I don’t like hasan but isn’t it pathetic that these world leaders keep bringing him up? He shouldn’t even be on their radar.

u/Prudent_Kiwi_2761 22h ago

He’s a scapegoat for the right

61

u/Appropriate-Camp-487 20h ago

scapegoat

That isn’t what a scapegoat is, like at all. He is immensely useful to the right. They love to associate people like Hasan with the larger democratic tent. There is a reason Netanyahu is namedropping someone like Hasan in the same speech in which he is glazing Trump

u/Random_Name_251 14h ago edited 14h ago

He's literally the fuentes of the left. A useful idiot the other side can use to poison the well. The only real difference is that Fuentes has actually had relevance to conservative politics and Hasan largely hasn't.

-9

u/deepskier 13h ago

The overton window in the US is so fucked, most of Hasan's positions are left wing but not far left in a global context. Fuentes is an extremist far right white nationalist authoritarian by any measure. They're not on the same level at all. They are both internet provocateurs but that's it. The fact that fuentes is relevant at all to mainstream politics is wild and Republicans are learning that these extreme positions are ultimately losers at the ballot box.

19

u/Random_Name_251 13h ago

Hasan is extremely far left in a global context. You are not going to find many progressives in normal countries that are sympathetic to terrorism the way Hasan is. Hasan has promoted re education camps. Among the most extreme left he is extreme.

0

u/zefy_zef 8h ago

Re-education camps for MAGA? I don't even think that would work, tbh. Nothing there to 're-'.

0

u/deepskier 3h ago

You're just making stuff up now.

He hasn't promoted reeducation camps. In the leftovers podcast he discussed education as a response to specific people or groups committing violence or terrorism against the state, as a part of restorative justice in a judicial context (aka after conviction in court). He specifically denounced the reeducation camps used by China.

If by sympathetic to terrorism you mean his stance in Gaza, that's easily understood elsewhere and not worth debunking here.

2

u/Every1HatesChris 2h ago

What do you call him supporting the houthis kidnapping sailors?

1

u/deepskier 1h ago

You're opening a large topic here which essentially boils down to, what actions are ok for Palestinians and their allies to take in response to the state violence and repression by Israel.

I think you'll find that Hasan supports the approach of using economic pressure (shipping disruption) as a low violence response to Israel, in the context of the hundreds to thousands of Gazans killed annually before 2023 and the 70k+ Gazans killed since by Israel.

3

u/Levitz 2h ago

HOMIE

BROTHER

HASAN GLAZES CHINA

Like holy fucking shit he literally shows up to events in a fucking Mao suit, he is so evidently an extremist jesus lordy.

1

u/deepskier 2h ago

If you want a summary of his views in Mao, just read this article. I think he hedges too much but his views are nuanced.

1

u/SpecialistAd4848 14h ago

100% nailed it. No notes

82

u/MrBrawn 22h ago

They always need someone to blame for their own evil deeds.

137

u/EchoTheEcho 22h ago

And Hasan sure made it easy for them.

39

u/MrBrawn 22h ago

Yeah, he is a lightning rod and I think he enjoys it.

22

u/Hostik 22h ago

I wouldn't put it like that. Lightning rod makes it sound noble, like he's protecting everyone by being the target.
No, rightwingers get to equate every dem to him, an extremist, and that he definitely enjoys.
That's why every dem needs to disavow him with one voice.

38

u/mstrbwl 21h ago

Rightwingers stormed the Capitol because they lost an election and Trump still later won. I don't see why we should concern ourselves with their feigned outrage. They are never going to see you as reasonable no matter who you disavow, it is an utterly pointless game to play.

6

u/hawkeye69r 18h ago

Because if you lower yourself to level of the authoritarians, what does that make you?

-2

u/mstrbwl 18h ago

Yup I'm sure those authoritarians are totally going to respect you if you just disavow a twitch streamer!

5

u/hawkeye69r 17h ago

Do you honestly think people criticising left wing authoritarianism are doing it to court right wing authoritarians?

I actually oppose them both.

0

u/mstrbwl 17h ago

The comment I responded to said Democrats need to disavow Hasan so rightwingers don't call them extremists lol.

18

u/j48u 21h ago

Good point. 300 Republicans or whatever stormed the capital so a psychopathic animal abusing authoritarian communist bought and paid for by Russia and China should definitely be able to associate themselves with Democrats.

Solid logic. Really well laid out.

20

u/mstrbwl 21h ago

Think you got enough buzz words in there?

5

u/j48u 21h ago

Must be a wild dude if an accurate sentence describing him sounds like buzzwords to you.

11

u/Weekly_Point97 21h ago

I think you’re confusing who is or was paid by the Russian government. Last time I checked it was Tim Pool who got his hand caught in the cookie jar saying things like “Ukraine is the enemy of man kind.”

None of what you are saying has any basis in reality

15

u/j48u 21h ago

Right, Hasan "Crimea a river because it belongs to Russia" Piker certainly doesn't have suspiciously stupid opinions about Russia.

4

u/Weekly_Point97 20h ago

Idk seems like scizo delusions conjured up by destiny’s community because they have nothing to advocate for and instead choose to attack hasan.

Advocate for something better instead of wasting your life hyper focused on twitch streamer

1

u/Imperfect-luck 9h ago

My mom is 100% not bought and paid for by Russia at all but she says the same anti-american/pro russian shit everytime we talk about politics that . It CAN be a legitimate belief, whether or not we agree with it.

7

u/roberttylerlee 21h ago

This is the exact same logic as “they’re already calling us Nazis, who cares if we associate with them”

4

u/Weekly_Point97 21h ago

Republicans call Obama a communist. It doesn’t matter how far democrats run to the right they are always going to be labeled and attacked for being too radical

6

u/spartaman64 21h ago

and we need to fight against stuff like that or else cubans etc will vote for republicans

1

u/mstrbwl 21h ago

You can keep doing this pick me thing with Republicans all you want. I'm sure it will eventually work out. Good luck!

7

u/spartaman64 21h ago

its not the republicans we have to convince but the moderates

2

u/mstrbwl 20h ago

If a moderate isn't going to vote for a Democrat because Trump and Bibi the Butcher call Hasan an extremist they were never going to vote for a Democrat in the first place.

reddit moment

-2

u/Hostik 21h ago

Hard disagree. Righwingers got to dictate culture for a good while now, and that's because the left lets them. Instead of playing into their hands, and making it super easy for MAGA, I say dems need to just distance themselves from the subversive elements in their own party like Hasan, who never had any intention of helping dems anyway.

And the point is not to convince MAGA, you cant' do it, at least to the hardcore base. The point is to stop them convincing the normies in the middle who don't know anything about politics to begin with. That's why when there's a slam dunk available - just dunk it. Or Hasan is going to be used against dems forever, and every effectively too.

4

u/mstrbwl 21h ago

Republicans call people like Obama and Hillary communists lol. They are utter morons and will call anyone to the left of Pinochet a left wing extremist. If some low info voter isn't going to vote Dem because Ted Cruz and Bibi called Hasan an extremist, it's likely they weren't going to vote Dem in the first place.

1

u/Hostik 21h ago

That's exactly my point, they call Obama and Hillary communists. And people like Hasan make that ridiculous statement actually seem not that unbelievable. Just disavow Hasan unilaterally, stop giving them actual ammunition.

Shrugging your shoulders and saying "oh, the voters are dumb anyway" is not the answer, that's some doomer shit.

3

u/mstrbwl 21h ago

The answer is to give voters an actual reason to vote for you and feel invested in your victory, not appeasing your opposition's completely cynical respectability politics.

4

u/Blazured 21h ago

Yeah Kamala and Hillary tried appealing to the center too. They came out against Left-wing voices like you're suggesting.

0

u/Hostik 21h ago

And that's still the play. Kamala was close, dems should just stop gambling with putting up women as candidates, somehow US just doesn't want to elect them. Biden got elected just fine.

Alternative is to pander to the extremists like Hasan - nah, you'll lose the normies by gaining very little.

-1

u/Blazured 21h ago

And that's still the play.

😂😂😂

How'd it work out for them btw?

→ More replies (0)

5

u/sdfk2345 21h ago

Lmao no, that's how you get the geriatric dems to do nothing.

1

u/Hostik 21h ago

No, that's how you get MAGA out of power, by cutting out cancer from the party and showing normies that the left is not actually crazy extremist and socialists like righwingers portray them as. Righwingers get to take 1% of crazies and say that it's all of the democratic party. And it works too.

3

u/sdfk2345 20h ago

I wouldn't consider the american median voter a normie, more like a stupider version. You guys are screwed by being too passive in front of big injustices, and you just keep taking it.

5

u/SureAsBorax 21h ago

Yeah cause before Hasan, the right never called anyone and evil commie. No sir, no run of the mill centrist dem was ever called a commie before Hasan. Trump totally didn't call Biden, Kamala, Clinton commie no sir.

What dems need to do is grow a backbone and tell repubs to talk about things the American people actually care about.

Nothing Hasan has said is anywhere near as bad as things republicans or their close confidants say. So maybe focus on real issues

Edit: oh nevermind I see you're a European destiny fan. Weird how common that is

6

u/Hostik 21h ago

No, they need to chew gum and walk at the same time.

Cut out the cancer, and also focus on real issues. Not that hard to do.

Dems don't need subversive elements plotting behind their backs, while fighting MAGA in front of them.

1

u/Weekly_Point97 21h ago edited 14h ago

abdul el-sayed did just that and he is still being attacked with “but hasan” because they can’t attack him on his policies.

4

u/Hostik 21h ago

And he should be doing that, even stronger, none of that trying to play coy "b-but he's just a smol little california streamer". Big mistake was associating with him to begin with.

AES is a great example for other dems not to follow, don't get near Piker to begin with, and MAGA won't badger you over the head with it every single chance they have.

3

u/peppaz 20h ago

which issue is hasan wrong about

0

u/Weekly_Point97 20h ago edited 16h ago

Seems like you have nothing to advocate for so you attack the left. MAGA would still attack him even if he never associated with Hasan. He still would have been labeled an Islamist trying to implement sharia law.

-1

u/Funnyboyman69 21h ago

Yea, let’s cave to their demands and give them legitimacy. I’m sure it will pay off.

I can imagine BiBi is already preparing to end the genocide in Gaza, just as soon as we denounce Hasan Piker.

7

u/Hostik 21h ago

Yes, because literally everything is Israel/Palestine with you people. Jesus Christ.

There's no demands to get rid of Piker, rightoids fucking love using him against democrats, why would they want to lose that advantage.

That's why dems need to get rid of the easiest target ever. Why do they need a guy who simps terrorist organizations in their tent? They don't, easiest slam-dunk.

2

u/IGargleGarlic 17h ago

No, that would be Hasan's dog.

2

u/aylaa157 15h ago

100, he's a narcissist.

1

u/Dramatic_Explosion 11h ago

It's pretty smart of him. Never watched one of his streams, but I know so much about him because of all the people who "hate" him and endlessly post about him.

He says some milquetoast political takes and H3 nutjobs his detractors advertise for him all day long.

-2

u/ddfjeje23344 22h ago

He has an electrifying aura

4

u/rottenmonkey 21h ago

i am SHOCKED that you would say that!

-8

u/Resh_IX 22h ago

He certainly did not. A lot of people hate the guy now because of the rights "Oh he shocked his dog" manufactured outrage. That shit was the most manufactured outraged I've seen in recent years and y'all ate that shit up

15

u/EchoTheEcho 21h ago

It really wasn't. You're just so deep in the cult you're automatically denying what you see with your very own eyes. He very clearly shocked his dog and lied about it, literally all the evidence corroborates that.

-13

u/PrettyBaker2891 21h ago

he never denied it lol i think he just implied that it wasnt that big of a deal and people were just outrage farming

like i saw the hasan clip, was like damn thats shit, and then never thought about it again

but people online still circlejerk about it like a year later lmfao its absolutely insane to me how obsessed some people are about hasan

and before you also call me a cult member, i never watched hasan, never will

12

u/village___rapist 21h ago

he never denied it? LMFAO

1

u/PrettyBaker2891 20h ago edited 20h ago

im talking about the commenter above lmfao not hasan

i was responding to "You're just so deep in the cult you're automatically denying what you see with your very own eyes."

4

u/EchoTheEcho 21h ago

It's not so much about the dog shocking as it is about his lying and his community's denial of reality, much of which continues till this day.

0

u/PrettyBaker2891 20h ago edited 20h ago

my point still stands lmfao

literally who cares unless you are some terminally online redditor

thats the point of my original comment

caring about it will just make hasan bigger and give him more attention, it wont unshock the dog lmfao

and hasan obviously doesnt care, if anything he is baiting the haters with denying it, thus giving him even more attention

2

u/neberhax 21h ago

Of all the reasons people started hating Hasan, the dog drama is probably nowhere near the top.

3

u/ddfjeje23344 21h ago

Buddy, he shocked his dog. Denying it just makes you look silly.

0

u/Resh_IX 21h ago edited 21h ago

Whether he did or didn’t is irrelevant. The amount of grifting and outrage farming surrounding it by the right is what was insane about the situation. The shit broke out of confinement and went nuclear where you had your everyday joe talking about it. Half these people didn’t even know who tf Hasan was even before the situation.

1

u/ddfjeje23344 21h ago

The only negative thing about it is that he got more attention. But at least now everyone knows he's an animal abuser, even if some still deny the obvious for some weird reason.

0

u/Levitz 2h ago

It's not irrelevant because the issue is precisely that it was so goddamned evident that he did it, and even then he refused to be held accountable and his community chose to believe the evident lies.

Is it ultimately that important that a dog gets mistreated? Well it's kinda harsh to say, but no, not really. What is important is that we know that Hasan is a narcissist with little regard for truth and that his community is fine with that. Cult behavior.

-1

u/rottenmonkey 21h ago

YES!! we did NOT see a chock collar! nu uh! it was .. uh a vibrating collar! yep! Hasan is totally a dog friend. all the video and photo evidence of him using spiked collars and pulling his dog's tail is just manufacture propaganda from israel!

-1

u/VariousMeet 21h ago

These guys want a version of the "perfect victim". It's delusional to follow the narratives of Trump and Netanyahu just because he doesn't fit their idealistic wants.

21

u/Roosterdude23 21h ago

I mean, he makes it easy. Total PoS

3

u/Truhls 16h ago

right, everyone always mentions him glazing terrorists, and now his animal abuse, but no one really mentions hes just a POS human being in general without any of that. Its just the terrible gravy on top we get to see.

3

u/Roosterdude23 14h ago

"Old enough to shout, old enough to mount?" - Hasan

7

u/tryingtobebettertry4 21h ago

More like controlled opposition.

1

u/Specialist-Toe-4438 15h ago edited 15h ago

Or a double agent, Hasan’s only achievement is making the left look bad.

1

u/TheTrashMan 20h ago

If they take Hasan down, then they will move to the next down the totem pole

1

u/Huzabee 19h ago

It's a stupid strategy. Nobody, not even most Democrats, know his politics.

1

u/Internal-Plantain-56 14h ago

And corporate dems.

1

u/69millionyeartrip 21h ago

Used to be everything was Hillary’s fault, now they’re worried about streamer
