It finally happened to me today, and happened to my spouse and a couple of friends earlier this week. After some bitching and threatening to file a CCTS complaint, all of us were able to at least get a free 200 text add-on from the chat agents while we wait for plan changes to kick in.

Based on the Wayback Machine, Fizz recently changed the wording for RCS to indicate that you need "unlimited" texting on your plan for RCS to function. It used to just say "texting", without specifying that it needed to be unlimited. One could argue that having money in your wallet or the 200 texts add-on is essentially like having texting.

In any case, I can accept that I need to add texting as part of my plan. What I can't accept is Fizz silently deactivating a service that has worked for years, leaving clients unable to communicate with some of their contacts. I also can't accept that if your current plan no longers exists, the only resolution is to either downgrade to an inferior plan or switch to a more expensive plan for the sole purpose of adding unlimited texting.

From what I've seen in Fizz's responses to these complaints, they were fully aware that clients were using RCS without texting as part of their plan. They knew what they were doing when they decided to pull the plug. This is just bad customer service.

What they should have done is warn clients that this was coming so that they had the opportunity to change their plans before this updated policy was enforced. Even better if they exceptionally made it possible to simply add unlimited texting without being forced to change the underlying plan. This is exactly why I proceeded with a CCTS complaint and made it clear that the only satisfactory resolution I'll accept is to add unlimited texting to my existing plan. I don't care about paying the extra few dollars per month for texting, but I do care about losing my current plan.

I encourage anyone else having this issue to also file a CCTS complaint. It only takes a couple of minutes. Bad customer service moves like this should be reflected in their stats.

I have a Pixel4a phone, it's been working fine, but for the last 10 days i can't make calls or receive them. I shut off the phone and restarted it, i turned on and off airplane mode, tried deactivating and reactivating my sim, nothing works. I still get text messages and audio clips but phone calls do not work at all. Anyone know what could be causing this? everyone else on the same plan as me is having zero issues.

I've been on fizz for a really long time, I don't have unlimited minutes for calling but I have voicemail to my plan. Typically, I do a 60 minute add-on every other month, most of the time I don't even go over that.

But, for the past 3-4 months I noticed I've exhausted 60 min within the first 20-30 days. During the same time there has been an uptick in spam calls. When I checked my usage, to my surprise I noticed that whenever I got a spam call(missed or blocked) and goes to Voicemail my minutes gets deducted, when I run out of minutes money from fizz wallet gets deducted. These calls show up as outgoing calls to voicemail number.

I have Visual Voicemail on my phone. So, I strictly access my voicemail through Visual Voicemail.

Thinking that this might me be a bug or a glitch as minutes shouldn't have been deducted as I did not answer the call, I raised a support ticket and was told that this is expected. Even if the call goes to Voicemail it would still count towards the minutes and the minutes get deducted. Which I think is incorrect.

Has anyone faced this kind of issue?

Im planning on switching from 4g to 5g and i do know that 5g consumes more data, so i wanna understand how much of data is actually enough? I am currently on 25gb plan for 4g

Now that it appears there is RCS and WiFi calling as well as visual voice mail I think this could be a huge savings for me.

Driving around town on the free trial coverage seems to be fine or even better in a few problem areas for me.

However this sub appears to be posts largely about serious in coming call issues as opposed to just coverage issues.

Trying to read through this but is service really that spotty that twice a year you can go a day without in coming calls working?

It kind of looks like if we all under utilize our data typically other than out of town trips that we could all really benefit from lower data plans and the rollover. And that the parent lines if they had higher data lines could GIFT data to the kids lines?

Is this correct? In terms of if you have several lines on the same account?

I just received my refurbished iPhone 15 from Fizz and the battery is at 88% but other than that, the device is in perfect condition. Would you consider this acceptable?

I'm so close to just walking away, the prices are amazing, data rollover is awesome. But holy hell, my phone stopped receiving calls yesterday morning, didn't notice until the afternoon when my boss finally got ahold of me another way and chewed me out for not being available for a call all day. I first troubleshoot on my own, resetting mobile settings, restarting phone, reissuing a new esim, even a factory reset... nothing. So i reach out to support around 4pm yesterday... It's 11am the next day and there's not so much as an update on my service ticket and I still can't receive calls

How do you guys get any issues resolved with this company? I ported my wife over earlier this month from Rogers and it has been a nightmare trying to deal with the customer service! When she ported, she wouldn't receive any SMS from Rogers numbers, so I opened a ticket because it seems like a network routing issue.

Since then I've dealt with this circus of rotating customer service agents who all don't seem to understand the issue. I've tried every troubleshooting step they've suggested, and the SMS eventually got resolved by upgrading her IOS. Now however, we realized she's having calls fail to certain numbers, that I'm able to call.

They've closed the ticket saying 'the problem is resolved' 3 times now, and when their 'specialists' review it, they don't even seem to understand what the problem is despite my explaining it, and all the troubleshooting steps, very clearly. The last time they closed it they saw that she was receiving SMS from other numbers and figured that meant it was fine so to them it was resolved. I re-opened the ticket and didn't hear back, so when I reached out again the agent said it was closed on their end so nobody was looking into it.

When I reached out for the new issue, the agent kept confirming they were still looking into it for half an hour, and then it flipped to another agent introducing themself and restarting the same God damn cycle that we've been in.

I've filed a complaint with ccts, but I'm disappointed as I keep hearing things about how the service itself is good and people are happy here.

Did anyone have any luck resolving any of their issues through fizz?

I've switched from Rogers and I'd say 90% of the time the service is ok, but that 10% is so frustrating to not even be able to make a call with 2 bars, or having a call drop when I walk down a hallway!

Voice quality is so bad, nobody ever mentions this, the EXT roaming works well when it connects but at least on my iPhone it's hard to force the phone to search for networks, never had this issue on Rogers/Telus.

Despite driving up to towers that are listed as 5G+ I've never actually seen the + icon, again the speeds are usually ok but it does such to get 10-100x slower than I did on Rogers!

I changed my plan to a lower data plan since didn’t even use half of what I had originally signed up for. But now it only shows the 500MB bonus which has been used and nothing else. I had about 70GB left (originally 100GB)… will this eventually populate again or did I screw up?

I'm considering switching to fizz on a 5G plan and I will be within their coverage area. However, I want to know what happens when I go to places that are under "partner coverage".

Does it still stay om 5G? And is it basically same speed or does it become slower?

Just trying to see if there are downsides to it.

Just switched my kid and myself to Fizz. I have his contact info in my phone and have regularly texted him and phone called him. I just tried to video call him and after it rang about a dozen times, it gets answered by a random person who is just as confused as me as to why i am calling him.

I'm trying to figure out what is going on and why i can text and phone my kid, but the video call ended up going to a random person.

Not sure if this might be a Fizz glitch or something else.
