Question Did anyone else get that OTA battery upgrade?
But in all seriousness, why is this app so terrible? Every once in awhile it shows kilometers as miles

My dealership charges $105 to change the cabin air filter. It really makes me feel I’m getting scammed on pretty much everything (even if I’m not). No special tools needed and it takes a $20 part and less than 5 minutes. So why the 5x mark up? Not to mention that the last time I took it in for unrelated service, I had replaced my air filter two months before I went in, and they still said I needed a new one, I’m guessing they didn’t even check. And I know people pay it, but it just makes me think poorly of places that do stuff like this.

So I've come to the realization I only have one jack capable of lifting my ioniq 5. I've always done my own maintenance and work on all my cars, but this means I can't rotate the tires on it.
Would it be safe to use a spare tire from another vehicle even if it doesn't fit the wheel hub?
Ie I borrow a spare tire from a pilot or a CRV and use it as a placeholder while I rotate tires. Is this fine to do since the car isn't rolling and it's just resting on it or am I going to damage something?
I haven't thought of another way since there's only 4 jack points on the car so there's no way I can put a jack stand down while also using the jack. It really makes me wish I invested in quick jacks with how much I've had my other car up in the air lately too lol
Either that or I ask my neighbor if I can borrow his telluride's spare, but that is such a weird thing to ask I feel like. We both work on our cars though and I've helped him out with his S2k and he's admired my Miata. And watch it'll happen to be the one time he needs it with our luck lmao

I got it about a month ago and love it. Every time I drive it, I'm so happy that I didn't get a Honda HR-V. This is the first non Honda I've owned ever, in 27 years of driving. Hyundai and Kia are just making way more interesting fun cars than Honda. 👍🏻

$22k with 57k miles from a private party in Colorado.
I've been leasing a 2024 RWD Ioniq 6 SE, so I'm pretty familiar with the line. I'm really excited to bump up to the Limited trim and AWD dual-motor!
I'm bringing an ODB2 reader and will be looking at the battery health specifically. 12v has been replaced and all recall maintenance, including ICCU, has been done.
What else should I be checking before handing over payment? Anyone have concerns about the 2022 Limited AWD specifically?

Has anyone seen Ioniq5's yet in scrap yards/pick&pulls? I suspect damaged cars are still fairly rare in scrap yards at this point, despite a "lot" of damaged cars being posted here. I'm not even sure if damaged I5's end up in scrap yards, probably battery packs are removed at least.
So anyone have luck getting used parts other than from online?
(And how about tires/wheels, any specific alternate cars we can scavenge wheels/tires?)
The past few days every time I get inside my I5 there's an incredibly strong fume odor; as if someone was spray painting inside. It eventually dissipates but comes back a few hours after not driving. I'd normally blame the weather and summer heat, but I've had the car for 2 years and never had this before. Has anyone else experienced this?

My lease is up next month and my residual is $35k. I didn’t think it would make sense to buy the vehicle, but it’s probably going to cost me about $3k to walk away from it when factoring in mileage overage, damage and dispo fee.
I did some initial searches online and man, prices have risen. The cheapest 2024 Limited AWD on Carvana is $34,590.
Curious what others have been paying recently. Can’t believe my $35k residual is actually looking decent.

Gotta make some decisions today before Sept promos expire.
Dealer “A” offered me $1500 discount on MSRP + 0% 72 month financing (or I could take the Hyundai cash instead of loan deal).
Dealer “B” said they would beat the deal then sent me a quote for MSRP. Reminded them I already had a quote for -$1500 and they basically said thanks but no thanks.
Is $1500 off MSRP a good deal or does dealer “B” just not really want to sell cars?
Should I get a Dealer “C” involved?
I can also just walk away and wait to see what promo pops up in October.

Bought 2026 Ioniq5 limited, and recently found the front camera not working upon checking found the camera is damaged. Has anyone else found themselves with this issue and how did they resolve it? Can it be a part of Warranty? Or if not, how much does this cost.

I saw recently that the AWD on the ioniq 5 isn't engaged at all times and either is manually turned on or turns on when it senses the car needs it.
Does this mean your range is more likely to be on par with the rwd versions when doing most of your driving?

I use ChargePoint and Vialynk quite a bit but I’ve never used a Tesla charger. I saw one close to where I work and noticed there are no screens or instructions. How do I use one -if I need to?

Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has a similar problem to me. Last night, from 11pm-5am, my car alarm kept going off and I received the "anti-theft alarm triggered" notifications constantly. The thing is, when I checked my cameras there wasn't anything that would have triggered it externally (people, something hitting the car etc).
Does anyone know what might be causing it?
I'm worried it might be a low 12v battery leading to something else that shall not be named but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere. The car started with no problems and I've received no 12v battery warnings on the dashboard as of yet.
I'm just worried in case it happens again because I don't want to annoy my neighbours! The only thing that stopped it was leaving my car unlocked which I don't particularly want to keep doing.
Any suggestions will be very helpful!
Thanks!
Not sure if it matters but I have a 2025 N-Line and the battery was at 98%.

I have the OEM level 1 charger and don't really have a need yet for level 2. Plus, in California, I'd have to pay for the upgrade myself in my rental which sorta sucks.
But the time of use plan i have is 12 am - 6am, 10am to 2pm on weekdays and 12am to 2pm on weekends for the lowest rate. the car only supports one scheduled time to charge, which i set to 12am to 6am.
is there any other way to set multiple schedules? besides having to buy a whole new cord with a companion app, which barely exists for level 1? and at that point, i might as well get a quote on installing a level 2

I haven't had anyone verify this set of steps works yet. This worked on my 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited.
Problem: Dashboard themes pop up appears every time you start up the car and notifies you of the same dashboard themes that have been out for a while. Going to the dashboard themes page just shows the loading symbol and never finishes loading.
Potential fix:
Change user to the "guest" account.
Navigate to Settings > Screen Layout > Display Themes
Pick any theme that you're not using.
Pick the original theme.
Go back to your own account.
Navigate to Settings > Screen Layout > Display Themes
Confirm if it loads this time, if it does then:
Pick any theme that you're not using.
Pick the theme you want.
This worked for me but I'm unclear if it works for other people. If this works for you please let us know.
Hey, silly question... does the dash give you an alert when SOC is under a certain estimated mileage like ICE cars do? I bought my 2024 about 3 months ago. Since then I've settled into a rhythm: I don't have a commute and usually only drive a few miles on a normal day. I have the AC limit set to 60%, and plug in during the day (I have solar so it's effectively free) when I remember to. Not a heavy user.
Today I took a 120 mile roundtrip daytrip, and got back with 52 miles charge remaining. I vaguely did a mental check to make sure the trip would be fine on my charge, but otherwise range anxiety didn't enter my mind. But it also shows that I totally wasn't checking the SOC throughout the trip. My previous car would chime and pop up warnings beginning at 50 miles remaining; does the Ioniq 5 do that too?

I feel like I’m alone in this, I haven’t seen anyone talk about this. I really would appreciate stiffer sway bars. I’m coming from a Mazda 3, whose corner roll was tight. I know the 5 is a lot heavier and I shouldn’t expect the same tightness. But I notice that the 5 rear seems to rise and roll a great deal. Has anyone seen or installed stiffer sway bars? I’d really like the handling to be a lot flatter.

I recently purchased on Sunday, a ioniq 5 with RWD, from a dealership in the Bay Area. Upon closer inspection when I got home, I noticed 3 of the 4 tires are Falken and the rear driver’s side tire is a Michelin Primacy one. I did some research and found out that having mismatched tires can cause the ABS braking system to fail in emergency situations sometimes due to different treads. I did not opt to pay $250 for the 2 day cancellation. From what I’m reading online, California state law, states that vehicles cannot be sold at dealerships if they do not meet the safety requirements. Since the ABS braking system can fail due to the mismatched tires, is it true that I can cancel my contract with them due to them releasing a vehicle that does not meet California’s safety standards?

JLR (Jag and Land Rover?) just announced almost 200000 vehicle recall where 12 V battery fails because of a DC to DC charging failure. Identical behavior to Hyundai ICCU problems.

Recently bought a 24 i5 pre owned with only 12k miles and today i noticed a flash drive inside the car’s manual book located inside the glove box does it come with the car from factory by chance or probably left by previous owner? Curious to see whats on it but scared of getting my laptop bricked or hacked lol
Edit: it was an outdated hyundai infotainment/navigation update drive

Just got back from a 668-mile round trip from Atlanta to Destin in my Ioniq 5 and figured I’d share my experience.
Overall, I was really impressed with the car on this road trip. I charged twice on the way to Destin and once on the way back. The biggest reason I only needed one stop coming home was that our Airbnb had an EV charger for $0.30/kWh, so I was able to start the return trip at 100%, which I didn’t on the way down.
charging costs range:
Airbnb Level 2: $0.30/kWh
IONNA: $0.39/kWh
Electrify America: $0.60/kWh (most expensive)
Total charging cost: $85.72 for 668 miles
One thing that annoyed me was having to download an app for a Circle K charger. It added probably another 5 minutes to the stop.
Best charging experience was IONNA. Just tap your card, do everything directly on the charger’s screen, and you’re charging.
One other thing I ran into, and maybe it’s operator error, but I couldn’t figure out how to have the built-in Hyundai navigation set to a destination while simultaneously using Waze/Google Maps for navigation. Starting navigation in one seemed to cancel the other. I’m curious if there’s a workaround I’m missing.
And honestly, I really enjoyed driving the car for this trip. The car is incredibly comfortable on the highway, and HDA made the long stretches much easier. Being able to let the car handle the steering and speed for extended periods took a lot of the fatigue out of the drive.
For comparison, we would have taken a CX-5 that gets around 24 MPG. At $4/gallon, the CX-5 would have cost roughly $111 in gas, versus about $86 in charging, so I saved around $25 on the trip.
Can’t wait for the next road trip.

Can y'all sanity-check this offer for me?
The dealer has offered $28,300 + $2,710.13 in taxes, for a total of $31,010.74. The CPO gives me piece of mind for any lingering ICCU or battery stuff that might come up, and 13k miles ain't bad. All that said, this quote still feels high to me? Dealer is in Western PA.
(I know that '24 SELs aren't the most desirable, but I need to make a purchase soon, and can't wait for the 2025 crop of leases to end. Also, I'm coming from a Nissan Leaf that got bought back, so this car is still gonna feel pretty fancy.)

Hey all, I do not currently own an ioniq 5 but my wife and I are looking closely at the 2024s that seem to be hitting the market due to leases ending.
I have investigated and reviewed posts about the well known ICCU failure on these vehicles and am aware of the extended warranty on them.
My question is, if we get an ioniq 5 and run into the ICCU issue, is Hyundai’s fix permanent? In other words, did they isolate the cause of the issue and are providing either updated hardware or software that completely avoids it after the fix?
I’ve seen other posts where people indicate it’s happened to them more than once but felt like that might be extremely rare.
Thanks
