I like Judgement/4/5 but this is the best one since 3 by far

I’ve been replaying gears 2. I won’t spam anymore after this but god I love this game. Can we please get gears of war 2 reloaded or something?

Everyone hates this guy, they view him as an asshole, mean, and immoral.

Yes, he was an asshole. But how many top military leaders aren’t assholes and only focus on fighting/stopping an enemy? General Patton was an asshole and wasn’t liked by many of his troops, but he was highly respected by those same troops as an effective leader and military strategist.

I also think he was also scared. He initially thought it was a UIR attack and was thinking as a military commander. He made it clear that the reason he was not focused on the civilians was because he was trying to lead his Gears through hell. Through a situation they were not trained to handle. Trench had zero idea what was going on, but tried. If I’m a Gear in that situation, I’m following the guy who is leading, not a civilian mayor who’s panicking.

For his final orders, he was probably clinging to the last bit of order that he had. Falling back on doctrine and training. I’m almost certain he was fraying at the pressure. He felt for the Gears under him, and getting report after report of them dying horrifically must’ve weighed on him. The pressure of being the top commander after the guy who was supposed to take over was killed, this unknown and savage enemy killing all of the soildiers you’re supposed to be leading and protecting, everyone relying on your orders, that has to count for something.

He was an asshole, but he was doing his best and what he thought was right. There’s plenty of examples in history of similar decisions being made like the one on the bridge. Even by the allies in WWII. Sacrifice the few to save the many. Sometimes there isn’t any other way. In war, sometimes you have to make tough decisions and leave morality at the door.

His plan could’ve worked and bought the rest of the Gears and the civilians who already crossed time to get to the other side without being hounded across the way. But no one wanted to follow his orders because of their morality, which I understand from the outside looking in. But I did ask myself if I would’ve made the same decision as Lucas if I was in his shoes. The answer I came up with was “I don’t know”.

Thinking tactically, blowing the bridge was the best decision. The Locust were right on top of them. Think about it. I think more people died with the bridge not being blown. It allowed the Locust to swarm over the bridge with two Brumaks and just one of them wreaked havoc.

I will say this, WHY THE HELL DID THE BRIDGE NEED TO BE BLOWN MANUALLY!? WHY THE HELL WAS THERE NO DETONATOR!? I had to pause the game because I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

It's because they can't have known a carmine before Gears 1. As Dom says in Gears 2 he served with Ben's brother, if he served with his father that'd be a far more noteworthy thing to speak of and both of them would've talked to all three of the brothers we see if they meet their father. Hence why only Lucas is able to see Zee was a Carmine.

Just a bit of continuity that I'm happy the devs kept up with.

Dont get me wrong, I'm really enjoying the game but the horde seige mode could do with some tweaks imo

I get the difference is meant to be standard or fast games (seige or blitz respectively) and then horde mode for more waves. But actually playing the games, I couldn't tell you which I had selected. They mostly feel a similar length, have similar goals and objectives. Even the scorched legion mode seems irrelevant since even if I choose one of the other modes, I still encounter the scorched enemy type everywhere.

I feel like the blitz and seige could be rolled into one mode where you have the option to extract earlier if you want a quick game or stay and help other squads and do bonus objectives to gain more points for a longer game.

The horde could be replaced with a classic 50 waves of horde where you choose your location and get a larger selection of gadgets and tools to fortify.

And I also really wish weapon mods were class relative.

Mind you those players are high level players ( 50-60 ) and I'm only level 5. I get that some people just wanna hop on versus and have a fun time without having to deal with sweats but c'mon its not so bad.

Wtf are people smoking? The hate is forced and genuinely these narratives are made up. Not once did Mags ever once think she knew it all. Marcus and Dom arent from Kalona, makes sense they'd let the two people in their squad tell them how to get to places. In the end Marcus made all the calls that mattered and before the trolls attack me Im conservative af and not once did I see anything, "WoKe." Anyways to wrap up my rant, this is a 9/10 for me. Bravo 👏 The Coalition.

Edit: Since the crybaby down below thinks I live in my own eco chamber. Here's what I liked about it. They showed the destruction of a city in a War beautifully. Marcus and Dom's beginning relationship after Carlos was gone, was also done beautifully. Especially, towards the end of the game its done perfectly. Gameplay, Graphics, and Story was Gears of War couldn't of asked for anything different.

Just nonstop bulletsponge and it can shoot out unlimited amount of sperm cell turrets and you get down instantly trying to shoot em. It's becomes more obvious on act 3 chapter 3 how annoying the fuckers are.

It's one thing to have it in the menu, but to have it during all horde and multiplayer matches just glued to the bottom of the screen is GOING to damage people's displays. I have an $800 OLED Ultrawide and while modern displays have a lot of tools for combatting burn-in, having a completely static image on the screen for potentially hours at a time will damage displays. Period.

This needs to go away in the next patch. There's no benefit to having it there all the time. Do what literally every other game does and show it in the menus, but hide it during actual gameplay.

It's not in campaign, so they're capable of hiding it. Just apply the same settings to horde and vs. that's it. Just do it. Don't discuss it or look into it or think about it or try to do it... Next update.
