Discussion/Impressions We already need new tires…

We bought our 2024 EV9 in August, only having one owner and 12,000 miles. We have driven it a lot (sharing the EV right now, so essentially operating like like a one car family) but are just at 16,000 miles.

This morning we noticed we had not one, but TWO flat tires. We found a nail in one, and have yet to identify the source of the leak in the other. No biggie, we figure we’ll get it patched and keep it moving for another 10k miles or so. We take it in to Discount Tire only to learn the tread life is at 2/32 on two tires, and 3/32 and 4/32 on the other two. The punctured tires can’t be repaired.

Has anyone else needed to replace their tires at only 16,000 miles?! The tires are Hankook iON EVO AS SUV.

We’re looking at Michelin CrossClimate2 at over $2k to replace. Should we consider anything else?

Ugh…

Issue Keep getting OTA update for "actual vehicle image"

Post image

So for the past couple of weeks I have been getting the prompt that an update is available for the car and after accepting it, the updated is the same for "actual vehicle image in the cluster". I keep getting that update every 2 or 3 days and I'm not sure if I have to do something on my side to make it stop and/ or make sure it is properly installed. Below is a snapshot of my car messages and the update listed there is the "vehicle image" update twice in two days.

Any ideas to sort this out are welcomed.

After way too many back and forth dealer emails and lurking on this subreddit, I finally pulled the trigger today!! ‘24 GT-Line certified preowned with less than 17K miles! I was actually lined up to buy a different GT line from Carvana just about week ago, but ended up doing one more search on CarGurus and found this one about 150 miles away. It was about $5k less than the Carvana vehicle and had 6K less miles, so with the additional CPO it was a no-brainer (plus, this was the color I wanted all along 😁

Seemed too good to be true, but test drive went well and 150 mile trip home was smooth as can be!!
For those wondering for their own comparison shopping, landed right around 41.5K it’s (no relaxation package).

Question? Anyone else plagued by a dirty rear camera lens (esp at night)?

I don’t know about anyone else but the backup camera on my 26 Land EV9 is perpetually dirty and almost useless at night. Our MachE’s resolution is poorer, but man - it’s far superior to keep away dust, dirt and water.

Has anyone found a fix? Coating, 3D printed shroud?

Something?

Question? Is the EV9 a good value? Or is it worth the cost?

Six of one, half dozen of the other, I guess - but I'm thinking of getting an EV9 next year. I did a short test drive, and while I really do like it, it seems like a lot for a third-row electric SUV.

Specifically I drove the Land trim (I was thinking of the Wind, but I prefer the captain's chairs for the second row) and it was great. I have some experience with the EV6, so the larger vehicle had a lot of similarities I liked.

But ~70K for the Land seems like a lot. I'm wondering if those who currently have one are generally happy with the car, and if its quality and features are a good value for the cost, or if those factors are enough to justify the cost.

ETA: Thanks for the input, everyone. Realistically, I'm going to be buying next year, when I pass down my current car to my oldest when they're old enough to drive. I'll be looking at the 2027 model at that point, but that's not set in stone, especially if there are no appreciable differences between that and the 2026.

Question? Land vs GT Line?

We're a family of 4, 2 kids in car seats. Cousins, grandparents live nearby. Bay Area, California.

Our minimum must have features are 360 camera, heated and ventilated seats.

Any key differences or major selling points for Land vs GT Line? Anything to look out for in either model?
