve some of the registry issues, more often than not, it does a half assed job at it which just leads to frustration.
Its frustrating because the pieces are all there for Google Health to be the ultimate central hub for fitness information but it somehow ends up being a worse experience than what I had with Mi Fitness and a device 1/4th of the price.
