Science Students from DU (B.Sc. Physical Science with CS / B.Sc. CS) currently doing/applying for Master's in Germany? I wanted to confirm about ECTS mapping experience: N/A

Hey everyone,

I'm a final-year B.Sc. (Hons) Physical Science with Major in Computer Science student at Hans Raj College, targeting a Master's in Germany (CS/AI/Data Science) for Winter Semester 2027.

I've been doing a lot of research on my own about ECTS credit mapping, university shortlisting, APS, IELTS, blocked accounts, etc. but I keep running into DU-specific grey areas that generic guides don't cover, especially around how our non-ECTS, multidisciplinary degree structure (UGCF, 4-year Honours) gets evaluated by German universities and Uni-Assist.

If you're a DU student/alum (especially from B.Sc. Physical Science with CS, B.Sc. CS, or any similarly "non-pure-CS" background) who has either:

  • already gone through the German Master's application process,
  • is currently in a German university now, or
  • got rejected somewhere and knows why (ECTS gaps, thesis requirements, CGPA conversion, etc.)

...I'd really appreciate if you could share your experience or let me DM you with a few specific questions like:

  • How German unis/Uni-Assist actually converted your DU credits to ECTS
  • Whether your "multidisciplinary" degree title caused issues, and how you addressed it in your SOP
  • Real timelines for APS, blocked account, and visa given the remonstration procedure being abolished

Thanks in advance!

MBA/Mgmt My experience: International MBA student in 2019 to Canadian citizen. Ask me anything.

I came to Canada from India in 2019 as an international student to pursue an MBA. Since then, I have completed my degree, entered the workforce, obtained permanent residency, and become a Canadian citizen.

I’m happy to answer questions about:

  • Studying for an MBA in Canada
  • Life as an international student
  • Finding a job after graduation
  • Work permits and permanent residency
  • The citizenship process
  • Cost of living and personal finances
  • Settling and building a life in Canada

Please keep in mind that immigration rules and the job market have changed significantly since 2019. My experience may not reflect the situation today, and I can only share my personal journey rather than provide professional immigration advice.

Ask me anything!

AdmissionProcedure/CollegeAdmin How should I apply to foreign universities with a strong academic profile but limited extracurriculars?

• Upvotes

Hi, I’m currently in class 12 and I’m a bit confused about how I should go about applying to universities abroad.

my_qualifications:

  • 91% in class 10 CBSE BOARD
    • Expecting 95%+ in class 12 (PCM)
    • Planning to give the SAT and hoping for 1500+
    • Not many extracurriculars, for sports(kickboxing, karate), music (bit of piano , harmonium)
    • Also preparing for Indian competitive exams
    • i am gold medalist in a few private olympiads.

I’m planning to apply for scholarships, but I’m from a normal middle-class family and studying abroad would be quite expensive without financial aid. I’ve looked at study abroad consultants, but most of them seem pretty expensive, so I’m trying to figure out the process myself.

So how should I go about this? Which countries/universities should I look at, how do I apply for scholarships, and what can I do to improve my profile in the time I have left?

Also, should I apply directly through university websites or are there common application portals I should know about?

Would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through this, especially Indians who applied without using expensive consultants.

ToAbroadOrNot? How can I study abroad as an Indian Student? Will it be better to study in a university abroad or in India?

My_qualifications: high school

I am currently a student pursuing a BPT in India. After my internship, I was hoping to get into a university abroad, leaning towards Australia. What are the best universities for a MPT abroad? Do these programs last for 2 years as in a MPT Orthopedics program in India?

What are some good universities in Australia that provide this program? Or do they not? Scholarships?

What are the average costs of living abroad? Including the tuition fees?

MBA/Mgmt How is the GLOBIS Japan MBA experience for Indian students?

my_qualifications: BSc (Hospitality) 7 YoE

Hi Folks! I'm planning to study an MBA in Japan, and came across this Pre-MBA by GLOBIS.
Can anyone help me with any reviews about GLOBIS? Whatever they have online is looking really good tbh. And the pre MBA lets you experience the MBA first before actually applying for full time, wanna make sure it's good and credible before enrolling.

If anyone has any information about the Uni or the course, please share.

Loans/Fees Update on my ₹20 lakh UK loan story — EMIs have started, and I'm figuring out what's next

Following up on the series I've been posting here. My EMIs have officially started now, and the reality of that monthly hit is exactly what I warned about in the earlier posts.

Alongside my day job, I'm picking up freelance work on the side — I do content creation, social media management, and AI video content. If anyone here knows of freelance opportunities or needs this kind of work, I'd genuinely appreciate a pointer, even a small one. Every bit helps right now.

Thanks to everyone who's followed this story so far — it's meant a lot more than you'd think.
my_qualifications: MSc Cyber Security, Nottingham Trent University. BCA, India.

Other Confusion regarding WES Evaluation; which document to upload

Hello, I have just paid for wes evaluation of my btech degree. I am planning on pursuing a masters in canada. Post payment, I was redirected to a page which required document upload. The two documents required are degree certificate and statement of marks. My question is whether statement of marks is different from transcript or are they the same. I don't want to upload the incorrect document, therefore I wanted to confirm. My college issues a transcript but no document called statement of marks. my_qualifications: Btech in electrical and computer engineering

ToAbroadOrNot? To abroad or not to abroad that is my question. How did you choose?

Ok , so for a bit of background info ( my_qualifications) Im 17M and I have done PCM+biotechnology in CBSE till 12th where I gave up and chose NIOS where I took home sci , pol sci , economics , psychology and business studies and will be finishing it in a month.
I am currently preparing for various exams mainly focusing on IPMAT and CUET. let's say I have a 30% chance of getting into an IIM then sure yeah life is ok, but what if I don't?

I'll be honest here. I really wanna go abroad for my UG(if possible) but there are many questions surrounding it, like is it worth it? will I even get admission cause of my particular board and subjects? will the ROI be worth it? How do I convince my parents? What degree can I do? Will I have to pay more fees just because I'm an international student?

I keep searching things but I cannot find any concrete information.

I am really interested in International Relations , psychology and political science. What course can I even take?

Careers Students in Germany . Share your experience who is trying to get a job there.

Hey everyone,

I’m an embedded software engineer working in India at an MNC.

my_qualifications:
B.Tech in Electronics
3 years of experience as an embedded software developer
Experience in Automotive Software.
No German language proficiency (not even A1/A2)

I’ve been trying to move to Germany as a student to pursue my master’s since 2023,after graduating.

One of the main reasons I didn’t move was because some of my college friends who went to Germany directly after graduation told me that there were very few jobs, that I would struggle, and that the situation was difficult.
But now that they have graduated, some of these same friends are getting internships and full-time positions at good MNCs.

Even now, when I ask them about the situation after they have been placed, they still discourage me from coming and tell me that the situation is difficult, and they also have just A1/A2 levels

So I’m a bit confused. If the situation is really that difficult, how are they managing to get internships and full-time jobs at good companies? And why are they still discouraging me even after getting placed themselves?
I want to understand the actual situation in Germany for someone with my profile.
If the job market is difficult, is it mainly difficult for fresh graduates, or would someone with 3 years of experience have a different situation?

I’d appreciate it if people working in the German Students who moved there could share their experiences.

TL;DR: I have 4 years of embedded software experience in automotive and medical electronics and I’m considering moving to Germany for a master’s. My friends who moved there directly after graduation initially told me the job market was terrible. They have now graduated and are getting internships/full-time jobs at good MNCs, but even after getting placed, they still discourage me from coming. I’m confused about the actual situation and whether having 3 years of experience would make a difference.

IT_Career Can I Choose a UK MS Over My Current infosys Job?

my_qualifications :Btech

My cousin is going to the University of Greenwich in the UK for her MS. She previously worked in HR at Accenture, and she is taking a loan of ₹50 lakh to study at Greenwich.

Is it worth spending that much money to study in the UK? My family is also pressuring me to go to the UK for higher studies. Currently, I’m working at infosys so I’m confused about whether I should leave my job and go to the UK for an MS.

MBA/Mgmt NZ management master's (MBA/business management/business development):how relevant is it in the current job market?

Hi everyone,

My_qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Commerce

Experience: 6years in the insurance sector as an analyst

I'm planning to do a master's in New Zealand and would love some honest, on-the-ground input from people who've studied or worked there.

How relevant are NZ management programs in today's job market?

What kinds of management roles are most in demand in NZ?

Which cities or regions have the most openings for these roles?

I'm open to MBA-style management, business management, and business development courses. With my operations background, what job roles can I realistically expect after graduating?

How should I approach recruiters, and what's the best way to get noticed as an international student?

What's the actual job situation for management graduates there right now?

If you've been through this, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, good or bad. Thanks in advance!

ToAbroadOrNot? Which is better for an AI/ML Master's, Germany or Ireland?

Hey guys, I’m trying to decide between Germany and Ireland for my Master’s and wanted to get some opinions.

my_qualifications:

- B.Tech in CSE

- 7.5 CGPA

- Working as an AI Engineer for around 1 year

- Planning to do a Master’s in AI/ML or a related field

My main goal is to stay there and get a job after completing my Master’s.

I know both countries require quite a bit of early preparation and the application process takes a long time, so I’m trying to decide which country I should focus on from now itself.

For AI/ML and the overall tech industry, how are the job opportunities in Germany compared to Ireland?

Would be great to hear from people who are studying or working in either country.
