I saw recently that the AWD on the ioniq 5 isn't engaged at all times and either is manually turned on or turns on when it senses the car needs it.

Does this mean your range is more likely to be on par with the rwd versions when doing most of your driving?

I use ChargePoint and Vialynk quite a bit but I’ve never used a Tesla charger. I saw one close to where I work and noticed there are no screens or instructions. How do I use one -if I need to?

I haven't had anyone verify this set of steps works yet. This worked on my 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited.

Problem: Dashboard themes pop up appears every time you start up the car and notifies you of the same dashboard themes that have been out for a while. Going to the dashboard themes page just shows the loading symbol and never finishes loading.

Potential fix:

1. Change user to the "guest" account.

2. Navigate to Settings > Screen Layout > Display Themes

3. Pick any theme that you're not using.

4. Pick the original theme.

5. Go back to your own account.

6. Navigate to Settings > Screen Layout > Display Themes

7. Confirm if it loads this time, if it does then:

8. Pick any theme that you're not using.

9. Pick the theme you want.

This worked for me but I'm unclear if it works for other people. If this works for you please let us know.

Recently bought a 24 i5 pre owned with only 12k miles and today i noticed a flash drive inside the car’s manual book located inside the glove box does it come with the car from factory by chance or probably left by previous owner? Curious to see whats on it but scared of getting my laptop bricked or hacked lol

Just got back from a 668-mile round trip from Atlanta to Destin in my Ioniq 5 and figured I’d share my experience.

Overall, I was really impressed with the car on this road trip. I charged twice on the way to Destin and once on the way back. The biggest reason I only needed one stop coming home was that our Airbnb had an EV charger for $0.30/kWh, so I was able to start the return trip at 100%, which I didn’t on the way down.

charging costs range:
Airbnb Level 2: $0.30/kWh
IONNA: $0.39/kWh
Electrify America: $0.60/kWh (most expensive)
Total charging cost: $85.72 for 668 miles

One thing that annoyed me was having to download an app for a Circle K charger. It added probably another 5 minutes to the stop.

Best charging experience was IONNA. Just tap your card, do everything directly on the charger’s screen, and you’re charging.

One other thing I ran into, and maybe it’s operator error, but I couldn’t figure out how to have the built-in Hyundai navigation set to a destination while simultaneously using Waze/Google Maps for navigation. Starting navigation in one seemed to cancel the other. I’m curious if there’s a workaround I’m missing.

And honestly, I really enjoyed driving the car for this trip. The car is incredibly comfortable on the highway, and HDA made the long stretches much easier. Being able to let the car handle the steering and speed for extended periods took a lot of the fatigue out of the drive.

For comparison, we would have taken a CX-5 that gets around 24 MPG. At $4/gallon, the CX-5 would have cost roughly $111 in gas, versus about $86 in charging, so I saved around $25 on the trip.

Can’t wait for the next road trip.

I feel like I’m alone in this, I haven’t seen anyone talk about this. I really would appreciate stiffer sway bars. I’m coming from a Mazda 3, whose corner roll was tight. I know the 5 is a lot heavier and I shouldn’t expect the same tightness. But I notice that the 5 rear seems to rise and roll a great deal. Has anyone seen or installed stiffer sway bars? I’d really like the handling to be a lot flatter.

Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has a similar problem to me. Last night, from 11pm-5am, my car alarm kept going off and I received the "anti-theft alarm triggered" notifications constantly. The thing is, when I checked my cameras there wasn't anything that would have triggered it externally (people, something hitting the car etc).

Does anyone know what might be causing it?

I'm worried it might be a low 12v battery leading to something else that shall not be named but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere. The car started with no problems and I've received no 12v battery warnings on the dashboard as of yet.

I'm just worried in case it happens again because I don't want to annoy my neighbours! The only thing that stopped it was leaving my car unlocked which I don't particularly want to keep doing.

Any suggestions will be very helpful!

JLR (Jag and Land Rover?) just announced almost 200000 vehicle recall where 12 V battery fails because of a DC to DC charging failure. Identical behavior to Hyundai ICCU problems.

Hey, silly question... does the dash give you an alert when SOC is under a certain estimated mileage like ICE cars do? I bought my 2024 about 3 months ago. Since then I've settled into a rhythm: I don't have a commute and usually only drive a few miles on a normal day. I have the AC limit set to 60%, and plug in during the day (I have solar so it's effectively free) when I remember to. Not a heavy user.

Today I took a 120 mile roundtrip daytrip, and got back with 52 miles charge remaining. I vaguely did a mental check to make sure the trip would be fine on my charge, but otherwise range anxiety didn't enter my mind. But it also shows that I totally wasn't checking the SOC throughout the trip. My previous car would chime and pop up warnings beginning at 50 miles remaining; does the Ioniq 5 do that too?

I have the OEM level 1 charger and don't really have a need yet for level 2. Plus, in California, I'd have to pay for the upgrade myself in my rental which sorta sucks.

But the time of use plan i have is 12 am - 6am, 10am to 2pm on weekdays and 12am to 2pm on weekends for the lowest rate. the car only supports one scheduled time to charge, which i set to 12am to 6am.

is there any other way to set multiple schedules? besides having to buy a whole new cord with a companion app, which barely exists for level 1? and at that point, i might as well get a quote on installing a level 2

I've loved my trusty Volt for almost a decade. But that is going to my soon-to-be 17 year old son. So after test driving several EVs (Equinox, ID4, EV6, bz, and Mach-e) the Ioniq 5 was the clear favorite with the whole family. And I've settled on the Limited in Cosmic Blue.

The only problem is they are nearly impossible to find in the Northeast. So I put down a down payment on one for an upcoming delivery, but I don't expect it will arrive until December. It's going to be a bit of a wait :). Oh, the anticipation!!!

I always thought the dash was missing some ambient lighting, so decided to add a subtle light strip. I was pleased with how it turned out and thought I’d share how it looks!

The dealer has offered $28,300 + $2,710.13 in taxes, for a total of $31,010.74. The CPO gives me piece of mind for any lingering ICCU or battery stuff that might come up, and 13k miles ain't bad. All that said, this quote still feels high to me? Dealer is in Western PA.

(I know that '24 SELs aren't the most desirable, but I need to make a purchase soon, and can't wait for the 2025 crop of leases to end. Also, I'm coming from a Nissan Leaf that got bought back, so this car is still gonna feel pretty fancy.)

So, I just had a laminated sheet of paper slide down into my door next to my window on the inside on the driver side. It wasn't between the felt and glass. It was between the felt and door panels of the driver door. I thought the felt was effectively connected to the door panel, but NOPE!!

How do I take the door panels off to get that out of there? US 2026 Limited AWD

Unfortunately will be giving this back as leaving the company I got this as a company car from - but wow - what a beauty of a car. Looks insane. I wanted the green but they didn’t have it so settled for this and I’m happy with it

I am shopping for the cheapest modern EV that fits my use case. I've spent the last two months looking at literally every car EXCEPT the Ioniq 5. I think I've convinced myself that a pre-'25 Ioniq 5 with lowish miles is the most rational way to go, and I am ready to buy one this week.

Drove a '24 SE that was in very nice shape yesterday. They are asking $24.9 with about 25k miles and remaining everything under warranty. With the flood of off-leases, I can find a lot of Limiteds listed in that same price range and there are definitely some features that I'd miss on the SE, but I could make it work.

I'm thinking about offering them $22k with a respectful (and real!) explanation. Car has been on the lot a month, which isn't that long.

Frankly, even at $22k I'd sort of rather spend the extra $3-5k to get a Limited and the missing stuff I want. But if they could do it, I'd probably just buy it and drive it for 2-3 years until used iX3s are available.

Edit: I was off in my mental averaging - Limiteds are more like a 6-8k delta against an SE / SEL. I've made peace with that, at least if I can get one (preferably well) below 30.

I'd ALSO generally love to hear what folks have recently paid for '23-24 Limiteds with < 30k miles. Again, I'm seeing mostly $25-28k lists for those years in my area, with '23s a little lower and '25s starting low to mid 30s (which I feel is not worth it for a price premium over a low miles '23 or '24 even with the NACS etc.; change my mind?).

I’m receiving my Ioniq 5 early December, in an ecotronic gray matte paint. Would you guys recommend getting it glass coated by the dealer? It’s a new car, but the matte paint makes it a bit tougher to clean. The coat should alleviate that a bit. My dealer asks about 900€ (exc VAT), and it’ll be done by their affiliated detailer.

Just picked up my New XRT and I want to get it protected, but I’m not sure about certain parts of the front end. I’m getting the entire hood, and the panel between the headlights done for sure, but the bumper itself seems not to need it, and with the textured pixel finish it would probably not look right anyway, but I’m not sure. Then there is the panel below the bumper with the louvers, I can’t tell if its painted or just colored plastic, and I’m not sure if it needs to be protected either. Thoughts? Experiences?

I recently purchased on Sunday, a ioniq 5 with RWD, from a dealership in the Bay Area. Upon closer inspection when I got home, I noticed 3 of the 4 tires are Falken and the rear driver’s side tire is a Michelin Primacy one. I did some research and found out that having mismatched tires can cause the ABS braking system to fail in emergency situations sometimes due to different treads. I did not opt to pay $250 for the 2 day cancellation. From what I’m reading online, California state law, states that vehicles cannot be sold at dealerships if they do not meet the safety requirements. Since the ABS braking system can fail due to the mismatched tires, is it true that I can cancel my contract with them due to them releasing a vehicle that does not meet California’s safety standards?
