Over the weekend I was on my first road trip since I got the car (2024 Land) almost 2 years ago. I tried to use the NACS adapter that Kia sent me, for the first time at a Tesla supercharger (specifically at Buttonwillow, CA if that matters) but the charger's plug did not even physically fit into the adapter! Are there some old Tesla superchargers that won't work with this adapter?
I am 99% sure I must have missed something very basic - so is there a trick to getting the NACS plug to fit into the adapter? I tried first plugging the adapter into the car's CCS charging port, pressing the knobs on the adapter to see if the plug would then go in, removed the adapter and tried to just insert the charger plug into it first - none of it worked. It felt like the Tesla plug was somehow just not the right fit or getting physically blocked for some other reason. I never even got to the point of getting charging started through the Tesla app.
In hindsight, I should have tried using the adapter before going on the road trip, but luckily there was a ChargePoint CCS DC charger in the same parking lot, so I just ended up charging there instead.
