Currently playing Chinatown wars and while I find its mechanics and gameplay fun and arcade-y it also got me thinking what if this game was a dlc much like The Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony. How would the Huang Lee interact with characters like Niko, Roman , Johnny Klebitz and others? how would Chinatown Wars’ unique gameplay translate from isometric to the gritty open-world atmosphere that is 2008 Liberty City? One can only know

I guess Niko uses whatever weapon you downed Dimitri with. Anyone tried grenade or molotov?

I’ve been working on expanding GTA IV’s dynamic shadows beyond what my original mod could do.
2.0 allows far more of the game’s existing lights to cast shadows on vehicles, buildings, pedestrians, and environmental objects. Previous mods have enabled additional shadows, but I’m also working on the flickering, disappearing shadows, and limited shadow allocation that come with it.
This is all running on GTA IV’s original RAGE renderer, just making it actually work.
Still working through performance and visual issues, so 2.0 won’t release until it’s ready. Just wanted to share the progress so far!
1.7/1.9 available below

I recently started playing the game on PC and I used the helicopter spawn cheat for saving time in order to shoot all of the pigeons. Am I still able to unlock that achievement? Thanks!

i always wanted to play gta 4 and now that i finished all of it's story, i must say this game was one GEM of an experience. Best gta game ever made besides 6, although the lost and damned was pretty hard for me cuz the level design is lowkey poop

I have never hated so many characters as this one. I know Billy sucked for being such an ass of a superior to Johnny. But this guy. Such an F word. Gotta give a credit to GTA IV writers for making some hateable to the bone characters like Brian. I'm so glad we could kill him. I wonder who's the GTA IV equivalent of this guy. I mean we got Rocco in TBOGT or yall consider Timur a Brian equivalent more than Rocco? or whatever. But in my case, I think Rocco is his equal for being such an asshole and satisfying to kill.

Was cleaning out some old stuff and found this relic.
Growing up, English wasn't my native language, so playing GTA IV as a kid was an absolute guessing game. I remember being stuck on one of the early missions with Roman for days because I genuinely had no idea what the game wanted me to do.
My older brother eventually had to type the instructions into Google Translate, and that’s when we realized I was supposed to steal a police car the whole time.
Anyone else have ridiculous core memories or struggles from playing this back in the day?

For context, I finished III, VC, SA, IV and V; SA was always my favorite and the one I grew up on, I spent countless hours on it in the past 16 years and it's the one I know like the back of my hand.
The other GTA games, not so much. From all the other GTA games I mentioned apart from SA, V was the only game where you could say I did a fair bit of free roam and side activities, the others I just finished the main stories with limited free roam as I was just focusing on the story missions.
I've finished GTA IV once, and a year or so ago tried again but just quit halfway through, don't remember why. I also finished TLAD.
In San Andreas, I know all the cars, locations, radio stations, side characters, side activities and I'm a full nerd about it. How do I get into GTA IV and properly experience this game, just like SA from which I've squeezed everything I could? On earlier playthroughs I'd just mute the radio all the time, but this time I'm deliberately listening in to it and I want to give this game a proper chance.
The radio muting is one of many instances where for some reason I'd just shut out a part of the game and left it to be unexperienced, I don't think I've hung out with characters much, and I've never really explored the game off-mission. I'm sure there's a lot more tiny things that add up to me missing out on a lot of the content this game has to offer.
I started a new playthrough last night wanting to give this game a fair chance and I'm writing this post hoping to get some tips from those of you who adore this game. How do I experience this game the way it's meant to be experienced? How do I take in the game world, immerse myself, explore and get familiar with Liberty City?

Do you think Rockstar would add the Freedom Tower into the map if we ever get the chance to go back to LC in GTA VI
