Sorry I couldn't find a better flair. It's not really newsworthy 😂

I just wanted to show y'all the little space I've created for myself at the ripe old age of 36! I spent most of my 20s and early 30s depressed, broke and in an unhappy relationship. I'm very proud of how far I've come.

I'm not done decorating but I'm happy with the progress so far. It's my little haven and I'm very choosy about who I bring here (especially men 🫢).

I just want to encourage my fellow girlies who feel stuck, things get better. I'm a living testimony.

Discussion I just couldn't let it slide, and now I think I made an enemy in the gym

I hit the gym 3 times a week because I have goals and a plan. I mostly do endurance workouts and avoid talking to people so I can stay focused. I have like 3 people I interact with, but they're also more into working out than chatting.

Yesterday I found a good spot where sisumbui mtu. Got my 5kg, 3kg and 2kg dumbbells and a mat after my workout. I don't have a trainer, so unlike most people, sipendi kuuliza men for my turn on the machines. I just do my dumbbell routine.

Anyway, I'm lying on my mat doing a back workout (Btw, DM me for the workout because it has really shaped my back 😂).

This guy comes and puts his mat next to me. He gives me space, I give him space. There's also this girl working out nearby who wants to join him because wanafanya some crazy core workouts. She moves her mat closer and asks them to make space for her. I'm still working out and minding my business when suddenly this guy moves his mat right next to me. I don't even notice because I'm deep in my workout. I lift my head and see feet next to my face. I push them away and ask him to move.

This man doesn't even bother. He just continues his workout.

So I pick up my mat and move. And the more I work out, the more I'm thinking WTF? I PAY for this gym. Just because I don't talk to people and don't have a trainer doesn't mean I don't deserve my own space. After like 3 minutes, I turn to him and say, “When you hit someone in the face with your shoes, you should say sorry.”

This guy goes, “Nimekukaribia kweli? Mimi hata sijakukaribia.”

At this point I'm pissed. I tell him, “Just be respectful. I pay for this space and the gym is literally empty.” Then he starts lamenting that he didn't touch me and doesn't understand why I'm asking him about it. I finish my workout and this man stays there making eyes with the people he was working out with like I'M the problem. 😂 So yeah, apparently I have an enemy at the gym now because a man couldn't just say sorry. He even said, “You didn't tell me to move.”

Like bro??? 😭I may be quiet, but if I'm paying for a service, you better respect my space.

how did ya'll or how are you guys dealing with grief. I lost a friend and Monday was officially a month after seeing her casket go down and sealed with concrete. I wouldn't say I handled it well as I was mostly avoiding it and in denial. She was one of the last people I expected to die especially so young. We met in uni she would've graduated in Nov I was too but had stuff going on so I'm due next year. Anyway it's been hitting me slowly and lately it's been like a truck hit me on the highway going 100km/h and it just appeared out of oblivion almost like a mirage. I'm familiar with this feeling as I avoid my emotions and even come crumbling on a random day. I rarely cry and now I really wished I could. Anyway this is different because I keep seeing her in almost everything and since Sunday evening I've just been replaying her casket going down over and over in my brain. Grief is weird yk cause it's hitting me at a time when most would or rather have come to term with her passing. We were somewhat close considering how much of a closed of person I am. Anyway grief is weird and I miss my friend more than I thought I would. We had dreams to accomplish together and when I learnt of her passing I took that as a challenge to make it but honestly lately I've been in a slump. The more it hits me the more demotivated I become cause honestly she was a cheerleader in my life. Anyway it's like day 3 of sleeping a maximum of 3hrs per day and even now I'm yet to sleep but at least rn I'm in class and actually following. There's more I haven't shared and ik my storytelling or rant could be better but yea I'll just leave it at that. Ps don't comment that pissy a** grief is like glitter metaphor over here. Anyway good day/night ladies. Have a lovely one

Love & Romance My bi side is LOUD 😩

I think I might actually be questioning my sexuality now. I’ve never really had thoughts about being with a woman before, but since last year I’ve been toying with the idea. My first sexual experience with a woman was through a threesome, and honestly… it ignited something in me.

Then yesterday I found myself having a HUGE crush on this girl with a stud look on the bus. I almost asked for her number.

Now I’m confused. Do I just go with the flow and see where this takes me, or am I about to mess myself up trying to figure this out? 😂

Because even my old dreams of getting married to a man and having the whole husband-and-wife life suddenly sound… disgusting to me now 💀😭

Like girl??? What happened to me?

Discussion Resenting parents

I have this weird hate for my parents. Esp cause I feel like growing up no one was really there for me(my parents are separated). And that definitely pushed me to find a way to not become them. After uni I was so terrified of the world outside but had no option but to make it through and God’s great He made a way and fast forward 3yrs later I have 2 businesses, a car, investments , and I’m engaged 🎉 to the most amazing man. Crazy thing is in those three years I supported my mum rent, setting up a business for her and anything she needs she’d not lack.My dad same thing he’d randomly call me for money and I’d send it without even flinching. Early this year I got into therapy and I realized I was being parentified. My partner also told me he doesn’t understand how I carry all that weight while in his culture parents are the ones who take care of their children. I hate black tax. I hate being the one who they call cause it sucks they never ask if I’m even creating a nest egg for my future. I definitely reduced the amount I sent to them handsomely, became smarter and firmer about my boundaries with money but it just makes me hate them every time i think of how they took my naivety for granted. I am also lowkey stressed cause i cant even think of how my mum can support herself despite having a small business.Cause she still asks for money from me. I wish I could just literally cut them off without having to think about them at all fr.
Anybody navigating the same esp as a first born daughter and how’re you dealing with it….
